I liked your sky better than the photo because your sky showed movement and texture while the photo seemed a bit flat. You captured the dramatic feel of a fiery sunset well. Very pretty.
I think all artists think there is someone out there thats better :P But i saw that post on FB of the matrix painting...i honestly dont think anyone can do that same still shot better then you..THAT was some srsly good work!!! not blowing sunshine up u butt!! that piece is impressive

Jason is that cad yellow deep hue or light hue, you know the way there are a few types of cad yellow, red etc. .& it can affect the colours when blending
Jason I am thinking of getting some soluble oil paints .I want to know if you find blending is as good with them like oils , was the orange sky done in water soluble paint ?or was it oil paint ? The reason I ask is I tried some along time ago and couldn't get on with them ,but maybe they have improved them by now .Please let me know frank
hey jason have you ever seen inan harris? he got a very unique way of painting portraits you should give a look at it's looks easy to do or practice with until you get the hang of portraits

Can I use the same technique you did in this painting with acrylic paints. Soft brush blending sky. ??? Really like how colors turned out. !!

Frank Holmes yeah this was done in water mixable oils I don't think there is much difference between them and traditional oils. personally.
