I’ve made bao a few times since you posted this video and there is a world of difference in how they look! Thank you so much for posting this, especially for concentrating on how to finish the pleats! I love my beautiful bao! Now they look as good as they taste!
this is awesome. adding corn starch in making meat stuffing is the key to keep it juicer. This is the part I was always wondering and failed for a couple of times. right now I surely know
The first baozi i ever made was this recipe, and it was one of the best I've ever had. What a throwback. Thanks for teaching me how to make buns and your other recipes like mapo tofu.
I am so happy to see this recipe and tutorial. There is only one Chinese restaurant near me that makes these but they barely have any filling. Now I can make them the Mikey way! ❤️
It’s a great recipe! I cooked it based on the old video with my sister, subbing chicken for pork (I’m allergic). Besides my terrible pleating it still tasted delicious!
Ok! What sorcery IS THIS!?!? I was just researching how to make those 🤯🤯 and here you are with an an awesome recipe. Going with YOUR recipe cuz I trust your eats
I was surprised to see this in my notifications. It's been at least one year since I've seen anything from this channel so I thought you'd dropped it. In any case I ate some tasty pork buns yesterday and now you've got me wanting to make my own.

Hi t y for sharing May I know what kind of flour do you use to make softer& whiter I bet it’s delicious t y again makes me hungry more blessing to you & yours ❤️🙏
Hi Mikey, can you fry the pork 1st before putting it in the bun filling? I think I prefer it that way, thinks it locks in all the nice seasonings and would make it even tastier. 🤗🥰😍

I have made these, but a different recipe, the one that I use cooks the filling first and let it cool, and slightly different filling ingredients, the dough recipe is the same, but cooking time is 12 minutes steamed, comes out like yours, fatty goodness in the dough 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
You can carbon date this by Mikey's haircut and his Vancouver t-shirt lol. Love this recipe though, glad you're keeping it around!
😂😂😂
Also by the kitchen
I was able to tell by just the quality. It looks old .. haha and how he filmed
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for going over the folds several times with different camera angles. Was really helpful!

This looks like a great recipe Mikey you make it look so easy ..The buns are tender and I think would go well with some chopped up pork belly ..x❤️🥰
Awesome job Mikey
Thanks so much for sharing its beautiful and delicious and fun your amazing
Mike as always a great cooking lesson
Yum. In Seattle area they have them baked, not just steamed. I miss here in Utah.
Glad you started this! Love it!
Mike, Please give me the info on your favorite wok again. I did buy 2 and love them, I want to give them as gifts this holiday season.

If you want a shortcut get Rhodes frozen rolls their dough makes a good wrapper.
Love the retro:) Thank you Mike! Looks so good!!!
Steamed pork bun for breakfast is a good way to start the morning with some siew mai and a cup of teh tarik
Are you a Malaysian/Singaporean?
Man you make it look pretty easy Mike I've done it twice no and still working on the pleating.
Mikey you're a very good cook. I will be making these this week. Thanks for sharing

Bloody brilliant

Can you please make a soup dumpling recipe video!! :)
Fab recipe. Cook the buns on a low heat otherwise the first batch may be rubbery.
it's def the best when it's made from scratch
Thanks.. you are a sweetheart.
is mirin a good substitution for chinese cooking wine?
Why was a part of this video flagged??!!!! lmao..... this is a cooking video good lord

Could share a link of where you get your bamboo steamer please?
I trust more of what you use
It's nice to see young Mikey 😁🥰
You can tell this is an older video by Mike's hairstyle, and how much thinner he looks here lol
You low key just called him fat 🔥
Lol more like he bulked up
You just called Mikey Chin fat!!!

How about a recipe for Char SIU BAO
Hey Mike, if you’re in Chicago, I heard about this place called Wow Bao. I’m wonder what your input would be on it.
When you pulled the lid off to show the steamed buns, I could smell the bamboo.
I am so excited for this, but I cannot watch more food videos right now. 💕 ya Mikey
Can we use something else besides pork? Like salmon or beef, turkey , chicken?
I need to learn dumplings.
From which timeline did you rip this video from?
Sadly, the flour you recommended is not available on Amazon and it is unknown when it will be back in stock.
Please share your 生煎包 recipe if you have one, Mikey :D
Yummmmmm! 🥰💗
The hardest part for me was not overstuffing it with the pork. Lol.
What is .4 water
Is .4, 1/4 cup of water?
And today Mikey rediscovers his cooking channel :D (okay apparently two weeks ago :P I blame youtube)
1:16 Mike's Spidey Sense~
Is it Hong Kong flour ?
Yum
This is an old video, but that's some damn good buns☺
"A man who hasn't eaten pork bun, is never a whole man"
random pork bun seller in hong kong
When I'm lazy I just buy pizza dough and premade pork filling (with herbs and spices) from the supermarket. Really speeds up the process
Broccoli would be perfect too!
neat
So Mikey is starting to transfer his cooking videos from SD to this channel... I see❤
SD = ?
How old is this video?
every time i get anything that resembles asian food, i throw on Mikey immediately so i can eat with him.
Yo tell Babish he needs to make the supernatural turdunken sandwich..
Or y'all make it together....
Dude you should have Simu Liu over and cook for him.
That poor sign in the beginning xD
damn a reupload
For several horrified seconds, I thought he bit into a raw pork bun at the beginning as part of a bit omg
Why does young Mikey do cooking videos like present day Quang Tran?
Channel collaboration with yourself 😆
Anything can go in there? What about broccoli and cheese? Or just steamed broccoli? wink wink
Delicious but a missed opportunity to plug your chili oil.
This is a reupload. Don't think his chili oil was out then.
80 degrees atmosphere eh .... well .... we ll need to buy a sun then .... lets Amazon .. Sun .... oh dear ...
