Agreed! 😂 We're talking about lifestyle
What is Loxley like?
I'm born and raised in Tampa Bay. Lower Alabama doesn't have New Yorkers which is a major plus.
Hello I believe Douglas, Ga region is best to move in because it’s in the central where it’s close by Atlanta, Ga, Flordia, and Alabama not too far from those area and it’s less traffic jam than bigger city it has good landscape view in rural area as well you can experience new folks in this city. Douglas, Ga is affordable and eco-friendly environment with many fun activity, and not much of water lakes, pond, and ocean these water area affect house by house flooded with water or it called flood damage. Although there is debris still scatter side of grass it’s still cleaning it up at the month of April 2025. There is old, and new house in Douglas, Ga region if you consider to purchase older house it can be revamp and more cleaning. Douglas, Ga landscape is a good grassland to watch sunset, and fishing in pond.
Thanks for watching! 😊

Alabama ranks one of the highest in incarcerations, especially black incarcerations, which brings less than one percent in pardons and release... Alabama is racist, you need to watch and be more educated on what you post

You’re welcome, we’re happy to share the truth! 😂
What are the insurance rates? My concern is flood zones; in Florida I was paying $500 a month and I wasn’t even on the water.
@jimp3878 We mention this in many of our videos! However, it really depends on your location and whether your home is Gold Fortified or not. On average, a new Gold Fortified home will cost around $1,500 a year, while a non-Gold Fortified home could be about double that. As for flood insurance, it’s only required if you choose a home in a flood plain, which isn’t very common unless you’re on or near the water.
@ thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate your expertise

It's interesting that the title included "...Relocating to Mobile Alabama..." while virtually NONE of what you discussed was actually about Mobile itself. You focused on the eastern shore area but not at all about Mobile itself.
We wanted to highlight some of the most popular areas connected to Mobile to give you a better idea of why it’s such an amazing central location. 😉
Just applied to a job within my company to move here. Hopefully I’ll get it
We'll be ready to help when you hear the good news!
About $17,000.00 per year per child to put in Private schools. Better off to live in Fairhope, Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. That have better to excellent schools!
That's true, but not everyone prioritizes good schools so it really depends on their individual needs.
Who in there right mind does not prioritize good schools? Also super schools help real estate values!
Thank you, I appreciate your videos. I’m thinking about relocating to the area
Thanks for watching! We'll be here when you need us 😉
Now that the New Uear is here, we are officially in the countdown to calling this whole area our home!!!❤

Is home owners ins less in Foley since it’s inland more than Fairhope, Spanish Fort etc?
@@meganstevens3318Ho ins depends on a lot of different factors.. It'll depend on the home’s location, age, condition, updates, etc. Properties in flood zones or high-risk areas will obviously require additional coverage, raising premiums, no matter which area you're in and updated features like a new roof, plumbing, electrical and HVAC will reduce costs. Then you have gold fortified homes or homes with Silver or Bronze standards that'll significantly lower premiums due to their storm resilience. Even details like water heater placement, like in the attic impact rates by reducing water damage risks. Ultimately, insurance costs are shaped by the home’s specific risk profile and its ability to withstand potential hazards. If you want to learn more, reach out anytime!

Love your videos. I was from Fort Lauderdale, and moved to Ono. A little quiet, but I love it here. Way too busy in Florida, and the heat is nonstop. It’s great to get some chilly weather and a break from the blazing Florida heat.
Thank you so much! Gglad you’re enjoying Ono, it’s such a peaceful and beautiful place to call home. I hear you about Florida..the nonstop hustle and heat can definitely wear you out. Getting some cooler weather and a slower pace is one of the best parts of living here. Welcome to the Gulf Coast life! It really is something special 😊
Great video
Thank you both ❤
Happy to help! ❤️
Foley was great like 10 years ago, but now it's overcrowded with terrible traffic. Doesn't feel like a small town at all anymore. Spanish Fort, Daphne, Loxley, Robertsdale or even Theodore are much smaller towns with less people.
You’re not alone in feeling that way. Foley has definitely grown a lot over the past decade, and with growth comes more traffic and a busier vibe. That said, it’s great that there are still smaller, quieter towns nearby, like Spanish Fort, Daphne, Loxley, Robertsdale, and Theodore, where you can find that small-town charm. Each of these areas has its own unique feel, so it’s nice to have options depending on what you’re looking for. Change isn’t always easy, but I like to think it’s a sign of the area’s popularity and appeal!
Happy New Year. I’m looking to move to Mobile (not final yet). I can’t drive-do you think it would be possible to get around reliably if I move there? Thanx!
HNY! I wouldn't move here based on our public transportation. There are many things going for us but that isn't one of them
Interesting that you seem to push Baldwin County and didn’t really mention much at all about Mobile.
Great observation! Baldwin County often gets a lot of attention in our videos because so many people are drawn to its small-town charm, coastal living, and unique communities. We all know Mobile is the powerhouse nearby, with incredible history, culture, and opportunities. It’s our hub that connects to so many great surrounding areas, which is part of what makes it such a valuable location. Thanks for watching! 😊
Im mexican american from SOCAL what about the racist enviorment?
Stay where you're at. Tony loves it there, if you want to make everything racist you're definitely a liberal, so stay in whatever liberal area you're from.
Amen to that.@@cmart7773
I've noticed that larger cities often seem more divisive and hateful compared to here in Alabama. People here are welcoming and friendly but they value the way things are and aren't particularly open to outsiders wanting to change it. Honestly, I can't blame em..we’ve got a really good thing goin here!
What about apartments in Gulf Shores that aren't as close to the beach area ?
Off-beach Gulf Shores apartments rent for $1,800-$3,000/month with prices around $200K-$350K. They offer steady demand, lower costs, and about 6-8% ROI.
The everyday traffic isn't the worst, but the drivers *are.* I've driven in Atlanta, Detroit, LA, and Dallas/Ft. Worth, and in the last eighteen years, I've found Mobile drivers to be the worst out of the five.
Can't argue with that! Thanks for watching 😊
I don’t know… born and raised in Fairhope, my parents and grandparents were too. These past 10 years have been insane with growth and my entire family has been priced out. Just consider that when you think of moving to Fairhope or Daphne. They are no longer the cute quaint towns they used to be. Stores used to be locally owned and now there 3 Publix. The soul of town has been stripped
To some, absolutely! But... It's all about perspective and how you choose to see the beauty in front of you. We on the other hand love it here!!
It doesn't flood here.
@@farrelllambeth1707 okay
You don't want to live here. Move to Pensacola. I-10 commute across the Bayway is going to be a nightmare for the next ten years. So many people are moving here that there are multiple 1,000 unit subdivisions in the works. The local infrastructure cannot handle it. Sewage overflows into the creeks and Bay are a common occurance as the system is overwhelmed. Baldwin County is also affected by what we call "equity funding" when it comes to taxes. That means we pay taxes that go to that black hole in Montgomery, of which gets dispersed to other areas of the state. We never get back what we pay in. Speaking of taxes, fuel taxes were raised to improve highway infrastructure like bridges and highways- in other parts of the state. Oh, you'll still pay those taxes, but Montgomery thinks that we are not deserving of tax funded projects like the I-10 Bridge and Bayway Project. No, Montgomery says we need to pay our way via tolls for that stretch of the Federal Interstate System. So that new bridge that we dont want will be a forced compliance toll bridge. Guvna MeeMaw thinks she knows best what we need and we need to pay tolls so that fuel tax money can be spent in other parts of the state. Did we mention hurricanes yet? Yeah. We are long overdue for a major hurricane in this area. Its not so bad if you educate yourself and make preparations early, like at the beginning of Hurricane Season, but most people won't do that. No, instead they run around 15 minutes before a storm hits in a major panic buying anything and everything they can get their hands on. It's worse than Black Friday shopping at Kmart. Do yourself a favor, skip Baldwin County. It's a mess here.
Thanks for the rant, definitely entertaining! You’re not wrong about a few things, but let’s pump the brakes a bit. The I-10 Bayway project? could be a mess in the making, but that’s what happens when people actually want to move here. You also never know! What if it works out and is a great success?! Either way, growth comes with headaches and traffic’s one of them, but at least we’re not sitting on I-275 in Tampa wondering if we’ll age a decade before we move a mile. As for sewage overflows, come on.. how often do you really see that? It is not like the streets are turning into brown lagoons. If it's a concern, reaching out to the Baldwin County Legislative Delegation is a good start and will probably do more than venting in UA-cam comments. And hurricanes? That is just coastal living! Most of us prep ahead and laugh at the chaos of last minute panic Kmart shoppers (it's been awhile since we've seen one of those). It's just part of the charm around here! Now taxes and tolls, yeah we are not fans either!! But... after living in Illinois this is a walk in the park. Montgomery may keep us on our toes, but Baldwin County delivers where it matters most n that's great communities, natural beauty and a lifestyle that is tough to beat! Bottom line: Baldwin County isn’t perfect, but for those of us who love it, it’s worth dealing with these small quirks. Personally, I think @miconn69 loves it here and is just trying to scare off potential newcomers to keep the charm intact! Well played, my friend, well played! 👏😂
LOL, you caught me on a bad day, BUT.... If you live here, I highly recommend that you follow Mobile Baykeeper. They are a great organization that tracks contaminants like wastewater and sewage spills into the Bay. While yes, I'll agree that the streets are not flowing with brown lagoons, I would highly recommend scraping the brown stuff off any fish caught in Mobile Bay before eating it. That's just me. As a member of a citizens advocate group for government accountability, there have been attempts to address the issue of the overwhelming of critical infrastructure due to overgrowth in the county. I have personally tried addressing this with my county commissioner and he stated that they would not be addressing sewage overflows with the municipalities because it could damage the working relationship between the county and the citt utilities in question. They pretty much just look the other way and hope it will eventually improve. You mention the differences between living here and living in Illinois. Well of course Baldwin County is a better place to live. Just because you are used to the high taxes and tolls up there doesnt mean we want them down here though. I do love Baldwin County and I hate seeing what has happened to it with the unbridaled growth. I've been here most of my life. I went school here and I raised a family here. My children are raising my grandchildren here and one day they will inherit land that was settled and homesteaded by their great-great-great grandparents (who now rest in a family cemetary 1/4 mile from our home). I know that growth is inevitable, but too much too fast is not good for the infrastructure or environment. ✌️😉
Everyone thinks AL is so inexpensive to live. I have lived here 68 years and it has gone from inexpensive to more expensive especially the coastal areas, Birimingham, and Huntsville. Even if you dont have a mortgage the insurance, utilities, groceries everything has doubled in cost the past 3-4 years. Even if your moving from where cost of living is higher and working remotely dont expect your pay to be the same, if you move to another state or city like AL, pay is not the same as jobs in Houston or Atlanta even if you work remotely, know people that thought that moved from Houston and Savannah and learned the hard way, your remote pay goes by cost of living where you live. Also, past 15 years AL has had people from NE mainly and some from West move or visit AL and have been extremely rude, entitled and made many costs go up so dont expect Southern hospitality or even a "bless your heart" anymore. Now, we hope for more hurricanes so they will all move back where they came from. Remember, this is a real estate ad and they will lie.
If things are truly as bad as you claim, why haven’t you moved? Calling us liars simply because we share our opinions seems unnecessary. Bless your heart..
@@LivingInLowerAlabama I never said AL was bad, just not for everyone. AL real estate is going up, and no one appreciates that. I am 68, have lived in AL my whole life and have seen people come and go, mostly because they will never really fit in. Now, Alabama locals are gracious up to a point but dont really want people moving to their towns especially if they are hardcore liberal, mostly because of the past several years of dealing with rude people and real estate agents. We will proudly wave the Trump signs.
NUMBER 1 thing you need to know is you will need to completely drop all your beliefs if they don’t align with ours. That’s political and religious beliefs, etc. You’ll need to choose a church to attend bc that will be one of the first questions asked to you. What church do you go to? It means a lot to us. You really need to try to adapt to the way things are here. We aren’t going to change for you. Also please don’t come bc we actually don’t want you here. YOU RAISE OUR COST OF LIVING. Stay up North and in California. So only move here if you are prepared to not be accepted at all, your kids to be bullied and isolated, if you don’t acclimate to how WE are here. Also your children will need to learn the Lord’s Prayer as it’s recited everyday in private school here. You don’t want your kid in Mobile public schools, do you?? NO.
Bless your heart! ❤️
I love our traffic. I will never take for granted after 4 years of living in Landover, Maryland.

I guess if you compare housing prices to cities like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, etc. the cost of housing here in Foley is substantially cheaper. However, if you are citizen of Foley and work in or around the Foley area, the wages do not reflect affordable housing. Foley and surrounding areas fall far below average income vs. cost of living. You, being in real estate would naturally overinflate the actual housing situation. No one can afford the cost of housing here in Foley, if you work in Foley. The main sources of income in Foley are restaurant workers, retail workers, hospitality workers, and other tourist-based businesses. These jobs do not afford the average citizen the ability of home ownership. I have lived and worked in Foley since 2012. I finally purchased a home in 2017. Since then, the price of my home has almost tripled in price. There is no way I could afford to purchase my home today. Why do you think the Foley area is inundated with RV parks? Not because of the snowbirds or tourons, but because of the many, many blue-collar workers who can't afford to rent housing, much less, purchase a home. Affordable housing for blue-collar workers my ass.
We love your comment and perspective! It’s clear you have a lot of insight into the housing situation here. We also moved here as blue-collar workers back in 2016 and bought a house right away. Since then, we’ve moved several times, and we don’t make excuses for our situation. If we want something, we simply adapt and change what we need to do to achieve it. That being said, you're right-many average people tend to settle for mediocrity and come up with excuses. However, those who are willing to work hard can definitely make things happen. We've actually helped several construction and retail workers find homes here, thanks to the affordable prices and low interest rates available. It’s important to remember that homeownership is achievable with the right mindset and resources. Taking the initiative to explore different financing options, understanding the local market, and being open to various neighborhoods can make a significant difference. By seeking support from the top relocation team in ALL of Lower Alabama, who understands the needs of blue-collar workers, you can gain valuable insights and guidance too. Ultimately, it's all about determination and finding the right opportunities!
@@LivingInLowerAlabamathat’s just realtor speak to sell homes. It’s not based in reality.
@@mimig123 The reality is affordability can be a real challenge in Foley. However compared to big cities like LA, NY, CHI... Foley still offers more accessible homeownership opportunities. Rising prices show growth, but they also point to the need for more affordable housing options. There are programs for first-time buyers and developments for all budgets that can help. Ask us about them or watch more of our videos...we’re happy to share info and help, even if we don’t work together! We’re not here to sell you anything, just to share what we know. Foley should be a place where everyone can thrive and that’s what we’re working toward. A little positivity goes a long way!
Great video
everything they say in this video is 100 true, it was such a hard decision to pick which place to move to from Ohio, we settled on Daphne because it is situated in the middle of Fairhope and Spanish Fort as well as it is still a close drive to the gulf, we couldn't be happier. the best thing about these communities is they are are just a short drive to each other
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching and your support, JAY!!
I notice all the dogs in your various videos? Ia LA dog friendly? I am looking for a community with lots of dog friendly activities and people who share my love of dogs. Are there non-kill shelters and dog rescues in Baldwin County? I live out of state but my home is currently listed by an eXp realtor who is amazing and her ethics/integrity are what is drawing me to watch your videos and possibly connecting with you. Are you available to do phone consultations even if my home is not under contract yet? I have many questions. Thank you so much.
Yes, of course! Lower Alabama is incredibly dog friendly with lots of activities, pet-friendly beaches (not all of them), and people who love dogs as much as we do. We have no kill shelters like the Baldwin County Humane Society and others dedicated to animal welfare. Daphne just built a brand new $4 million shelter with modern amenities, plenty of space for dogs and cats and outdoor play areas. It's a fantastic addition to the community. We’re happy to do a phone consultation anytime, even if your home isn’t under contract yet. Just set up a time through calendly.com/yourrealestatefam and we'll go over all your options. Looking forward to chatting!
Great info guys, appreciated.
Thanks for watching! We're here for you 😉
