I just bought one yesterday and it's now my favorite guitar. I like many other people can't afford high end instruments. So I'm very appreciative of the guys at PRS because this thing looks, sounds, and plays like a dream. Rock on everyone!!!!
Just got one yesterday and wow this guitar sounds and plays like a dream. In my country even the Se lineup guitars are considered expensive so when you guys came out with this at 500$ this was a game changer. Previously i could only hope to even own a Prs se custom 24 even though it only looks like a few hundred dollars, to us it is like a lot more expensive , taxes gets added only adding to the price. So when this came out it is a lot cheaper compared to the other se models but sounds similar and the feel is even better with the satin neck tbh. Honestly i will be a lifelong prs customer and will definitely one day own a core custom 24.

Thanks Bryan! Amazing how the PRS team has now brought the SE line to virtually any budget with the SE CE Standard Satin, and with coil taps yet, well done!

Measured the action at about 1.7mm low E, 1.25mm high E at 12th fret with no dead spots or buzzing. Perfectly straight neck (slight relief) and intonation. Highly recommend checking these new SEs out if you're in the market.
This is a crazy good deal. I have a US CE limited edition with a metalic blue finish (all mahogany body), and it's amazing. It's the easiest playing guitar I've ever touched, and the tonal possibilities are very diverse. I'm guessing the tonal differences between mine and this are going to be minimal. It's crazy that a guitar of this quality which far surpasses what I was able to get used in 1990 for a similar price adjusted for inflation is available new. This guitar can literally be a student's first guitar, or something you'd find in a recording studio or on tour.
this is the first SE I've played that tonally actually sounds as good as the core, the pickups are brutal and the bolt on is 900% better at vibration transfer than the normal SE overseas set neck joint
Guess I could clarify, I have one, and you could too. Buy a CE-24, ship it to PRS, have them do the mod and enjoy. It ain't cheap (what PRS is lol), but if you love your CE 24 and plan on it being a lifer it's well worth the cost. Mine had a finish problem (made during the covid insanity). It was in for warranty repair of the finish. So yeah anyway they drill the holes and just do a complete hardware swap and send your original switch and pots back with the guitar.

It is really something to me that I can really hear in the beginning of the video that it is a PRS guitar being played. It sounds exactly like the guitar tone that Opeth has in so many of their songs, and they also play PRS guitars, it is the exact the same in the beginning of this video as in many Opeth songs , EXACT. Before I thought all guitars sounded the same, what amp and effects you use alters the sound the most. But after hearing PRS guitars in Opeth songs for a while now and other places, I have really come to love the sound of PRS guitars, and it truly have its own character in sound that is special for PRS guitars. If you listen to Santana, Opeth and many other musicians that plays PRS, you can really hear that characteristic PRS tone, it is amazing. I could not tell that with many other guitar brands, that "this must be Ibanez, or this must be Gibson. But with Fender and especially PRS , I can really tell in a lot of music when a PRS guitar or Fender strat for example is being used. I love guitars like that. The fact that you can get a guitar with such a special nice sound and quality like the PRS SE Standard 24 for under 600€ is amazing to me.
I truly enjoy Paul causing Fender and Gibson some sleepless nights. #3 Manufacturer and rising. If it were not for the pressure I don't think the Big Boys would be innovating suddenly. I love my Fenders and Gibsons, but they did seem mired in their own corporate culture. Thoughts?

I really want the PRS SE line to add one more McCarty 594 singlecut option to their lineup that has a tremelo system. Currently the Mark Tremonti one is the only one that I know of but it has different pickups. Please add an option for a tremolo system on the McCarty 594 singlecut with the standard pickups. Epiphone finally has one now with their Ruby Alex Lifeson signature Les Paul, but I'm sure PRS could make a better version for less money just by simply adding a trem system to their already great McCarty 594 singlecut. Update: It appears that Epiphone dropped the ball on their Alex Lifeson model and replaced it with a newer version. It's missing the piezo and somehow it still costs 400 more than the previous model. So now you're paying 1,300 for an Les Paul with a tremolo system. I know PRS has the potential to offer a better quality LP style/singlecut body with a tremolo for less money than Epiphone. I really hope they do it. All they have to do is put a trem system on a singlecut 594, change the price, and sell it as a new model. It'll fly off the shelves.
Beautiful guitar and beautiful playing Bryan. Can you describe the settings, pedals, effects, etc. you used for your intro and outro pieces. Gorgeous tone and sustain.

I got mine Wednesday 2/28. I love the finish, the weight (mine was 7lbs) , the satin neck (although it could just be me, playing up/down the neck I can really feel the frets...they're not sharp per say just very present...almost uncomfortable. Guess I need to get used to it.) Love the color..the smaller body....the tuners are really responsive meaning a tiny turn and the pitch changes unlike other guitars at this price point where you turn the tuners and nothing...then all of a sudden the pitch jumps too much ! Although it's only been 48hrs, the only thing I wish PRS had done with this model would have been to make the front edge all around the body either as rounded as the back or at least a little rounded. I can see during the warmer months wearing a T shirt or having your arm more exposed how that might feel because it's not a smooth edge. All n' all for the price point, it's nice guitar. Thus far, very happy with it !
