Saki formed Nemo in Sept 2019. Saki guitarist of Marys Blood, and a project with former Dragonforce bassist. Harazuki guitarist with Disaquila, and Lisa X. Bassist Haraguchi San, from Holderlins. Mayu vocalist from Lipstick. Marata Tamu drummer from Soramimi, and session drummer in japan. They did a sold out show February 2020, when cancellations all started. Drummer Tamu was pregnant, had her child then, took some months off came back in late July. They did a virtual concert for fans streamed in August. Life song vid is from that stream. Life is s beautiful song, contrasting with Dissension, showing the talent of these women. The guitars are so beautiful, playing with backstage scenes, them celebrating Hazukis birthday, turning their mics to face drummer Tamu while playing. Tamu holding back emotion the whole song, until Mayu gestures toward her, she cries, all while never losing a beat. But yes, I love this band and the diverse songs they create. They covered songs every friday during the fall, while recording these songs for an EP, and songs for an album in time.
They are such a fun band, in all of their practice room videos (nearly all of their videos bar MVs) they look like they're having as much fun as they have skill.
I just dont know what they have in the water there because Japan is ridiculously filled with awesome metal artists and musicians. From Babymetal, Lovebites, Unlucky Morpheus, Ningen Isu, Aldious and now this? Unbelievable. I dare to admit that Japan is saving the metal scene since the last decade.
So glad you guys checked this band out! The song that really got me is Raitei. The ending of that song is the most pure form of headbanging fuel that I am aware of. Fighter is a jam, and really all of their originals are worthy of reactions. Some of their covers are really great as well. Great to see one of my favorite reaction channels hit one of my favorite current bands.
So glad these 5 people decided to start messing around a year or so ago. The 4 musicians are top-notch and they have gelled really nicely as a unit. Mayu's voice is different enough to make her stand out - love her attitude.

every member of Nemophila is phenomenal...beautiful...talented...and kick @$$ ! and maby by "name" they arent up there yet...but their music is miles ahead! and this song opened a can of whoop@$$ lol ! being from different bands they blend so perfectly and feed off each other bringing a style that is different to most of the other Japanese female bands ..and ...Japanese bands in general! and every song they have released has a different vibe to it. they are amazing !
Nemophila are a bit of a supergroup, with all 5 members being fairly well known from other projects, most notably Saki who is also Mary's Blood's guitarist and used to play in Destrose, who are legendary at this point, though mainly because of bands former Destrose members went on to form, such as Lovebites and Disqualia. Speaking of Disqualia, Hazuki, the other Nemophila guitarist, was Disqualia's guitarist, and also plays in the Li-Sa-X Band, who I think you reacted to recently. Tamu Murata, the drummer, is a very, very highly regarded session drummer and seemingly one of the drummers of choice (the other being Senri Kawaguchi) of Rie aka Suzaku. She's a phenomenal drummer, specializing in experimental progressive jazz-fusion type stuff...actually she seems to specialize in anything where drums are required... she's done a lot of stuff with a lot of well established people as well as solo stuff, and she's also a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist - you should check out some of her stuff on youtube, she'll blow you away. Some clueless person in the comments of another Nemophila video said that Tamu "isn't in Akane's league" (Akane from Band-Maid), and I had to laugh, 'cos Akane's my favourite drummer, but Tamu is very much in Akane's league. She's a drummer that other drummers study to become better drummers, so getting her into this band was a major coup. The other two members went under my radar before Nemophila - vocalist Mayu used to sing (as Sindy) for Lipstick who I was aware of but never really listened to. They were quite good, as I've only recently discovered. Bassist Haraguchi-san was in a band called Holderlins who I was completely unfamiliar with, so I only know her from Nemophila, but I love her. Amazing bass player and a brilliant glowing personality, always smiling and laughing and looking like she's having a blast.They're great, very new but they've been entertaining people throughout this pandemic by releasing a steady stream of live-in-studio youtube performances of mostly cover songs which have kind of blown up, so this supposed side project is turning out to be a much bigger thing than I think they expected, which works for me, 'cos they're fantabulous.
Through their professions, Band-Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila are connected. Haruna (Lovebites) Akana (Bandmaid) are good friends and Saiki (Nemophila) being in Destrose knows Haruna and Miho from lovebites.

Finally! 😄 I was expecting you to see DISSENSION. For me this is a state of the art of their music. I'm still waiting for you to see Hanabie. Until recently, no one spoke about Hanabie, mentions are slowly appearing in channel comments.

Whats crazy is she can sing so damn good! I mean for me personally I could do without so much screaming, her vocals are just incredible. Nemophila has for sure been on my radar as of late. I think I saw them on a recommendation from "Japanese Girl Bands and other music" on facebook. Was not disappoint.

As a fan of LOVEBITES , Band Maid and yes Babymetal these ladies are also a force to be reckoned with. While Nemophila has a different style than the other bands these ladies are on a completely different level and I love this music coming from Japan. I think we all need to move to Japan lol.

Finally!! Mayu's voice is amazing!! I don't know Japanese female vocalists of the same style of voice. I think Sekihan (Happy Heads NANIYORI) is the same style. They have voices of all genres and the MTH cover is super cool !!

Another great band from the land of the rising riff. Japanese bands (especially the female ones) are nowadays the top notch for Hard Rock and Metal. And there are so many more we all might not know (by now)

I freakin love this band. They have just the right mix of the typical J-Metal female band style that you can find in various bands...but then they add in just the perfect amount of a more western metal feel without distracting from their own style. I've struggled to get into a lot of the female J-metal bands even though I respect their skill...but Nemophila just works perfect for me. also ....I never thought I would say that I have a crush on an entire metal band that also makes badass music.
Yes, woo-hoo. Yes thank you, great reaction, this reaction snd your Epilogue reaction are favorites of mine. I thought you guys were gonna whack heads here, lol. Try their song Raitei, which is thunder, and what a thunderous finish, Eric will lose his hat. Their song Life is a beautiful ballad. Right now, Band Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila are my favorite bands. Try Lovebites song Insight, songs from first album were re-recorded in October in their studio. Their. not in their white stage attire, and its a favorite song of mine. Asami shines. I love their guitar tones, like BM and Lovebites, I can hear all guitarists. Like I can hear both Saki and Hazukis guitars. Raitei, and Oiran really show their guitar shredding. And love Mayus voice, Life really shows how beautiful Mayus voice is. And Tamu, with Akane and Haruna, all favorite drummers. Tamu rides her China cymbal here, instead of riding the ride cymbal.

Nemophila is not a super group, it's very common for musicians to move from band to band in their career. If every member comes from a group that's already popular, that's called a super group.

Ma dudes, finally listening to one of the top 5 All female Japan groups eh ... Mayu scream is one of the best out there these day. She is perfect singer for this type of music. Watched their three live streams and they are just amazing. They classify this as prog metal, but whatever it is named it is darn good. Saki (Mary's Blood) is one of my favourite guitarist, but Hazuki is really good. The drummer Tamu and Bassist Haraguchi complete this exceptional band, and Tamu is one of my top drummers. She recorded Trooper and Oiran while 7-8 months pregnant. Those were the first two songs as they started as fun cover band project. Well not anymore, now they are in the top with Lovebites (of course the best), Band-Maid, Aldious and BabyMetal. So many new all female groups in Japan ... at least a dozen in just a year, the scene is growing exponentially. If anything this pandemic did good is exposure and rise of all these bands. I've been listening to Japan scene since end of 2016, with my first band from there being the all glorious Scandal. The band who coined the term J-Rock. PS. I got there from K-Pop and J-Pop, imagine that ... exposed to all these new things within two months and haven't looked back since then :D

After Band-Maid and UM, this is my fave band out of Japan. Mayu is standing right next to Fuki as my top female vocalist out of Japan. She's got tons of vocal range and is sexy as all get out. Musicianship-wise, there aren't many bands that much up as well as the ladies do.

Another great band from the land of the rising riff. Japanese bands (especially the female ones) are nowadays the top notch for Hard Rock and Metal. And there are so many more we all might not know (by now)

I freakin love this band. They have just the right mix of the typical J-Metal female band style that you can find in various bands...but then they add in just the perfect amount of a more western metal feel without distracting from their own style. I've struggled to get into a lot of the female J-metal bands even though I respect their skill...but Nemophila just works perfect for me.
also ....I never thought I would say that I have a crush on an entire metal band that also makes badass music.

Right now, Band Maid, Lovebites, and Nemophila are my favorite bands. Try Lovebites song Insight, songs from first album were re-recorded in October in their studio. Their. not in their white stage attire, and its a favorite song of mine. Asami shines.
I love their guitar tones, like BM and Lovebites, I can hear all guitarists. Like I can hear both Saki and Hazukis guitars. Raitei, and Oiran really show their guitar shredding. And love Mayus voice, Life really shows how beautiful Mayus voice is. And Tamu, with Akane and Haruna, all favorite drummers. Tamu rides her China cymbal here, instead of riding the ride cymbal.
Dopes all around! Heck yes can't wait to hear more. We gotta get all these epic bands Lovebites, Band-Maid, Mary's Blood, Nemophilia, Hagane, ect.. put them all on a festival and just go!

Took me forever to circle back to this album. My first Nemophila in Budokan on Saturday!! Better play this song for me!!
Ma dudes, finally listening to one of the top 5 All female Japan groups eh ... Mayu scream is one of the best out there these day. She is perfect singer for this type of music. Watched their three live streams and they are just amazing. They classify this as prog metal, but whatever it is named it is darn good. Saki (Mary's Blood) is one of my favourite guitarist, but Hazuki is really good. The drummer Tamu and Bassist Haraguchi complete this exceptional band, and Tamu is one of my top drummers. She recorded Trooper and Oiran while 7-8 months pregnant. Those were the first two songs as they started as fun cover band project. Well not anymore, now they are in the top with Lovebites (of course the best), Band-Maid, Aldious and BabyMetal.
So many new all female groups in Japan ... at least a dozen in just a year, the scene is growing exponentially. If anything this pandemic did good is exposure and rise of all these bands. I've been listening to Japan scene since end of 2016, with my first band from there being the all glorious Scandal. The band who coined the term J-Rock.
PS. I got there from K-Pop and J-Pop, imagine that ... exposed to all these new things within two months and haven't looked back since then :D

Saki & Hazuki are the best all female guitar team, plus the solid drums of Tamu, the cool bass line of Haragushi San.... and of course Mayu on vocals

After Band-Maid and UM, this is my fave band out of Japan. Mayu is standing right next to Fuki as my top female vocalist out of Japan. She's got tons of vocal range and is sexy as all get out. Musicianship-wise, there aren't many bands that much up as well as the ladies do.
