    I learned something. Wish I would have known it about 2 weeks ago. Low pressure on high and low sides with a good charge means stuck txv. That is a golden nugget of info right there.

      Also might mean you have low freon in the system. Or weaker ac compressor

    If only chillers, air handlers, RTUs, etc. was this simple. It took me years to master every brand / type and things still change it’s a constant study.

    Thank you, Sir for your great teaching. Is it right to say that you will get 12 v on the pcm ground controlled pin (86) when the pcm energizes the relay?

    • @TheCoatneyadkins
      @TheCoatneyadkins 4 роки тому +1

      No, If it's a good ground , voltage should be very low on the ground side when the circuit is complete and energized. ...that's for every circuit.

    • @TheCoatneyadkins
      @TheCoatneyadkins 4 роки тому +1

      The only time voltage would be about battery voltage on the ground side of a circuit is in a circuit with a motor, like say the fuel pump, when it IS NOT running, the ground side voltage will be high, but when you turn the fuel pump on, if everything is ok with the circuit, the ground side voltage will drop very low to almost nothing, Because the voltage is being consumed by the motor.

      Mr. Richard how you deal with the newer systems that only have one sensor on the high side and have variable displacement compressors when the orifice is blocked??

    just curious if expansion valve was clogged wouldnt there be high high side and low low side pressure

    • @lostincause3418
      @lostincause3418 6 років тому

      Depends... If the txv is clogged it wont have enough refrigerant flowing to absorb heat to raise the head pressure. So it will look like both low suction and low head, which looks like low gas. Someone will add gas and walk away, and that will create high head and low suction when the next tech arrives.

    Great video as usual. Am I to understand that current has to go through the diode first before getting to the clutch coil?

    • @McCuistian
      @McCuistian  5 років тому +1

      No - it can't go through the diode in that direction - but the spike that happens when the A/C clutch is de-energized chases its tail through the diode instead of screaming back through the rest of the circuit - which would damage electronics.

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 2 роки тому

      No it keeps the power from back feeding into other components a diode only allows power to travel in one direction like a check valve

    was the system sealed when u found 60% air... If it was sealed how did all there air get in. what about the recovery machine, when u recover 134 out of one system does it just make its way into another system. how does that all work... does it just not go bad as long as its not been contaminated. thanks for the videos... im trying to understand this on your level of knowledge

    • @McCuistian
      @McCuistian  6 років тому

      That particular vehicle was one that a student had worked on at home - he had replaced the accumulator and recharged it without evacuating the air. When the air goes into the refrigerant tank, it remains a gas and is above the refrigerant in the tank and can be purged by releasing it. The air doesn't condense into a liquid like the refrigerant does.

    That's a REALLY FAST run through of the automotive hvac system, not so sure if someone with zero prior hvac knowledge would be able to follow along and make heads and tails of everything going that fast or not.
