I think it's even funnier because kakashi was trying to making the competition rock paper scissor, so there has been a history of kakashi using the sharingan to beat Guy in rock paper scissor by reading what he would pull out. That's so much funnier and more childish than beating a friendly race >_

I love how normally Kakashi is cool, collected, calm. But the SECOND Guy is within 100 feet of him their brains sync and he becomes just as if not more crazy than Guy
For as cool as Kakashi pretends to be, it's obvious how much he sincerely loves Guy. I feel that at some point, Guy was the one to make him appreciate that for all he's lost, he still has something left to cling to in life. We should all wish to be so lucky as to have such a great best friend.

I remember hearing Kakashi saying that with ALL of the bad things that has happened throughout his life all the way back since he was a kid, Kakashi stated that Guy was the most positive influence that he has ever had in his life. It's shown during the war itself where the two rarely left each other's side

Well TBF Kakashi isn't evil so even if he didn't have him I doubt he would betray the village HOWEVER he might've committed suicide if Guy wasn't always challenging him. I think the whole Rin thing was probably the most traumatic thing for him since he was very guilt ridden over it.

He managed to impress the single strongest Shinobi in history by simply being THAT good at throwing hands.
You know, I've watched this scene several times, and only now have I just realized that when they're playing rock-paper-scissors, Guy lost as he called it off. He had scissors while Kakashi had rock ready. The little details are wonderful.
To be fair, Sasuke was like the big brother that joined a criminal group and Naruto is the little brother trying to bring him back... And they are teenagers going through tough times...
I love how they just ignore the state of the village and the massive hole in it and just toss random things in the middle of what portion of the village is left
can I remark how awesome the animation is? Like WOW the motion and rapid transitions from frantic action to chucking pots and pans at each other is soooo damn clean.
The fact that this episode takes place right after Konoha was bulldozed by Pain is a thing of beauty. Kishimoto was able to strike a perfect balance between tragedy and comedy. Special props to Guy for always being there for Kakashi throughout the years, who we all know had one of the most depressing back stories in all of Narutoverse.
A much needed laugh after all the tears, for Jiraya, Hitachi, Nagato bacstory, the destroyed village, Sasuke lost to Darkness. I didn't t believe myself when I shed some tears at Danzo's speech, when he was talking about Hirizen being a leaf basking in sunlight and him just a mere root in the darkness, most of the best friends in the series are also rivals, but some of them could not fight the darkness 😭😭
I think people tend to forget that Guy is the strongest Taijutsu user in the Naruto world. I mean, just what he showed in the war arc was enough to prove he is one of the strongest Jonins in Konoha.
Yeah, he was strong enough. Something tells me though (I could be wrong), that Guy didn't want that level of responsibility. It seems he enjoyed spending his time training and training students. The responsibilities and constant decision making of a Hokage, seems like something that would not appeal to him. But he definitely had the strength, in my opinion.

This is why 200+ episodes is a good thing, in any entertainment industry, not just anime. It allways you to have these random filler episodes that just make you smile and feel more connected to the characters. Its like you know them on a deeper level with this episode.
Guy is a really good friend. Despite his oddities, starting from childhood, he is, in fact, the only one with whom Kakashi maintained friendship over the years and whom he respected, despite the fact that he was stronger. Of course Guy showed us his real power in the final battle, but no one knew this before. And here he is trying to cheer up Kakashi, and, in some ways, everyone else, after the sad battle.
I'm grateful for these videos because they allow me to watch the scenes over and over taking in every cadence, nuance, and personality in the voice. They're much like when they were kids but older which makes this even more touching.
My favorite part about their friendship/rivalry is that Kakashi is introverted while Guy is an extrovert's extrovert. You can tell Kakashi would shrug it off if the challenge came from ANYONE else, but it's Guy. He's clearly thinking, "Eh, why not; I could use a fun distraction."
Guy was the one who dragged Kakashi out of the darkness. When Kakashi was so depressed and suffering PTSD because of Rin's death, Guy was the only one who always cared about his mental health. I love Kks, that's why I also love Guy so much. Always wanna have a loyal friend like Guy.

can I remark how awesome the animation is? Like WOW the motion and rapid transitions from frantic action to chucking pots and pans at each other is soooo damn clean.
The fact that this episode takes place right after Konoha was bulldozed by Pain is a thing of beauty. Kishimoto was able to strike a perfect balance between tragedy and comedy.
Special props to Guy for always being there for Kakashi throughout the years, who we all know had one of the most depressing back stories in all of Narutoverse.

I didn't t believe myself when I shed some tears at Danzo's speech, when he was talking about Hirizen being a leaf basking in sunlight and him just a mere root in the darkness, most of the best friends in the series are also rivals, but some of them could not fight the darkness 😭😭

Yeah, he was strong enough. Something tells me though (I could be wrong), that Guy didn't want that level of responsibility. It seems he enjoyed spending his time training and training students. The responsibilities and constant decision making of a Hokage, seems like something that would not appeal to him. But he definitely had the strength, in my opinion.

I'm grateful for these videos because they allow me to watch the scenes over and over taking in every cadence, nuance, and personality in the voice. They're much like when they were kids but older which makes this even more touching.
My favorite part about their friendship/rivalry is that Kakashi is introverted while Guy is an extrovert's extrovert. You can tell Kakashi would shrug it off if the challenge came from ANYONE else, but it's Guy. He's clearly thinking, "Eh, why not; I could use a fun distraction."
The friendship between these two has to be the purest in the whole show
Guy was the one who dragged Kakashi out of the darkness. When Kakashi was so depressed and suffering PTSD because of Rin's death, Guy was the only one who always cared about his mental health. I love Kks, that's why I also love Guy so much. Always wanna have a loyal friend like Guy.
