    Kackie, every eye look you say you dislike on yourself end up being the ones I love so much I just have to comment 😭😭 I’ve heard in color theory videos that sticking with your native color palette is most flattering, but intentionally wearing colors you “shouldn’t” can create a super striking and contrasty edge! I thought this look was so unique and stunning today💚🧡🩶 love the earthy sagey mermaid warm/cool interplay thing. Although I think if you had done the Mob green in the center and then gone for a warm dark brown in the outer corner instead of a midtone blue silver in the outer corner it would’ve felt more native! And more satisfying with outer depth

    The eye look appealed to me more than it clearly did to you: I agree with other commenters that the intense yellowy-bronze of your sweater may have contributed to your opinion.
    While you liked the foundation, it may not prove so great with continued use: it contains wintergreen leaf extract, an ingredient known for its irritancy potential, which is best avoided by everyone, but especially by those with 'upset' skin.

    Hi 🎉 I honestly like the greens on you it works against that sweater colour. I think we get stuck in a colour way and have a hard time seeing ourselves differently. That blue would be a much tougher thing to pull off 😅

    It was interesting watching you work through the process of making the green shadow work, although the first thing I would have done was put on a different sweater. I wonder where the look could have gone with a different color top. Thanks for the wild ride!

  • @Cas_Q
    @Cas_Q 8 місяців тому +23

    Hey Kackie! Despite us (clearly) not having the same skintone, we both deal with a very similar yellow-ish undertone that just kind of eats colours we put on it, meaning that we have to be super colour theory minded-
    And with this green honestly you 100% could pull off that colour beautifully, but since your other features being warm and high contrast (your eyes and hair), AND that sweater being SO strongly yellow (an ironic callback to you talking about styling outfits at the beginning haha!) , that green was already going to be in a fight for it’s life to try to be at home
    And THEN you kept adding cool toned, blue toned greens snd I was like oh girl oh no, you’re blueing yourself my love you’re blueing too close to the sun lmaooo
    I think you would have had a much easier time framing it with your typical browns like pecan and trench, *or* modifying it to be more gold/warm olive-y yellow -
    Also with colours that make your brown eyes go a weird demon red I find almost *literally* separating them from the lid colour with black eyeliner helps eliminate that unholy complimentary colour resonance, though stark black liner isn’t necessarily your style tbf 🤔🤔
    Anyway all this to say that colour is beautiful on you, it just uhhh takes a lot more laser precise and active um… ‘doing’ than more skin native tones, unfortunately!
    Sorry for the long comment, just as a long time listener and fellow colour dweeb this truly felt like my bat signal in the night sky like oh my very specific and niche skill set and experience is finally relevant time to shine HA

    • @Justaregularoldplumbus
      @Justaregularoldplumbus 8 місяців тому +5

      I agree going gold and brown instead of blue might’ve felt better and gone with the sweater! I kept waiting for some dark brown to go in the outer corner. I lived this look regardless with the silver blues and forest green liner, but definitely can see how it felt very out of her comfort zone. Also when the beige lip color went on I instantly felt the eye look came together

    • @Cas_Q
      @Cas_Q 8 місяців тому +2

      @@Justaregularoldplumbus haha exact same! I was crossing my fingers for a dark brown, or just a more heavy application of a lighter brown on the look the whole time!
      And SUPER agree, when that beige lip balm came in and solved for the vibrant the blue-pink of her lips fighting with the green shadow, the whole look melded together much much more!
      I personally thought the mermaid iridescence of it all was still a Vibe™ but it’s definitely a more Statement Lewk relative to what Kackie tends to feel best in!

    • @inkasaraswati7625
      @inkasaraswati7625 8 місяців тому +3

      I have verrry different skintone than Kackie, but I liked the look that Kackie did to a point.
      My first instinct for Kackie is also to add greenish gold similar to her sweater, but what Kackie did with bluish green is actually a trick that I sometimes use. If you can't make a colour at home with you, then... don't. Like, think of red lip. Bold red lips look good BECAUSE it's contrasting, not because it looks at home. I would actually stop short from Kackie when she started to add beige at the end to make it more at home. Keep the bluish green contrasting to everything else, including clothes etc that must be almost monochromatic. Although it's also a matter of taste, Kackie is always about keeping a look unified while I like contrast, so I understand why she did what she did.

      I scrolled too far to find someone mentioning the sweater fighting with the green. That color is gorgeous on Kackie because of her coloring but if she had changed to something cooler toned I think the green would have really popped and brought out her eyes more. The look turned out all right with the lip and the neutral cheek but I was screaming at her to change her sweater the whole time lol

I have generalized anxiety, and depression as well…thankfully I am able to manage it with Celexa so far but I am at the max dose before stronger anti-depressants will be diagnosed. I love this honesty too. Although mental health conditions are more well known these days and thus accepted, they're still not as normalised as I'd like them to be.
      I also have generalised anxiety and depression and take meds for these. They're damn expensive, especially all together, but definitely non-negotiable so I suck it up. Also have tried talk therapy but what I really required was more investigation of my root cause of if behaviours and thus what I could do to help support myself. The OT work therapist and psychiatrist together diagnosed ADHD as well, and taking a med for this has helped me immensely in ordering and thus calming my mind.
      Definitely helpful to hear others experience in an open forum; thank you Kackie! ❤

    I’m not a doctor but I am a person who was diagnosed with adhd in my 30’s. I do not know if you have a diagnosis or take medication but you’ve mentioned adhd a few times. From personal experience, adhd is often concurrent with anxiety and depression and I was treated for anxiety and depression for years (various medications and therapy and yoga etc etc). I was very up and down and had to change my treatment plan frequently. Until I was diagnosed with adhd and started taking medication. I no longer take meds for anxiety and depression except for very occasional panic attacks. So if you think seriously that you might have adhd, please consider an official diagnosis and treating it first. Constantly going through life on hard mode would make anyone anxious.
    Sorry for unsolicited advice. Feel free to ignore it but if it doesn’t resonate. You are not alone but of course we are all also different. ❤ Thanks for the fun content.

    I found your wardrobe comments interesting. I have had a set style since the late 1990s when I started uni. It was not by design - it just evolved as a person who went to 3 or 4 punk shows a week/very entrenched in the art scene.
    Look at Roucha clothes - super cool concept when it comes to sizing, excellent design, and very good quality fabrics. Another interesting one is Ruti. I have one of her skirts that I wear with Prada-type Chelseas. I wear very minimal makeup and I have lots of heavy silver rings and some bracelets that do not come off. My eyes are a slightly cool green and the colour of MOB cream shadow really amplifies it, but because I'm otherwise very warm it can make me look like a zombie (with bright eyes!). I make it work by cranking up the warmth of the other colours as far as suits me (quite far) and then use it as a liner or colour on the lid. It must be surrounded by warm bronzes or it's over for me. It was so interesting to see this play out on you as well, even with my own experience I was skeptical it would be that tough to make it work, but I actually feel more confident in my own findings after watching you deal with it! Ilia has a liquid shadow that is sage with gold reflect and it’s actually gorgeous blended all over and feathered out on the edges with a skin tone powder. I think you can pull off a sage colored eye look but as a fellow fair complexion girlie, it doesn’t pair well with the bronzey colors that make a better combo for deeper skin tones imo.

    I think if you would have seen this eye look on someone else (because it's very pretty) and we're trying to imitate that look you would have been very happy with it (again, because it's very pretty). But it is YOUR creation and the entire look is worthy of more confidence. 💕

    I thought the pre-Space Cowboy eye look was gorgeous!
    If anything made it look “off” it was the cool tone green on the eyes contrasting with the warm olive/green sweater.
    I think changing out your top might have changed your view of the look.

    I think the eyeshadow looks may have felt really strange because your sweater was such a warm mossy green. Also that eyeshadow is the color of my undertones , greenish and a hint of blue-gray. I have light cool/muted olive skin. I'm definitely buying these eyeshadows because I'm hoping they are the perfect skin native colors I've been hunting for. I just need to lean full zombie 😂

    I had severe perioral dermatitis and it went away when I tried using fluoride free toothpaste and mouthwash. Don’t know why but that’s what worked for me. It comes back every time I use a chemical sunscreen or brush my teeth on vacation or at a friends house. I would love to see a full video on your experience with it. Mine was KNARLEY. 😭

    I feel like I’ve read once that rosacea (and perhaps by extension perioral dermatitis) is associated with an excess of the facial mites that naturally live within our skin (horrifying to thing about too much, I know), so I wonder if the ivermectin in the treatment you mentioned is supposed to be targeting that.

    Mineral powder I’ve found to be the best skin like powder, aside from any baked powder. If you see a mineral mosaic powder, you can almost guarantee it’ll look gorgeous on the skin. I don’t know why that is, other than multitude of colors to help color correct the very different shades in our skin, but can anyone tell me why these powders look airbrushed vs the other traditional powders that can look really matte, drying, cakey and all the icks?

    ADHD is a real and serious diagnosis. it’s not just a joke to make about having. i am begging you to actually go get diagnosed if you truly believe it’s something you struggle with. until then, please, please stop saying you have it, joking about having it, etc. it’s just harmful to those who are actually diagnosed. we already aren’t taken seriously when we say we are diagnosed with ADHD, so i am just asking you to treat it with the respect you would treat any other medical diagnosis. it’s not a joke.

    Your so used to seeing yourself with the rusty pinky shades on your eyes you can't see how beautiful the green was. It made your eyes larger and the color works with your skin and hair better. I've always disliked the colors you use on your eyes because it closes them off. Just wear a different formula green for a while. I'll bet you get many compliments. The spacecowboy ruined the look. Go green girl!
