I like how Guy said "No using the Sharingan", i think this means that Kakshi once used The Sharingan on Guy before just for the sake of winning a silly yet friendly race. It just proves that Kakshi can also be Friendly and childish too.
I think it's even funnier because kakashi was trying to making the competition rock paper scissor, so there has been a history of kakashi using the sharingan to beat Guy in rock paper scissor by reading what he would pull out. That's so much funnier and more childish than beating a friendly race >_

For as cool as Kakashi pretends to be, it's obvious how much he sincerely loves Guy. I feel that at some point, Guy was the one to make him appreciate that for all he's lost, he still has something left to cling to in life. We should all wish to be so lucky as to have such a great best friend.

That's why Kakashi pitied Sasuke who had the same fate as him, Sasuke had Naruto to fill Guy's role but his heart was already deeply sealed that time with hatred..

@@irvancrocs1753 Yeah but the difference was that Itachi got him into the dark path with full of vengeance and hatred. If he met Naruto earlier or get to know him maybe he wouldn't be the way he was and left the village.
Well TBF Kakashi isn't evil so even if he didn't have him I doubt he would betray the village HOWEVER he might've committed suicide if Guy wasn't always challenging him. I think the whole Rin thing was probably the most traumatic thing for him since he was very guilt ridden over it.

the friendship between Kakashi and Guy is just so genuine and wholesome. Guy is always insistent on them being rivals and always challenging Kakashi to dumb challenges and Kakashi goes with it because he cares for Guy and enjoys his company and dorkiness. I love them both. Guy is so over the top at all times and Kakashi is as emotionless as a billboard, at least on the surface. you get the best of both worlds

Pretty touching how two these two are. I remember hearing Kakashi saying that with ALL of the bad things that has happened throughout his life all the way back since he was a kid, Kakashi stated that Guy was the most positive influence that he has ever had in his life. It's shown during the war itself where the two rarely left each other's side

I love this scene cause Kakashi always seems so cool, calm, and collected (unless the romance books are involved). I always thought he seemed kinda above it all, but when the homie comes around telling him its time to clown, he was the first dude to be chucking pots and spoons at the other to win some goofy race.
But what I love most about this that even in the ninja world "what guys do when girls aren’t around" hasn't changed a bit.

The fact that this episode takes place right after Konoha was bulldozed by Pain is a thing of beauty. Kishimoto was able to strike a perfect balance between tragedy and comedy.
Special props to Guy for always being there for Kakashi throughout the years, who we all know had one of the most depressing back stories in all of Narutoverse.

A much needed laugh after all the tears, for Jiraya, Hitachi, Nagato bacstory, the destroyed village, Sasuke lost to Darkness. I didn't t believe myself when I shed some tears at Danzo's speech, when he was talking about Hirizen being a leaf basking in sunlight and him just a mere root in the darkness, most of the best friends in the series are also rivals, but some of them could not fight the darkness 😭😭

Even that fight use more number of frames than this one. The different thing is that eps (Naruto v Pain) are an episode of sakugas showcase while this one more focused on heavy solo directional that even all this clip were animated by one person that also the eps director.

I like to think that a handicap, such as Guy's leg, won't be an issue on their friendship antics at all. That's even what I picture Guy saying. Nothing stops him.
Heck, you know they'll be doing this exact same race, kitchenware and all, just both of them on wheelchairs.
They never competed on "who can cast the best genjutsu/ninjutsu", so why would a wheelchair stop them from racing?
And even more so, now that I'm thinking about this, Guy would care so little about not being able to run, that he might challenge Kakashi to a race, without the latter using a wheelchair himself.
Just Lee watching his fight with Madara, sit back and enjoy the show. Guy is a beast, and will always be one.

The Greatest Taijutsu warrior ever, who even a 10 tails Jinkuriki God Madara respected as the strongest opponent ever faced since Hashirama.
And unlike everyone else he didn’t need some magic eyes or a demon in his body. He just threw hands with god and nearly won.
@@ethan1441 No special overpowered Jutsu that he can use repeatedly, no demon sealed inside of him to give him massive Chakra, no bloodline to give him special abilities, no magic eyeballs at all. He managed to impress the single strongest Shinobi in history by simply being THAT good at throwing hands.

You know, I've watched this scene several times, and only now have I just realized that when they're playing rock-paper-scissors, Guy lost as he called it off. He had scissors while Kakashi had rock ready. The little details are wonderful.

I'm grateful for these videos because they allow me to watch the scenes over and over taking in every cadence, nuance, and personality in the voice. They're much like when they were kids but older which makes this even more touching.
You can tell that not only the characters had fun but also the animators when making this scene, is so wacky, imaginative, fresh and cartoony that feels free and energic

It's so cute how Guy always held back during his challenges with Kakashi, and how Kakashi knew it but went along with it. In moments like this, they are kids playing games again and having fun without a care in the world. It probably help prevent Kakashi from succumbing to his depression
I think we can all agree that Guy had the potential to become Hokage if he is able to keep up with the future Sixth.

Yeah, he was strong enough. Something tells me though (I could be wrong), that Guy didn't want that level of responsibility. It seems he enjoyed spending his time training and training students. The responsibilities and constant decision making of a Hokage, seems like something that would not appeal to him. But he definitely had the strength, in my opinion.

Guy is a really good friend.
Despite his oddities, starting from childhood, he is, in fact, the only one with whom Kakashi maintained friendship over the years and whom he respected, despite the fact that he was stronger. Of course Guy showed us his real power in the final battle, but no one knew this before. And here he is trying to cheer up Kakashi, and, in some ways, everyone else, after the sad battle.
