Thank you so much for such wonderful demonstrations of this idea - I especially enjoyed the reveals on your cardinal pages 😊. I also wanted to add how much I appreciate what you put together for us - choc full of inspiration and accessible ideas that make me think ‘I could do that’ delivered at a nice pace and a really good length. I hope they are as fun for you as they are for us.
That’s so awesome! Thanks for all the kind words and feedback…it’s definitely the most rewarding part of making these journals and videos…knowing that someone feels encouraged and wants to be creative!😊❤️
Your explanations and thinking things out throughout all of your videos are so very helpful and makes me think outside of my rather narrow views (I am working on that!) compared to your flowing mind. I so enjoy watching your travels throughout the woods and fields while helping us see the details in nature. Thank you, thank you for sharing all of your knowledge.
Awesome! Thank you! Always so happy to hear that anything I am able to create is helpful and inspiring. Hope you are enjoying your art journaling as well! Thanks for watching 😊🍁
that actually helps a lot! I have and use templates for so many things but hadn't realized how helpful they would be to break through my how-to-start paralysis with nature journaling.
I found your layout tool very smart and helpful. Often a large, blank area feels overwhelming to decide how to compose your subject and make it pleasing to the eye. Once again, I am so glad I found you here on UA-cam and will gladly take in all you tips and techniques to improve my watercolor journaling. Thanks so much for sharing, ☺
Ah Ha Moment!!! 🤯😁 Now I understand how to create interesting layouts & compositions. This video was a huge help. I’m super excited to revamp how I was nature sketching. 💚🪴🐝🐛 Thank you so much. Hope you have a lovely day!
This was so helpful. I have started a sketch journal which includes everyday items as well as nature and plants from my garden. Using shapes to plan pages is a wonderful idea as I usually start by adding one sketch and randomly add more to fill the page. This will also help to create focal points and help plan where to place journaling and titles. Your video is much appreciated.
So glad if it helps you in any way! For me, seeing the shapes before I sketch does help with the overall composition…thanks so much for watching and commenting 😊
I stumbled on your UA-cam channel recently. I love your art work and it has encouraged me to think of doing a journal based on plants in my garden. I hope you will make more lay out videos . The lay out is something I struggle with. Many thanks.
@@annes105 Thanks so much for your support! Really hope you will start your own garden journal/diary too. I try do make a different layout for each video to help spark ideas. I also have some ideas for a video that would help with this that I am planning on for the future. Thanks for watching! 😊🌼
Thank You for this idea it takes away the blank page fear and I think it is going to work for me as well as the watercolour background. I will definately be doing this in my Nature Journal.
This is a really wonderful idea! I’m someone who loves to have a plan and organization and this would satisfy that need. I love it and will definitely be giving it a try. Very nice video 😊 thank you for sharing!
Thank you. This is very helpful as I am just starting with nature journalling and it will help with layout ideas. Great tip and inspiration. I just subscribed to your channel.
What is the name of the font that you used for your title on these pages? I think it adds so much to your work. I have been watching, and even re-watching, some of your videos. You’re very much appreciated. 🥰
@@luannfischer747 I super appreciate it…thank you 😊 I made up this style of font years ago! So sorry! You can always look up styles online to find one that fits your style. Maybe I will make a future video and include font ideas in the video. Thanks so much for watching AND re-watching! 😀🌼
My journal arrived, I have my first (title) page complete! Now on to using these shapes to create my first two page spread! How are you keeping the space between the drawn lines for text parallel with the page and evenly spaced? Thanks!
That’s awesome! I just eyeball the line spacing but you can always take a ruler and place dots vertically every half inch or whatever spacing you would like. 😊
Hello. This is very helpful. I have a question about the large text at the top of the page. Did you do that free hand? I appreciate your instruction and sharing your beautiful journal.
Thanks so much! I lay down a guide line and freehand the text in pencil first. I’ve been doing this type of lettering for years so it’s a simple thing for me now. I do have to learn other types of lettering though so I practice those😊

Would different size and color-post it notes work? You could cut them but keep the sticky part? Just thinking out loud….
I don’t know for sure but it sounds like an idea to try…a nature journal is a great place to experiment with art! 😄
