    i love how they trust their customers so much--to not trash the place,to clean up once they're done eating,to recycle and to use the books,condiments,etc. and not steal everything in sight--and i love even more how people actually do those things! amazing! it's very rare to have places like this in the States--most would be utterly destroyed within days.

      japan has 2% immigrants. the rest is all japanese. they have a wonderful, developed country and rich history. sure they have their problems too. its the culture of the people that forbids stuff like to trash a place to happen. they learn manners and how to behave very early on.
      i can only imagine how it is to live in a country where 98% of the population is your ethnicity and is just your folks. its somehow like a really big family of sorts. why would you trash a place like that? you can even leave your stuff on the table and go to the bathroom, no one will steal it. in the us or europe stuff like that is unthinkable.

    • @HighKnight
      @HighKnight 3 роки тому +12

      The quickest way to do this would require cultural and literal genocide of a society in order to have something like this be a viable business plan.
      You would have to have an Populace that has barely any concept of individualism and put all focus on social responsibility.
      And then, in order to retain said society, you need to erase any naysayers like those who were raised under the thoughts of individual selfishness and homeless population. And even then, there will be outliers. A very small few, like ranging around hundreds. But compared to the rest of society, you can get to have a perfect society.
      That individualistic mentality could be the real reason why it is hard to have something like this in other societies. People who straight up do not give a damn because of selfish pursuits and desires. Reasons why we have jackasses who leave carts out on the parking lot where there are cart stations designated for people to put in unused carts. Or people who throw trash out their windows of their cars. And that is not taking account of the homeless populations, many of which are either suffer some form of addiction or mental disability. It doesn't help that said afflictions have symptoms of having volatile and sporadic tendencies.
      1984 that society to hell. No concept of individualism. Only the thoughts to make society better in a CERTAIN way.
      That is of course, you want to have a society reflect like that of Japan in a practically instantaneous manner. Kill the adults, erase any thought of individualistic selfishness, and raise the children to be similar to that of Japan within one generation.
      In order to do this in a more humane way ... this would have to take at MAYBE 4 generations (take in account of possible individual-centered stragglers of maybe 10,000s), several moral values to be changed to similar as that of Japan, the erasure of any material for individual selfishness, a really good homeless program, and proper mental health facilities. Otherwise, that dream is gonna be hard to do.

      No kidding - There is approximately 1 vending machine per every 23 people in Japan, that's a LOT!
      And there are vending machines for _everything_ - even freshly baked pizza, baked cake, shirts, movies, you name it!
      Many vending machines are programmed to provide *free* refreshment during times of emergency, such as a major earthquake or tsunami. They contain backup batteries or generators so that they can continue to operate even during a power outage.
      Furthermore, certain vending machines also act as free WiFi hot spots! Considering you can even find such vending machines in very remote areas, it is quite useful!

    Double cheese for me 👍🏻it’s a wonder how the buns don’t get hard after being microwaved? In America I’m pretty sure someone would steal that soda opener😂👵🏻🇺🇸 Japanese taste buds are so strange to me! Ice cream and seaweed, eggs in almost every meal and desserts made with tea and mayonnaise used in so many foods.😳

    What I love is how unique vending machines can get be it in an automat like this, or individual ones in Japan that may or may not be on the beaten path. Oh sure western countries are making some unique strides, but Japan is just wonderful i've seen curry at one point in a vending machine. It's something I love, vending machines, and seeing what can be in these is nice. You can also tell the food took the automation into account in one way or another.

    I love it that the Japanese restaurant owner trusts the customers in cleaning up after themselves. It's not the same here in the US as Americans rely on staff to clean up. The Japanese are taught at an early age to tidy up; students in schools are actually the ones cleaning up after the day is done! We need something like that in American schools!
