I‘m 73 years old and I‘m still using setting powder over my foundation. Without powder my wrinkles are way more visible than without because of the shiny skin. The loose powder I‘m using is just NYX HD studio photogenic finishing powder and it works very well for me. Have been enjoying all your tipps for many years. „You‘re simply the BEST!“

I think it depends on your skin type. Oily skin can usually use setting powder with no problem and it helps reduce shine. Dry skin may have an issue with it settling into lines. Stephanie Marie, as mentioned above, has oily skin.

Im 56 and use setting Powder only on my centre face when i do wear it. Pick up a little powder and press it into the palm of your hand using the powderpuff and make sure its sparsely flattened into it, as however it is on your powderpuff will be how it looks on your skin. Then press it into the skin firmly wherever you need it to set your base. I use it sparingly under my eyes, down my nose , around my mouth and mid forehead...and I leave my cheeks un pressed powdered, it looks less like youre wearing makeup & more natural that way , while it keeps us held together in the more oily central areas.
I use Laura Merciers original translucent powder, & also i have Charlotte Tilburys Flawless finish is beautiful.
Another beautiful powder is Hourglass Radiant light, its blurring & diffusing like a filter .. you can buy a set of 3, Dim light , Incandescent & Radiant light. They look beautifully perfecting even on my 56 yr old skin , i use them like a blurring facial highlighter after ive pressed my foundation in with one of the other two powders.
And the last important thing we need is a good melting setting spray , that will take any powdery cakey look away & set your make up in place as it melts it all in nocely.
I use Morphes Luminous setting spray...Charlotte Tilbury does a great one too.
Hope this helps you use powder more confidently.
      Edited typos.

I really love the new LM ultra blur loose powder. I know it is pricey but it works so beautifully on my dry, sensitive (rosacea) 45 year old skin w/o causing breakouts, rashes, or accentuating fine lines. I can even set my under eye concealer with a light dusting of this powder w/o issues. Bonus, it is Talc free (I have a pretty severe sensitivity to Talc on my face and neck) and fragrance free, so if you’re very sensitive like me, might be worth the splurge.

Wayne, I just saw your vid where you talked about having shingles. I say it’s like having poison ivy on a sunburn! If you ever get it again USE hand sanitizer on it! I know…it sounds like putting alcohol on an open wound…but it’s not! The sanitizer took 0:07 the itch out and then the pain. After I started using it, it was gone in a week, but the pain was gone instantly! Please spread the word to everyone you know. No One should have to go through that pain. Mine was on my bra line so I had a patch over it when I went to the doc. She told me to leave it uncovered and keep it clean. I couldn’t really wash it as it was too raw and painful, so I thought I would try dabbing on hand sanitizer. It took the fire and itch out immediately! I’ve made it my mission to tell everyone I know. - Emma 🙏🏻🤍

I have both the LM Ultra Blur loose powder in Rose and the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose powder in Voila Rose 3. Right here in front of me. Unfortunately, when I checked the ingredients of the Givenchy with Beautypedia, there are several very bad ingredients, all types of fragrance, one of which is a fragrance that is normally only used in household cleaning products. Other ingredient dictionaries also point this out. And, IMO, the Givency is a little bit more matte. The LM while tamping down excess shine, is a little bit more polished and glowy. And, Ultra Blur has NO problematic ingredients. In Canada, it is about 10 bucks less than the Givenchy. Still very pricey. I love the LM Ultra Blur.

Came for the powder review, stayed for the eyeroll at Nars' cringy shade names.
I think I'll try one of the LM powders for science. I was about to give up on expensive powder after my new ELF powder beat my MAC ones, but it'd be nice to have the LM one to compare against as well.

@@jenniferweed2552 Ha - I was actually kind of mad at myself for buying MAC when the ELF one was so much nicer at a fifth of the price!
The one I got was the ELF HD powder in Soft Luminance, hope the one you chose works for you :)

Wayne could you review Kimchee “that white powder” (loose) and the “almost catfished” (pressed) setting powders?

I’d love to know what powder you’d recommend for mature dry skin?… I know this powder wouldn’t work on my skin unfortunately 🙁
