I thought you were going to give a feedback on the suspension . Your fuel economy n your drop in torque is because of your tyre diameter . It has nothing to do with suspension
Suzuki would sell 200,000 per year in the U.S. if they sold it here. My first new car was a 1987 Samurai JX (luxury edition) with oversized chrome rims and tires. Loved it.
Thanks. I think I'll start posting some new content soon with some different cars. I am actually more into sports cars usually.. but have become very fond of the Jimny.
Apologies if anyone has already pointed that out but lift kits do not give you clearance, bigger tires give you clearance because the car is sitting on the axels with the differentials the lowest points. Otherwise, great vid man! I love my Jimny too lol
@@bikramsingh7768 Like Mark said, improves approach angles but most importantly gives the vehicle more room to flex and overall rides better than factory suspension. I'm not just talking pure lift but suspension sets.
That's a very narrow scope you're looking through... Lift kits won't give you axle clearance, but they do increase the clearance of every other component. Your radius joints, your radiator, transmission, fuel tank, doorsteps, exhaust. It gives you better approach departure and break-over angles. But no, it won't lift your axles up higher off the ground.
Changing your tyre size is what has changed your fuel economy and acceleration not the lift kit. The bigger tyres will also change your speedo it will show a slower speed than you're actually going

Hey mate, thanks and yes still happy. No new mods. The car still gets used as a road car first and foremost. I feel I'm at the point where doing anything more would make it a better off-road car and worse road car. If you're buying a demo you could try negotiate for them to cover the first annual service. They change the diff oil so it's a bit pricey.
I originally got it thinking it would protect the car from others opening their door onto it. The reality is the silver side under garnish that I added sticks out more though. So now it's just for looks I guess!
Great video full of info. I have looked at heaps of lift kits, a lot say get extendable brake lines extendable this extendable that bracket for the light beam, across bar extension to lift the diff etc. Do all these kiys come with this stuff or is it extras on top of extras? Thanks
I took the easy option and the shop that installed it did the extended break lines and headlights sensor kit. They included it all in one price as a package. I'm not sure about buying a kit as such. I know I didn't lift the dif. I find the dif scrapes occasionally while off-roading, I do have dif covers front and back to help protect though. Hope that helps!
@@thehardshift are you happy with your tire size, as in height. Has it ever hit the guards? I am looking at getting tires and lift done at the same time. Might save some coin that way. I do like your idea of keeping the stock rims. Cheers
Very happy with the tire size. Height feels about where it should be for a car that is used for commuting and the occasional off-roading. Never hit the guards. The car still gets blown around. I'd say it's slightly better at recovering from it. It's still a box that doesn't weigh a whole lot at the end of the day. I've seen posts from others online saying they've added weight to the rear to help it but it'll hurt your fuel economy.
