Logistically makes sense. Looks like it's Ben Mart, opened by Ben Foods, which is a subsidiary of QAF Ltd (where Ben Mart is located). Ben Foods location is slightly to the west, across Jurong River. QAF Ltd is... Just upstairs of the mart. Looks like they're a trading/distribution company, dealing with those brands you see in the video (Farmland, Cowhead, Gardenia, etc.). For those products that can't be sold to Fairprice, Sheng Siong, or anyone else due to too short remaining shelf life, they can just put them in the vending machines and there's a chance for it to get sold. In terms of rental, it's just a small space in a building they're already renting. In terms of manpower, just need to check, clean up a bit, and restock, which probably wouldn't take more than a few hours, especially since it's just downstairs. They can sell it for cheaper because of the shorter expiry, plus they're getting it at pretty much the best wholesale prices anyone can get. All in all, probably doesn't cost a whole lot in terms of capital investment to start this initiative, but there's a chance to earn back from the sales, otherwise it's gonna expire soon anyway.
Seeing the brands and the companies involved, I kind of understand why they set up shop so randomly there despite such a niche target audience.

it's a joke- those cookie tins are usually pretty cheap and have been around for a very, very long time, so elderly people (moreso old ladies) often re-used the tins to keep their sewing supplies in because it was cheap but sturdy storage. The joke is usually grandchildren would go looking for snacks at their grandparents' place, and more often than not find this tin of what they thought would be delicious little cookies- only to find it full of sewing equipment. It also happened to me as a kid haha.

Vending machine stores are always interesting. It's fun to see what meals you could put together from what's available. That ending though... I was looking forward to seeing the cookies but it's pretty funny. Did the path towards the store have to have red footprints on it? I mean a different color would be nicer than red cause it's kinda creepy seeing footprints in that color lol

Wow! Over here in New Zealand a single pack of noodles from a local supermarket is like $2.50 NZD I also add not as big as these. But then in a vending machine! That ish be like $7.50 NZD

9:28 Even that price for chicken is INSANE! I'm actually fricken blown away! That would be $10.00 here!

Yeah yeah the ending and all but... 17:20 bottom second?? Kahve Dünyası??? How the heck it got there?
It freaks the heck out from me because I live in Turkey and it is very unusual to see such stuff in other countries...

I guess part of the success of this channel is the fact DB uses very simple english. It´s not glorious, it´s not elaborate, it´s not Shakespeare. But everyone around the world can understand it.

I can never understand why vending machines here in Europe are so much more expensive than buying retail.
Especially the 24/7 vending machine store that recently opened up, it's more expensive than even the average vending machines in offices and tech school and such

I thought the same.. that 45 cent milk would be 2.50 here out of a vending machine
