Honda Accords from this generation are super nice drivers. My mother bought a V6 Accord new in 2002 and still has it (60k miles). That V6 engine is a real honey, and very reliable. The interior fittings are from a time when Honda knew how to do interiors right and have proven very durable. The only downsides are the well-known auto transmission problems and the failing clearcoats. Be sure, too, to check the front subframe where the air con drains for signs of rust, as this is another known issue with Accords of this era.
I had an 02 coupe for my first car. Loved that thing. Pretty quick for a 2000 dollar car. Love the way everything is setup in this car way better than my newer hondas. The interior just felt classy
The last two cars I’ve owned were used Accords with over 95 thousand miles on them. One a 4 and presently own a 6 cylinder. Great cars. So glad you bought that Accord Randy.
hell yeah! i don't care how fun the porsche is to drive, this accord needed a 60$ part that someone's grandma could easily replace and a bath and its golden its proof people care more about flipping hondas than super cars people couldn't care about JRG's Audi
To me, this is the last body style of Accord that had it's own identity! Nowadays, cars all look so similar. This model and the 90-93 are my favorites!
I financed a 2000 V6 Accord for a couple in 2003. They sold it in 2017 with just under 300K miles and got almost $5K for it. The fellow of the couple that owned it is one of the most meticulous car owners I know of. It was really over maintained and looked showroom new at 14 years old.
Great deal on it my dad has an 02 I believe and when he stopped driving it, it had 320000 miles on it and it still ran great. Those for sure are great old cars. Nice job Randy keep up the awesome work.
These accords are very good cars, old lady has a 99 coupe ex with a 2.4, around 300,000 miles & still runs like a champ. Yes you can scratch glass with razor blades, especially the hardened utility knife blades. The single edge blades are safe to use and are the best way to super clean your windows before applying rain-x. Makes the rain-x last amazingly long.
They called it Nighthawk Black. It’s twin was given to me by a customer last year. One of the lower ball joints had broken causing damage to the fender, axle and r/f strut. I fixed it myself for $200. 275,000 miles and still ran smooth as silk. Sold it to a family friend for their daughter’s first car. Still going strong.
I bought my 2001 Accord EX V6 sedan August 2019 with 184k miles from a family friend for $999.00 5 years later in 2024 it's at about 196k miles and still running great. Only issue is that the power steering pressure line started leaking and drains all the power steering fluid. I'll need to get that taken care of. Other than that it's been driving great. I've been changing the oil every 3-5k miles with full synthetic 5w-20 and change the air filter/cabin air filter every year (I'm in the San Joaquin valley in CA with very hot summers and terrible air quality).
This generation of Accord and its cousin the Acura TL are notorious for transmission failure. Such a shame, as the J30 and J32 Honda V6 engines are so bullet proof provided they're not neglected.
Randy, if you are getting it repainted, get those headlights restored. That mixed with the new paintjob is going to make the car look brand new. For a 20 year old car, its going to look great.
Very good video. I love Honda and Honda Accords. I am getting ready to purchase a 2000 Honda Accord LX with 68,000 miles and the tech says the car is in great shape. I will find that out in one week. Thanks for the video and I will try to keep you posted.
Randy you can sand those door dings down to the primer or metal then mix up some bondo and lay it on there and use a sanding block to block it out EASY PEASY then take it to MACCO You dont have to sand down to the metal to get the bondo to stick primer is better. You can prime it after you sand it. then add bondo. It is really simple no need to paint over door dings.
A perfectly respectable car.... Needs a coat of paint, an oil change, and it's ready for another 20 years and another 200K miles of service. Love Honda!
The #4 coil must be a common issue. I just did a neighbors '01 Accord. I had no spark on #4 so I moved the #4 coil to the cylinders harness next to it and it did not fire there either. $60 with tax at Auto Zone and done deal. I agree with you to only replace the one that is defective. Thanks for the video.
A good solid car, friend of mine has 2001 Civic with almost 350,000 miles and still strong, just starting to get some rust. Yours will be a quick sell.
Pretty nice car and value of the money, I loved the car. What in my opinion is that the clear coat faded away, lovely rims and a honest car. I would love to own and care it.
Great job as usual Randy! Coil pack, motor mount, good to go. To be honest, now that it's washed it actually looks pretty darn good! I bet it would be an easy sell without new paint. I'd drive it like that as long as it runs as good as it does! Big Score!!!!!
You can get the tiny dings out with a heat gun and ice, or a glue on dent puller. You could probably save some money if you sanded it for the paint shop.
The dashboard reminds me of my Honda CRX type 2 that I used to have a long time a go...and I still miss it. Honda motors are the best! They just never quit as long as you put some oil in it 😉
Next time you're at Harbor Frieght get a couple of magnetic bowls to put your screws, bolts and nuts in. They;re cheap and they have saved my butt many times, especially with small screws. No more lost screws.
I bout a 04 Honda accord from auction 262k and runs great heat and a/c work great . 1k I dont even wanna sell it. Good little car. Only needdd a rear bumper cover
next time spray some lithium grease on the tube of the coil to stop water getting in, that's the other killer of coils. another tip to remove paint marker pen is to use paint thinners or prepsol on a rag/s, saves scraping as it just dissolves the gunk and it cleans as well
Actually, it's Pilkington (now NSG - Nippon Standard Glass) - I've been to their one of their primary tooling / glass manufacturing plant in Mexicali, Mexico. They can custom make a windshield, etc., for your vintage Corvette (if you happen to have one).
Hehe the song that started playing on your radio was the same song I just listened when I got to work. Also congrats on the Honda, probably one of the most reliable cars out there
Ahhhh nothing more relaxing than seeing a $1500 scanner sitting on the engine bay right next to the battery terminals....Hey randy, will you try some transmission fluid on that faded paint? I've seen people on youtube do it and it looks pretty good!
Go down to Harbor Freight and get a door ding repair kit and while your there get a couple of those magnetic trays to put your nuts and bolts in while working under the hood, nice little car looks like a winner, should get at least 3k .
Randy, maybe that is "Pilkington" - it is a big car glass manufacturer making windows for Ford etc. Good Honda will definitelly make somebody very happy :)
Randy! I'm looking forward to see how the new paint job is going to look on this! I think this would be a great commuter car to drive back and forth from your house to the "shop house" or a great flip car! Can't wait to see what happens.
Randy, how do you identify that there's a misfire without opening the hood? is it a noise? a different vibration?? Just asking cause i need to know and don't wanna pay between $400 to $800 to do a job that you made seem so simple and only using one hand. Love ur channel!!
Randy buddy u gotta get a head camera mount so u can have both ur hands :) it's amazing to see how much you grew from the yellow mustang , good for you!!
Not a fan of Honda , but this seems like a pretty good one here,, Liked We used to wipe down cars that had oxidation and clear coat loss with motor oil prior to washing them and 9 times out of ten they turned out pretty decent
I have a 1996 Ford Thunderbird 40th anniversary edition 4.6 LX v8. Paid $100 for it. 124k miles on it. Loaded interior. Intact leather. What’s wrong with it? Out of gas, a vacuum leak and no battery. Rebuilt title. All preventive maintenance was done before it ran out of gas on the way to where it’s at now. That’s how I got it. Someone gave up on it. Hell of a car for $100. Except the bubbafied ripped ignition. And the clear coat looks like that one
This car was about $24,000 brand new they are really reliable, that 3.0 Liter V-Tec is no slouch. My 2000 Accord V6 would run extremely well at 80 mph all day long on the highway. Change the plugs, replace the motor mount, service the tranny, check the brake pads, paint it and sell it to some college kid who needs reliable transportation. Those service records are a great data for getting your sales price. I wonder why the car even went to auction with so little wrong with it? Stay with you instincts to paint it that car will run another 5 years easily. I would have kept mine longer but it was my wife's car she is almost a foot shorter than me I am 6'3"it was not the easiest car to get in and out of for me. I like SUV's and trucks that I can get in and out of easier. I have 2011 VW Touareg now I love it. If you ever get a chance to flip one those do it, really solid and well made.
Those Accords will run for ever! I had one with 389,679 miles and never left me stranded.
Honda Accords from this generation are super nice drivers. My mother bought a V6 Accord new in 2002 and still has it (60k miles). That V6 engine is a real honey, and very reliable. Between me and the wife we have had 7 Hondas in the last 20 years. With proper maintenance, they will run forever, amazing build quality.
Yep. We love these cheap cars. Way more than the Porche's
HONDA we make it SIMPLE...........................
hell yeah! i don't care how fun the porsche is to drive, this accord needed a 60$ part that someone's grandma could easily replace and a bath and its golden
its proof people care more about flipping hondas than super cars people couldn't care about JRG's Audi
Mustapha Muazu old Honda’s run forever if maintained
I don’t mind the quick flips at all but i want to see something newer that needs a rebuild on it
To me, this is the last body style of Accord that had it's own identity! Nowadays, cars all look so similar. This model and the 90-93 are my favorites!

Just bought a 2002 Honda Accord EX with 103900 miles. Thanks for your video. I learned a lot from this episode and will subscribe.👍
Whooa, it’s such a baby
Great deal on it my dad has an 02 I believe and when he stopped driving it, it had 320000 miles on it and it still ran great. Those for sure are great old cars. Nice job Randy keep up the awesome work.
Bad coil pack what a hell of a deal. Great find randy.
Toyota Camry LE V6 5-speed ? Lol nope bryan
The Engine bay could use some love!
Randy. That is an oem windshield. Plinkerton is what Honda uses. My 2019 crv uses the same glass plinkerton
Actually it's Pilkington. A British company who also makes windows for Jaguar and eyeglass lenses.
@@patricknesbitt4003 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilkington
Honda's & Toyota's are the best cars on the road 💯% for real BIG Dog hands down real talk top notch top shelf cars !!
Call me crazy but I'd rather watch a video of an Accord than a Continental. Another good find.
13:50 I didn’t even know the car was on until you opened the hood.
Alexziah Estrada lol same it’s so quiet
Mine is very quiet too, you barely notice it is on.
@@wederjuega4117 Same love my old Accord

I have the same car its actually amazing for how old the car is I just hit 200k miles keep posting vids of this car i love it

its an lev(low emissions vehicle) I'm pretty sure your exhaust system is fine its just meant to be that way just my two cents !!
I bought my 2001 Accord EX V6 sedan August 2019 with 184k miles from a family friend for $999.00

Love the song that came on the Honda’s radio, it’s been a while by Staind
I listen to that song damn near everyday, it really hits home with me
Love it.
way to go Randy! Another good score of putting it out on the road instead of in the crusher! Nice job!
Fix motor mount and sell it. Take that $500 paint job from you selling price. Small families love these Honda's at a cheap price 👍
I agree a paint job on a 20yo car is a waste of $$$
He should had listened to you instead he put 700 more for a paint job
Nighthawk black pearl is the name of that paint. One of the best colors honda has put down imo
good score! you cant lose on this one. excited to see it after paint
Randy you can sand those door dings down to the primer or metal then mix up some bondo and lay it on there and use a sanding block to block it out EASY PEASY then take it to MACCO You dont have to sand down to the metal to get the bondo to stick primer is better. The Honda is a score. Well done, sir
You can usually check for the paint code on the driver side front door, towards the door sill in the middle(b pillar maybe?)
A perfectly respectable car.... Needs a coat of paint, an oil change, and it's ready for another 20 years and another 200K miles of service. Love Honda!
I do too. My 1991 Accord coupe with standard transmission runs like a Swiss 🧀 watch.
The #4 coil must be a common issue. I just did a neighbors '01 Accord. The car will make you money! Honda’s are good cars, I just recently sold mines, similar to yours for $2200. Good buy Randy.
Thank you for getting a Honda. I love you for that
This generation Accord has the best looking gauge cluster of any car IMO.
She seemed excited to be back on the road nice job!
Sand and clear my bud has one with 438000 miles still runs smooth good cars
Yeh, give her a paint job and send her on her way to a new family that will care and love her. Keep the content coming Randy!!!
You got a bargain. I think that motor mount is to brace the transmission to the frame as well. Great car I have a 1998!
3 kitre vtec pulls nicely on that 01 accord. Underated car.
I love these accords. My favorite Verison by far.
You scored big on this one.
That Honda was a steal, well done
Great job as usual Randy! Coil pack, motor mount, good to go. To be honest, now that it's washed it actually looks pretty darn good! I bet it would be an easy sell without new paint. I'd drive it like that as long as it runs as good as it does! Big Score!!!!!
Good Job! I have a Honda now after saying in the past I would never own a foreign car, never say never!
I own a 02 Accord with roughly the same kms on it. They are great cars in my books. I also scored mine for 1,500
No need for the tripod, handheld works for me. Your audio is excellent makes up for any shaking of the camera.
Great job. Fix the window tint. Ask Mike if he can fix the clear without a complete repaint might be cheaper.
You can get the tiny dings out with a heat gun and ice, or a glue on dent puller. You could probably save some money if you sanded it for the paint shop.
The dashboard reminds me of my Honda CRX type 2 that I used to have a long time a go...and I still miss it.

Digging the car wash segment👍

Nice repair.....you took the trouble to clean the outside of the car but not the engine bay....honestly it’s a real mess in there!
I can't wait to see it painted
It’s looking beautiful, don’t worry about a paint job. That accord will sell well with the pealing clear coat.
why don't the paint shot just do a new clear coat. The dark blue looks ok. It could be even cheaper...
The paint layer itself is going to be damaged, and they're going to have to try to blend it, more than likely.
Love this type of content. We need more Honda content
I bout a 04 Honda accord from auction 262k and runs great heat and a/c work great . 1k I dont even wanna sell it. Good little car. Only needdd a rear bumper cover
That's a great little car. When you're done with it some lucky buyer is going to be very pleased.
Nice honda had one mine was a 2000 with the 2.4 vetc loved that car i sooo want that one !
That was a 2.3...f23
awesome car. looks so much better after the wash. a new paint job will make the car so much more easier to sell.
would have a HARD time selling that... sooo dependable

Nighthawk Black Pearl - B-92P is the paint code I believe
Nice job! The tacometer seems a little sticky.
Jean-Philippe Grenier - It runs on tacos 🌮😀
Dude I love the car sooo much!!!
If I were in America i'd surely buy it off you Randy
Randy needs a magnetic parts tray from Harbor Freight. He also needs a service cart. Oh and we are used to Randy overspending and expect it now.
Good choice Randy on the 01 Honda Accord EX . Like to see more Toyota’s & Honda’s on your channel,,👍

Randy, for $50, you can get the all brand new 6 ignition coils thru online. Good Honda car. You did a great buy it on this one.
Those are garbage with no warranty been there done that, stick with quality coils and plugs
Go down to Harbor Freight and get a door ding repair kit and while your there get a couple of those magnetic trays to put your nuts and bolts in while working under the hood, nice little car looks like a winner, should get at least 3k .

They are tanks very good cars
The glass manufacturer is called pilkington an english glass maker !
Even with just the wash it looks good. Looking forward to the new paint job.
You scored! Ign coil, paint, & engine mount. Not bad at all money wise. 😁
Love these type of videos showing the work 👍 Keep up the good work fellas
Measure the temp at the front of the cat to the back the back should be at least 100 degrees warmer.
Best Buy you made so far, just next time buy 4 cylinder, v-6 transmissions are no good. Honda’s will always make money!!!
The pain code is on the driver B pillar your code is B-92p midnight pearl black
Agree on using tripod more, very distracting at present
Not a fan of Honda , but this seems like a pretty good one here,, Liked

u got lucky with the honda accord great man keep going man olo
let it go as is, the $$$$$$$$$$$$ spent on the paint job is gonna eat into the profit
Hey Randy .. How much for the Honda ? Im very interested.
$2,000
She’s a nice looking car!
Its also a nearly 20 year old car. I wouldnt pay more than 1k for it
