As someone who grew up in Satsuma and spent much time in many places in Mobile and Baldwin County, a few tips: Stay away from the Bayway Bridge (I10) during peak hours, use the Causeway/Battleship Parkway as soon as you can get off I10 after the George Wallace Tunnel. If you use 59 to go to Gulf Shores... mind your speed in Robertsdale, they watch for speeders like hawks. And... if you are claustrophobic, do not drive through the Bankhead Tunnel.
You two were amazing to work with and made the relocation process simple. I also like how your videos do not feel like a sales pitch. You always provide quality information.
Outstanding report! I've lived in Mobile for 50 years, having moved here when I was 5-years-old. I agree with what you said in this video. For people watching this video, please know that people are nice here. For example, whenever you go to the store people are very polite here in the city of Mobile. Sadly, we will be selling my mother's house and taking her out west because she needs the dry climate for her lungs. We will miss Mobile, our wonderful neighbors, and a lifetime of good friends.
One of your best videos yet sharing the awesome highlights of the area! We are on our way down in two weeks to find our forever home. We are putting our home in PA on the market this week !
News alert, I am going on 70 and for the last 40 years they have been talking about putting a new bridge across Mobile Bay. Yes just talking, talking, talking, talking on the news to have something to talk about. Stay away from Grand Bay we do not need outsider in our peaceful area. We have great weather if you like hot, humid summer with hurricanes that leave power outages for weeks after hurricanes with hot ,humid days and nights. My Aunt owned a motel on Mobile cause-way back in the 1960's the hayday of the cause-way. Like many things built there it has been damadged by the hurricaines and tore down and nature has overgrown what was left. Restaurants on the cause-way that have not been destoyed by hurraines have open new and changed hand more times than I could keep up with. For some reason they seem to burn down, must be the salt air corrosion never to reopen. The Governor want to make all of I-10 accross the Mobile bay a toll road to pay for the new bridge which most of the working peple in the area do not support her way of thinking. Major companies come to Mobile because of the cheap price they can pay workers. Buk-ee's gas station came to Baldwin county and their pay for cashiers starting out was more than some major companies paid long time employees. Mobile is just like most places it is growing along with all the problems that other cities have. We have major things to see here, a baseball stadium built new that the baseball team left. Down town water front that the city built a major building over the main railroad only to see that building breaking up for some unknown reason and to many other failed things to list. But thanks at my age I will not have to put up with all this great area too much longer. Y'all have fun, it will still be a great place to live compaired to some other areas in the United states. Just a side note if you like mowing yards it is a great place to come to, the grass grows fase in our long hot, wet, summers
Mobile is also the Rainiest city in the Continental US by number of inches. Some years it is technically a rain forest. If you havent experienced hot and humid climates before definitely visit first. I have seen the humidity and heat melt an engagement because she was from a cooler area.
We have a trove of an army of transplants, moving here from all over the place, the Daphne school systems are overrun with kids, the roads are crumbling due to all of the traffic, they are building houses everywhere you go, and our roads are not made for all of the traffic so be prepared to move very slowly During certain hours. We’ve got a lot of restaurants that are beginning to close down. it’s definitely not that happy and mystical Place that everybody portrays it to be. Good luck on your decision to move to this area.
Oh something, I forgot to tell you was that the Mobile bay is polluted from all of the sewer from the city of Mobile being dumped into the bay as well as the sewer from Fairhope. Would not eat a fish or put my big toe in the water of the bay. Yes it is beautiful, but Man is destroying it. This makes me very sad.
This is gold! 🥇 If you're reading this just know this is how selfish transplants can be. Don't be this person and embrace southern hospitality!! Like us... 😁
I grew up on the eastern shore... Jubilee City. If you don't know, a phenomenal bay event that brings the sea life to surface for a little while.. happens in the summer... called a jubilee. not tourist friendly as it usually happens between 1am and 5am🙂
He left out a lot of locals are moving getting really traffic congested not the place it used to be that new bridge across the bay good luck keep putting it off 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get to Gulf shores now used to take 20 mins we have grown faster than our roads and our school systems etc not like it used to be too many people now no more beautiful scenery All new construction all new houses built are on top of each other and law suits against new builders!!
we didn't move forward...THE BUILDERS WERE GETTING DRUNK WHILE WORKING ON THE NEW HOUSES!!!(DR HORTON ALREADY HAD A BAD REP ONLINE) we changed course and will be moving to Mobile. Although I feel the situation could've be handled better. I don't blame Tony and Jess
I work in Pensacola, Mobile’s sister city, and you couldn’t pay me to move to the City of Mobile. I won’t even drive over there without my pistol. Baldwin county is fantastic. I’d live there is my department allowed me to drive my department vehicle across state lines.

Its great to be a Satsuma Gator!

Thanks, Cwest! And it was our pleasure, y'all are the best!!
Mobile is laid out like a folding hand fan. The main roads converge and merge as you get closer to downtown.
Not born there, but spent formative years in SE Alabama. Love the state and culture. Plan on moving back to the beach area soon!
Love hearing this! Definitely can't stay away and we understand why!!

What about the Dauphin Island fairy as a way to bypass all the traffic and enjoy a scenic trip from Mobile to Gulf Shores and vice versa?
It will probably take the same amount of time but it'll definitely be scenic & enjoyable!
We are looking to move there love this channel
We appreciate that! 🙏🏼
Eastern Shores is your best bet the closer you get to Mobile the higher the crime rate goes up. There's a shooting just about every day

Great explanation of the area!

There are! Contact us to learn more and we'd be happy to help ☺️
Awesome Video with some great information, and honestly the traffic is not that bad compared to Ohio traffic. Daphne is a great place
Thanks! 😁 we think so too!!
Hi, thank you for this video. How’s Rickarby? Is it a good neighborhood?
Never heard of it.

When did P'Cola become our sister city🤔😂.. New Orleans is our actual sister city
You know Daphne has Chripps and Bloods gangs.Pensacola has bad areas also.Everyone needs a concealed carry.
How far away is Daphne from West Mobile/Airport Blvd?
Around 25 miles. It’s usually a 30 minute drive. 45 minutes if there’s traffic.
The water sucks because of the brackish water.
@@Onelastbreath1976 Mobile bay does absolutely
Brackish water is amazing tho.. good fishing🤷🏾♂️ all the way up the delta
@CHASIN_A_BASS not for diving, though and I do a lot of that.
Interesting. Im ignorant to diving. What makes brackish waters bad for diving?
@@CHASIN_A_BASS can't beat the views.. brackish or not
