@Hank Brooks bot
that's one expensive pizza considering how much it costs to get from tokyo to hiroshima via shinkansen. haha
@Britpoint your display picture tho🤧
@@jezzap Including hotel for the night... but well done, thanks for sharing!
but the americans travelled from pearl harbour to hiroshima by flight....
The fact that there was a person there, for a vending machine, within 10 minutes of calling the help line, shows just how dedicated japan is to keeping their country running well and how helpful it is to the people there!! Looked delicious too!!
So cool that most every company in Japan takes pride in their work/business and actually will fix things. Meanwhile in North America if they ever bothered to fix it it would take like 4-6 business...years ;)
Except Fukushima
Sorry to tell you this but my internet broke down on the 17th of August, I called my provider to have somebody come and fix it (my provider is NTT, one of if not the biggest provider in Japan) and they told me earliest they can come is 30th of August
So yeah 😅
We could NEVER have a pizza vending machine like that in the USA, as too many people would likely just take the pizza pan's home lol.
@@anonymousher0 they will take the entire Vending Machine in my Country.
I am so impressed that someone came to fix it in ten minutes....
#truth. I'm shocked the call center even bothered to pick up the call.😆
Omg same only if our fix centers here would care about there machines as much as they do over there 👉
You could never have one in North America someone would smash it or steal all the pizza cutters 😭
not me, it's japan so it's pretty much common
@@matthewlaird4009 lol over here in India people would resell them in the black market

Yo i was just listening to beautiful in white you uploaded.
Ok... that "free" pizza cutter and such is pretty damn awesome. Not to mention it's served to you in a pizza box. The level of trust in Japan when it comes to things like the grill or umbrellas or whatever that businesses leave to basically be honor system returned is amazing. Furthermore, it's not microwave quality, which is exactly what I expected it would be. Genuinely shocked lol.
its litellary just oneway garbage that noone needs
That pizza cutter was the thing I liked least. A large piece of plastic that goes into the trash after one use.
@@Panbaneesha since theres only two kinds of pizza with cheese, they couldv used an integrated cuttingknife in the machine
@@Panbaneesha You could have a bin to recycle/reuse the pizza cutters the same way there's a bin for the pizza screens.
@Marc Carran Notice I said "pizza box", as that is substantially different from a generic box. It's more costly to make, which is why it'd be more surprising. What you would expect is some shitty regular box that will soak through from minimal moisture. If you can't tell the difference, well... lol.
In my country, all these utensils from the vending machine would have been long gone...😔
In any other country, the pizza cutter would be glued to the box as it comes out (if at all). Just a simple restockable compartment is easier to manufacture, but this only works in Japan. There are other vending machines that feature this kind of trusting, like drinking straws next to a vending machine that dispenses drinks in disposable cups. Or small plastic bags hung from, I think was some kind of drinks vending machine (I don't quite remember that one too well).
True that. And here too. They would also steal the metal mesh tray that pops out under the pizza. People here have no scruples.
exactly heck anything that could be take away will be gone in minutes
Here in Brazil the machine don't last 3 dias in the streets I hate living in a country with that type of ppl
In my country no chance that you will call service and they will come in 10 minutes, most likely they will transfer your call several times until you give up
4:53 "Better slice it into six pieces, I can't eat eight."
Mind games the whole way.
It's called tricking the pizza, that's why i eat the whole thing uncut.
@@fr4il464 underrated, this comment had me dying LOL

I think these Japanese vending machines seem like a godsend if you've been out drinking with friends. Lets face it, after an epic night out you just want to fill your stomach, and a lot of these vending machines look just as good as a late night American diner but even better.
"The things I do for you guys"
I appreciate the thought man, but we all know you bought the 4 pizzas on purpose 🍕🍕🍕. I'm not mad, I'm jealous.
This is legit amazing. They really thought of everything from the pizza cutter and plastic bag! I like how trusting they are about returning the wired racks. Thank you for re-shooting this, it's very much appreciated!
That stuff tastes like cardboard. Pre-baked pizzas are basically microwaved. For less than that you can get a bowl of fresh noodle soup in a 24/7 bar.
@cehaem2 It's not necessarily prebaked. You can rapid cook a pizza in a combo IR/microwave/convection oven in mere minutes. In the US 7-eleven does this now in ovens made by a company called Turbochef.
Seriously Turbochef ovens are amazing. They basically brown, sear, and internally cook food in a way that's more or less indistinguishable from being cooked in a conventional oven, only several times faster.
Got to love how trusting they are.
I appreciate how conscientious and trustworthy the people there are for this to work. Sadly the rest of the world is overrun with selfish lazy people.
@@Zedola - Japanese people are brought up that way. They do not just sit there kids in front of a tv or game machine, etc. The parents/family actually takes care of them and teaches them manners/respect of others and things, etc.. Not like in the US for example, where kids are having kids and would rather be their "friend" instead of being a parent.

I'm so sorry you had such trouble the first time! Thank you for persevering and spending so much to show us this rare pizza vending machine, though - amazing! Here in the UK I wouldn't trust anyone to respect the machine. The bag/cutter/napkins section would be empty for sure, and even though they wouldn't be much use to anyone, some people would probably take the metal tray with them. Or they'd discard it on the floor rather than figuring out where it should go. Sadly, the standards for a lot of people here have fallen very low.
So true, bloody tragic isnt it
I'm italian and I have to say they look pretty good! They even put basil on the margherita, I'm impressed!

For those who haven't been to Japan, jolly Pasta is a nationwide restaurant chain that sells spaghetti, pasta, small pizzas and salads. The individual pizzas are thin crust, and run about 7-9 dollars. Their spaghetti is also good, I recommend them on your next trip here.

Add some vending to the mix
And you got yourself a team
This week I found a pizza vending machine, like this, in Germany for the first time. Then you upload a video about this. But in my case it was uncut and had no cutter. And instead of this wire it had a one way aluminium floor, because we Germans don't return (unless you get money), but instead throw it somewhere.

As other Italians have said, those pizzas look very, VERY good! The vending machine functionality and the details of the disposable mini pizza cutter and the stack for the wire racks are the quintessence of what I adore of your country: such an attention to customer satisfaction, and such trust in customers. Awesome video, as always!

I wouldn't mind living in a society where you can go places and the machines are not vandalized. Here in the states you'd never find one that worked or wasn't broken into for the money and the food we are a sad lot.

The whole scenario is simply awesome.
I am not a weeb, however, there is no denying that Japan is very advanced. It is years ahead the rest of the world.
Pizza Self is actually Italian technology though marketed to Japanese, not Japanese tech. It is based on similar tech (also Italian) as Let's Pizza:
>> Let's Pizza is an Italian company, which manufactures pizza making vending machines. The pizzas are prepared from scratch and it is the first vending machine to produce freshly made ready-to-eat pizza. [...] The machine combines water, flour, tomato sauce, and fresh ingredients to make a pizza in approximately three minutes. It includes windows so customers can watch the pizza as it is made. The pizza is cooked in an infrared oven. The machine is made to create 100 pizzas before it needs to be refilled with its ingredients.
The video is a bit inaccurate calling it Japanese vending machine. It is an Italian vending machine that is located in Japan.
Wow this man has dedication!!! thx for an amazing vid! :D

Wow at least someone came by very quickly. I was drooling watching I have been lactose intolerant for almost 2 years. So hard not eating pizza.
**sniff sniff**
YOU CANT EAT PIZZA? 😭😭😭😭😭
You can still eat pizza! Make it yourself using vegan cheese. Its not that bad, I swap between regular and vegan cheese for variety.
There is a non dairy cheese in the States called "daiya" and it's pretty good. I've used it to make pizzas and stuff. Not cheesy cheese,of course, but it does melt and stretch and has a pretty decent flavor, especially if you're using it as a pizza topping and it can blend with the sauce and herbs.
Make it yourself, there are a lot of cheeses which are lactose free. Oe sou could buy lactose free Mozzarella, too.
Wow! I love Pizza! ❤

I've seen a few channels do a video on this machine, so it's actually really interesting to see what happens when things go wrong. The metal wire rack is interesting, as it proves that the pizza isn't microwaved. I'm not sure what the cooking process in the machine is like, but I'm assuming a toaster oven so the heating elements are on both sides and can cook quickly.
I see a few comments about the pizza cutters and I am reminded of my visit to a hot spring (onsen) in Gunma prefecture and they had an ice cream vending machine. I got a small tub of ice cream and, in the UK at least, I am used to the small tubs containing spoons in the underside of the lid. I got back to my room and there wasn't a spoon, so I ended up using chopsticks to eat ice cream 🤦♀️. A couple days later I went for another ice cream (don't judge) and someone else was getting one in front of me. They opened a drawer on the machine and, you guessed it, full of spoons.
The pizza IS microwaved.. If you just toast it for 3 mins you burn the surface and the bottom.

thanks for sharing! the pizzas looked delicious-what's edam cheese?
Edam is a semi-hard cheese that originated in the Netherlands, and is named after the town of Edam in the province of North Holland. Edam is traditionally sold in flat ended spheres with a pale yellow interior and a coat, or rind, of red paraffin wax. Edam ages and travels well, and does not spoil; it only hardens.
