    great channel. I teach motor vehicle in colleges and you have a great approach. I like how you riddle your theory with examples and anecdotes. thanks for sharing. Ben

    I wonder if your students know just how lucky they are to have a teacher like you , there aren't many left around that know the older stuff to the newest around any more . I have been working on cars for over 25 years some professional some hobby and still every time I watch your video's I learn something new . thank you for all your skills and teaching .

    Terrific job. The experience shows. Haven't listened in on a decent emissions class in 20 years. Yours was much more than decent

      @@robinsonsauto This UA-cam channel is geared toward exactly that... Quite a few guys tell me that they got their ASE certs by watching this channel.

    I have a dodge Dakota 87 that didn't pass smog? What should I do? To make it pass?

    Saw the animation, the injector jets before the intake valves are opening? Aren't they injecting during the intake stroke?

    • @McCuistian
      @McCuistian  Рік тому

      Nope - they're injected right before the intake valve opens on Port Fuel injection - GDI is different though... injects right into the cylinder with very high pressure.

      @@McCuistian Thank you for answering! OMG, all this time I always thought that the port injectors spray while the intake valve starts to open, though always wondering how is dealt the variable injection time in regard with fixed valve opening time. Now its clear, so the mixture is created inside the intake duct and it waits for the valve to open to be sucked inside the cylinder? I always thought the mixture is created while the air travels by the valve while the injector sprays on !

      @McCuistian  Рік тому

      @@cipriansofineti346 it's only there very briefly before being swept into the cylinder as the intake valve is opened... 😁

      @@McCuistian I assume the injectiction commences during the second half of exhaust stroke or so ?

      @McCuistian  Рік тому

      @@cipriansofineti346 The cam sensor on port injection units I've worked with and tested makes its switch at 24 degrees after top dead center on the power stroke to make sure all the fire has gone out in the cylinder. The window for injection takes place after that.

    spark plugs in a diesel for explorer? what?

    • @McCuistian
      @McCuistian  2 роки тому +1

      An Explorer was "dieseling" meaning it kept running with the key switched off. It wasn't a diesel.
