- The plaintiff says the defendant is his ex, who he claims has been avoiding him since they broke up even though she owes him money. He’s suing her for repayment of two loans. The defendant says he never worked during their five years together and she was the one paying all the bills.
Case 29-092
FOUR DUIs?? You should be in prison for 20 years on the third strike...
4 DUI's over a 30 year period isn't something to be proud of like he seems to think it is. It's a blatant disregard for the law and the other people he puts at risk. Clearly he's learned nothing in 30 years.
It's like he's bragging that he only got caught 4 times in 30 years.
No, what he’s doing is a typical addiction tactic which is called minimizing. He’s not an alcoholic because it’s not like the 4 arrests happened in a few years…it was over 30 years. That’s a long time in between. Addictions 101
That is what you call being in denial fr..
I have a hard time paying for car insurance with zero tickets in the last 30 years.
How do you keep insurance with 4 DUIs?
@@katroyal6309actually he got 4 in a 3 year span the judge was saying 4 in a 30 year span is too many
The alcoholic denialism is something serious. They’re both drunks but he’s going to kill someone.
Right, at least she recognizes her problem
@@shaydaslays ya I feel like she the type to just drink at home till she pass out. While he the type to try and go out and drink

Ewww lol I have an older cousin that had an essence of alcohol. She can never function without it. She had a seizure one time when she didn’t have a drink
They both looked so steeped in alcohol.

I would lay odds that Chris is under the influence of alcohol during his testimony.
I immediately thought the same thing as soon as he started talking. Also, I think that she needed a drink, that’s why her hands were shaking.
I am kinda glad to see that at least 28 other people thought this... Something about his slouch, slow speach, dulled mind, etc left me to believe if not drunk, he must have a hang over (than remembering this is the People's Court commentary, I was nervous about saying something.)
I'm surprised the judge couldn't smell the alcohol on him across the room.
Bet they both are
I disagree, he drank all night and then skipped the booze for the court case, you can see how sick he is without his alcohol. As soon as the case was over he probably had to drink immediately to level back out
I love that alca-logic "Four in a thirty year span". Good job sir. Way to rationalize!
Can we all agree for every dui a person has there is likely a plethora of dui they didn't catch charges for? Let's just be real folks.
Bottom line is he's only been caught 4 times out of the hundreds of times he's been on the road loaded. By observing him, he appears that he hasn't sobered up yet. She looks to be a heavy drinker, as well. Hopefully, she's more responsible and doesn't drive while under the influence or at least hasn't been caught. It's frightening know people drive all day and night with no concern about others on the road.
you got that right
MANY MANY MANY they never got caught for
i know he didn’t say he doesn’t have a problem
with four DUI’s😭😭😭😭
Drink, get drunk fall down, NO PROBLEM! LOL. That reminds me of a story. Back when i was in my 20's (30+ years ago, i am 60 now). There was a local crowd nwalking through town, so asked whats going on, the all had drink, get drunk, fall down t shirts. They said "we are the Dipsomniacs and every 3 months we go thru downtown York PA and have a beer at every bar. so thats about 22 bars in a couple hours.
I makes me quite angry as it's not just himself he puts at risk with the behavior. He's going to kill someone just going about their business and devastate a family and community. He tries to minimize it "...over a 30 year period...". You KNOW he drives drunk all the time, they only CAUGHT him 4 times in 3 decades. Absolutely disgusting.
@@Degorff pub crawl. I can't imagine how people can drink so much. Or why they want to
That was bad
This guy is a jerk. Thanks for putting everyone on the road at risk a$$hole.
This whole case is sad.. to genuinely think you don't have a problem when you have 4 dui's and letting the dog shit all over the house is heartbreaking. Both of you would benefit from the gift of putting the bottle down.
Yes the dog 🥺
Hmm he needs to run 🏃♂️ to AA.

This man sued his Ex just to be petty. He came to court with zero evidence and wasted everyone's time. It's time to grow up dude. Then again, this is the same person with 4 DUIs. Major respect for JM saying 1 DUI is too many for one lifetime.
I like when ppl w/ substance abuse problems like to excuse their bad behavior!
Him : ...the 4 DUIs were after a period of time!
Smh, a person in denial will never get better!
I feel conflicted knowing people might retort with "it's a disability and he has no control over it."...
Somehow that denial does not feel justified.
His rationalizing 4 DUIs is disturbing.
I would have asked him if anyone had been hurt in those 4 DUI's.
Is it still called a DUI if you hit someone?
@@Maninawig
A DUI can be part of anything driving related. Thus the "D." Some states use Operating Under the influence.
@@bluebassett2 yeah, but you normally don't hear someone being charged with trespassing when they break into a home and murder someone...
So I was wondering if they called it something else that implies DUI was involved
@@Maninawig If you kill someone because you're driving drunk, they call it DUI manslaughter.
If you have a prior DUI conviction and you do that, it's called DUI murder.
I think it should simply be called murder either way, because you chose to consume the alcohol & you chose to drive while drunk. There is no way you don't know what could happen. And there's no way you can afford to pay $5.00-$10.00 per drink in a bar but you can't afford a Lift or Uber. (not YOU personally lol)
It's a conscious decision one makes, knowing the risk to innocent lives. Despicable.
@@JamieM470 I agree. Guess the charge includes a DUI, but people just drop that in speach. My bad
I used to feel the same way about drug addicts, what fools they must be, and then I met the harsh reality’s of life. There are a lot of things that cause unhappiness in life, sometimes it feels good to feel good.
Absolutely! It may not be an excuse but at times people are prepared to do anything to escape their grave unhappiness and it only makes sense when you've been there for yourself
People do get help and clean up. Look at supposedly hopeless cases like Robert Downey Jr and Drew Barrymore, both of whom had pretty painful upbringings. I think if you asked them, they'd say they were happier clean than drowning in booze to escape their problems. It's extremely hard to do, but possible.
@@davemathews7890 Been clean for over 5 years now,And i agree i am happier clean,But when i used it was to escape my unhappiness and problems, but as soon as u sober up its even worse,Its hard to get out of,But life is better sober.
I pray for all struggling with any type of addiction. It starts as fun, then it becomes survival for some of them. People don’t talk about the people who die, once they become clean.
addiction is a disease. a literal disease.
the plaintiff said 4 dui's in 30 yrs was some kind of small deal. the drunk couldve killed someone(s). geeeez. ppl, stop drinkin an drivin.😳😳😳
I get why he clarified... It is a big deal, but he was honest and did not want the first half to be understood as "4 in the last year." Still horrible.
Give the man his credit. As much as they probably drink, only having 4 is probably a good number.
@@DavidKen878 nah mane. 1 is too much.🙄🙄
@@DavidKen878 laws of averages dude. Ubhaggled posted an article saying people caught Ina DUI claimed they got away with it, on average, 87 times. Assuming that is correct, 4×88 (including the time caught) is 352 times we can assume the guy was drunk behind the wheel. Nearly a whole year.
While it is true that one can drink and drive at night, they did break up when he had been drinking during the day, and he did have a poor employment records, which statistics tell us he is more likely to be a day drinker.
That means that over the course of 30 years, he has put the lives of at least 352 children at risk... Considering kids normally walk with friends, and trying to be conservative with groups of 3, that brings up his total of possible homicides to 1,052 small children.
Do you still think 1,052 children at risk is "probably a good number"?

'Mad money' is essential for sanity's sake, I think.
I can see a loan being drawn up... He's saving up for a fishing trip, she's saving up for a spa day... He sees that she is feeling glum and decides she could use the day out more than him.
He loans her his half so she can go out sooner, but with the promise that she'll give him her future savings until it is paid back so that he doesn't miss out completely on his personal day.
Same with me and my hubs

I hate couples cases. They’re boring and petty.

I agree. I usually skip by them.😩 I like the type of cases such as homeowners vs construction or neighbors and their fences, etc. 😄
Police and the justice system keep letting this guy get DUI's. Bet this guy has NEVER done any serious jail time for his repeat, repeat, and repeat DUI's. When he finally kills a family of four, nobody will be able to sue the lenient police and justice system for allowing him to constantly return to the roads and highways. If the system could be held accountable for its lax DUI punishment, it wouldn't allow these sick individuals to repeatedly return to the roads.
I totally agree with you. For him to be able to get 4 DUI and not be jailed is ridiculous.
It isn't the cops job to take this man license away. The enforce the law. The cops are doing a good job if he been caught four different times dwi. It's the court that has failed.

Alcohol addiction is wrecking so many lives. The things we are fooled to believe are enjoyable are the bane of many thwarted dreams. Hope we will come to our senses quickly.

Of all the ways you can explain the situation with the dog, I’m not sure “crapped all over” was the best choice of words for court...though to be fair, it’s also not the worst.
Gosh, they both look like worn out alcoholics! I'm glad he didn't win his case....he'd have just run to the liquor store to spend it up and get another 4 DUI's.
WTH was he allowed to get 4 DWI's? He should have served jail time the first time! By the 3rd he should have been sent to prison!
I think I know why these cases come up so often... Comingle is such a fun word to say!

You can tell the dude is feeling sick and needs to hurry up and drink as soon as the court case is over. When you drink that much you can’t go long without booze or you start feeling like death, and you can see it all over his face.

They were meant for each other, pretty sure they got back with each other after the case
I don't know. I got the impression that she moved on. It was like two bad people living together. For her, he became a reflection in a mirror. At least these two will not be together. Two people with addiction problems will always sink each other.
I am different i think both parti9es monies are the same, so all debts incurred by us are ours, not hers or mine. we do have some debts that we keep separate, like credit cards. I have no issues paying for her car because i use it. same with all our bills. Things like my credit cards (we use them together) are sperate from her so if something happens to me she does not retain my debt. In our instance i make 998 a month she makes 32k a year so i add a small amount of money to our debt, she pays more and frankly i would starve if she didn't exist. I pay all our bills but i always show her our records so she knows what is going on daily.
A) that last sentance is vital, so thank you for adding that.
B) some states apperantly don't acknowledge commonlaw. Ergo pooling is not understood when it comes to splitting the debts.
They both look like they only have alcohol for their meals. Really ages you.
How was he buying her gifts but not paying any bills??? 🤔
From what I got, she was just trying to paint him out to be the villain. He was on unemployment and used that to pay his share, making up what he missed between cheques, but because he was "technically" unemployed, she wanted to make it sound like he rarely had money.
@@Maninawig I feel the same! Then she changed it from not paying to splitting the rent some times! I'm sure w/ his issues he was unemployed frequently, but she did paint him as NEVER contributing.
@@melinadistrict9428 due to personal experiences, I am actually super sensitive to the wording trick... People who tend to pull the show focus on how much they do and not what little others do. "He's always between jobs, so I'm paying 70-90% of the food, the bills (sometimes itemized), the rent..."
But people who are just trying to tear the other person down tend to focus on that one thing to make them sound good.
"He's a drunk that can never hold a job! Poor me."
"Umm, I do contribute my unemployment cheques"
"Err... Well he never pays the rent. No matter what! He is horrible!"
(For an example to continue) "True, but I do buy the food and pay the bills."
"But..."
