I once saved a baby bearded dragon from PetSmart because it had drowned in the water bowl, but I told my mom it wasn't moving and she said it was ok, so I ran to an employee and told them to open the cage so I could get it out, so I got it out and tried to give it CPR😂, I squeezed it softly then water shot out of his mouth and nose, then he woke back up, everybody called me a life saver, they gave him to me for free and I still have him now, he is big and healthy now 😀
@@isuckatnamingthings5499I don't know if i could make a video on him, but he is a very happy beardie but i have noticed some things wrong like him not growing as fast as he should. I think it could be because i dont have strong enough lighting or that i am feeding him mealworms. Ive heard alot of things like meal worms can be bad for a beardie so i have thought of getting some dubia roaches for him if you have any links or anything like that for good lighting for bearded dragons that would be great!
Thank you so much @HilmJosh. I’ve only been able to get mill worms from my local pet shop lately and have been looking for an online option for dubias for my bearded dragon. And @Prosperity Vaxni that is the cutest story I’ve ever heard. I really hope your bearded dragon is thriving and lives a long happy life as hopefully mine will. Also, especially if your dragon is still young don’t forget to powder their food with calcium and other vitamins. I often neglect to do this myself and even though my bearded dragon is full grown I still feel bad every time I remember I forgot to do that. Also, provide your beardie with a variety of leafy greens and the occasional fruit. I often just give Ali my bearded dragon whatever I find in my fridge after a quick google search. Siri has been a great help in finding what my dragon can and can’t eat. I hope that was helpful for you.
Prosperity Vaxni hi! mealworms should rarely be given because they are hard to digest. dubia roaches are the best insects to feed so i really recommend that. as for the lighting, they need heat coming from a heat bulb ideally 115-125 degrees. they also need uvb. do you have a compact uvb? if you do then i highly recommend getting a liner uvb because the compact ones don’t give off enough uvb, can cause eye problems, and only give off uvb to one spot in the tank. the uvb bulb should fill at least 3/4 of the tank. also how many gallons is your tank?
My female dragon is nearly 15 years old now. She's so old she barely moves and I'm pretty sure she's almost blind so she's since been downgraded to a 30gallon enclosure to make it easier for her to get to her water bowl and basking/ resting areas. She also gets hand fed to make sure she's eating as she tends to not eat out of bowls anymore. Surprisingly she just had a full beautiful shed so it seems she still has some time left ❤️
Thanks everyone, she's still around even now, over 15 years old. We know we are on borrowed time with her as she's really showing her age, but she doesn't appear to be in pain so we just make every day we have left as comfortable as possible
Great care guide man as always. I have a couple suggestions for people and maybe you. When you hold bearded dragons they appreciate having their tail supported otherwise they tend to flail around(as seen above lol). Also when you transition your dragon from baby food(insects) to adult food(more greens) I have found that it really helps if you mixed brightly colored veggies or fruits with the leafy greens. They seem to really like things that are red and orange. When they try to get those they will inadvertently eat the greens aswell. Mine two 11 year old dragons do not like greens at all but I can trick them into eating them most of the time. I also supplement with vitamin powders and the canned dry bearded dragon food. For some reason they love that stuff
Beardies are so personal about their food! My old dragon really disliked his greens, and wanted crickets and mealworms and only unhealthy veggies that should have been treats. My new young beardie loves his bugs but also loves his greens! Not so hot on carrots, they're "okay". But he has a morning routine of wax worms, big mouthfuls of kale/collard greens/broccoli, then crickets. And he dives face-first into his salad bowl for pre-bedtime munchies and goes nuts. So glad he isn't picky! Current salad is kale, bok choy leafs, and a bit of beardie pellets. He's been finishing a big bowl full lately even after So Many Crickets. Little dude is growing faster than the chart said he would.
Can I ask one of you a question other than the set up and actual purchase of a bearded dragon. But how much do you usually pay for food and where should I buy one I tend to hear pet co or pet smart can be a very bad idea to buy from . Im sorry to bother
@@nightriderghost1784 Retyping since it didn’t appear. You should always buy from a trusted breeder. Don’t go buy the cheapest beardie you can find, as they might be wild caught/sickly. Go for a healthy beardie. They will be more expensive from a breeder, but only because they’re healthier, saving you money on vet trips. For the first 6-10 months of owning my beardies I was spending $50 USD every 10 days. You could get an adult and then spend wayyy less on food, but you’ll miss out on bonding and watching them grow. NEVER HAVE THEM TOGETHER. If you wanna know more, contact me on discord kickynn#9335
"Always compliment your dragon" LOL Of course! That's reptile care 101! We're just waiting for our local shop to get the beardies in, and then we'll have ours! So excited!
My daughter is getting her first dragon tomorrow, she has been waiting for this for about a year. She was a helper for our Martial Arts Schools dragon 3 years ago, so we are all used to their care. She is excited, and I think I am more excited than she is, but as Mom, I know I will be giving treats and love often. Thanks for the extra tips.
Finally a careguide that promotes loose natural substrate! Digging is so important for them, not only for egg laying but for enrichment too. Thank you! 🙏🏻 Also the hight, mine climbs around all the time and he's in a 4x2x2 which is definitely a minimum. I'd love to give him a bigger size when I move house. And I agree, they're not beginners reptiles, they're difficult and pretty expensive. Also for you Europeans reading this, HID uvb lights from solar raptor or reptech are even better uvb lights but unavailable outside Europe. 😊
Mine's in a 4x2x2 bioactive and has plenty of space to run around, but I still feel he needs a bigger enclosure. He'll be getting something like 6 or 8x4x4 once I figure out if I'm moving soon or not. Don't really want to start the build or get it all set up, then have to try to move the damn thing.
Please follow these. I was an ignorant kid when I got mine. I didn’t know how to care for him so he didn’t get proper care. He still has permanent things to this day despite that he now has a better home. The guilt I feel is the strongest thing ever. I can never forgive myself. I’m telling you this to make better out of my horrible mistakes.
@@eh5x672je8 They're going really well! I've definitely had some hiccups along the way. Ori, my beardie, has a big bloated belly. I've taken her to 3 different vets now and everyone says she's healthy besides one that recommended a surgery and the other vets said that she more than likely wouldn't make it out since they have such a hard time being put under. So, I've been just taking it day by day. She's a good sweet girl. Usually eats really great and loves hanging with the pups. So it's been a really cool experience. They're incredible animals.
Nice care guide man! I definitely agree that bearded dragons need at least a 4x2x2. I think it’s stupid when people say that beardies shouldn’t live on loose substrate and should live in a 40 gallon.
Mine is just a baby. Maybe a little more than two months old. I have him in a 20 gallon rn because that’s what I had. But imma upgrade him asap! Aka: when my job decides to pay me 😂
My Goober is always hand fed. He's in his uv light all day and and and a side heater on the side. I actually let him fall asleep in a blanket in my lap at night
Just found your channel! I’ve nearly had my beardie for a year now, he’s very happy and well fed and quite the character! I’m watching your videos to help educate me more on them, I’m not sure how old he was when I first got him but he was the size of my thumb.
You can estimate a dragons age by the length of their body, there's like size charts you can find online. Based on him being so small when you first got him I'd say he'd be around barely hatched to 1 month old.
@@WickensWickedReptiles turns out my beardie was a girl, she’s still got a personality and is about to lay her first eggs! We rescued a neglected male and he’s gotten so much healthier and happier. (They’re kept separate of course) They both have their own large tanks and I can tell how thankful and happy my male is. I’ve learned so much since I first watched this, thank you for your videos!
Beardies are the best. My Eyebrows is sitting above my head on the windowsill this very moment, with her tail down my shoulders. She likes to spy on the neighbors; rn she's observing a thunderstorm.
That’s so cute, my bearded dragon’s chilling on my leg. There’s times she’s just chilling on my head and I love to take her on short walks around the neighborhood because I’m always a bit paranoid about UVB so I always try to take her outside for natural UVB occasionally just in case because I don’t fully trust artificial UVB lights and she gets to have a great scenery change
I love my beardy, he got passed around a lot but we had him for 7 years. We think he’s around 11 maybe 12. He’s a pretty chill dude and I went away for uni, came back and he was so cuddly and happy to see me ;3; I wanted to take him with me but my fam didn’t allow it.
Can you do a video on how to take care of a baby bearded dragon. I got mine in January and I have done some research but people have said different things.
2 questions would Coco coir sand mix baked be ok ( it's what I use for my borrowing Tranachaluas) Also are Red Runner roaches ok ? I got a crickets, Turks and dubias in established colonies already just wanted to make sure the Turks are ok ..... Thank you for the video and your time in advance ....
I had a bearded dragon i got when it was an adult and he had never been givin calcium or uvb his spine was so out of place he would flip upside down when he walked i had to hand feed him. Those things are definitely necessary for every beardie
Something I’ve been looking for…I’m currently building an enclosure, there are lots of videos out there about building and there are lots of videos about lighting. For some reason everybody skips the part of the enclosure build where they install the lights!! I want the lighting to look nice, sleek… if this is something that piques your interest I’d love to see that vid. Thanks for what you do! I’m waiting for an upcoming reptile expo to get my beardie and Your channel has been one of my fav binge-worthy channels as I prepare and learn.
I got my beardie Glaedr, a few years ago and i never realized that they need a bigger tank then what i have. I also loved the Mark Zuckerberg reference.
Its been 7 years since I last owned a bearded dragon. Thanks to your videos and extensive reading, I'm getting back into these amazing lizards and couldn't be happier 😁
An addendum to people watching who aren't from america and dont know what is/can get hold of collared greens- Rocket lettuce (arugala) and asian greens like Pak Choy and similar are your substitute. They also store well as long as you cut the leaves off immediately and store them in a container in the fridge with pieces of paper towel to stop them getting soggy and limp. I only need to go to the store once a week on average instead of every second day.
Thank you for the tips. I have done research but not nearly as much as I wished I’d done when I first got my bearded dragon. I was actually looking for a hognose for my first reptile and was planning to get one at an upcoming reptile expo. But then Covid hit, and my plans quickly changed. I ended up getting Ali, my bearded dragon off of KSL a local website I’d recommend for anyone living in Utah or the surrounding states. It’s basically Creig’s list. I landed on a bearded dragon, probably not the best first reptile but this isn’t the first time I’ve owned an exotic pet. I honestly do not regret my decision. I’m so grateful because during this time of isolation I’ve handled her on a daily basis, and a hognose would’ve been stressed out by now. Also I’m planning on living with my parents for a few more years and my mom who’s terrified of snakes has learned to love my bearded dragon. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better pet. Heck my sister has begged me on multiple occasions to hold her. It’s so great, beardies have as much personality as parrots do with out the noise or the insane amount of attention and fragility.
Hey Adam, i appreciate you mentioning my comments/tips. I always try to help other keepers by providing the best care advice i possibly can and sharing what works for me. Glad i could help out in my own small way.Awesome video as usual, keep up the great work
Thank you for being the person who cooled my nerves. My husband bought my daughter a bearded dragon today. But he's not home all the time which leaves the care of our new family member up to my daughter and me. She did her research, but I was blind sided and pretty much felt like the sky was crashing down on me. She named it buddy, even though we don't quite know the gender yet. And now I know a little better about the whole situation. Thank you. A million times, thank you!
I adopted a bearded dragon from Petco. 2 months old. He was scratching at his tank when I was looking at him. I have never seen a bearded dragon act that way ever.
I just bought a Bearded Dragon (6 weeks old!), and this has helped me a ton. Thank you so much!! I watch your videos anytime I can, because you're so great at what you do. Thanks for making this video!
This video was very informative. I took my uncle’s bearded dragon cause he wasn’t being cared for properly. I’m doing my best but I have a lot to learn.
I just wish you had shared pictures of all the products you mentioned, that's something I always try to do because that shows others exactly what you're talking about. But you did for the most part do that's great! And you did shares the information that is being learned now, because Beardy husbandry used to be crap 10 years ago lol
Funny story how I got my bearded dragon So I was into reptiles for some time but the phase past. One day before my bday, my mom sent me a picture of a bearded dragon and said say hello to your new friend. So my beardy was a pleasant surprise. I was doing sooo much research. In the end, he’s doing great. Love him so much
Another awesome video!, really love how informative your guides are, and that you don’t make your subs feel bad for have slight differences, it was also nice to see 125gal is good size for them as I just adopted one last night and he came with a 75gal and wanted to upgrade him after seeing he could use more room but never knew what size would be appropriate till now(so fun to binge watch with my reptiles on my tv, sometimes I think they can kinda make reptiles on the screen and seem curious and watch with me, especially my crestie tangerine)
I fell for one at a local pet shop a few days ago and am looking into getting him lol, this helped a lot - of course, it's not the only video I watched, but by far the most comforting as I'm VERY stressed about it all right now - and I thought my snakes were confusing (I'm very, very new into reptiles, bought my first snake, had a rescue snake thrown at me, and now getting -hopefully that is- a beardie, all within a span of this year). They'll be asking me questions when I go in to actually handle him for the first time (tomorrow!) and I'm super nervous so now I'm spamming my brain with as much knowledge as possible
I'm going to get my own beardie in a few weeks ❤️ It's nice to check up on the care stuff I noted. Since I'll get mine as a baby I'll use paper towels until it grows a bit. I'm so excited
Be careful with paper towels. They shred easily and some dragons decide that means they're edible for some reason. Maybe they look like worms? Idk but eating shredded paper towels can end badly. Ceramic tile from somewhere like Home Depot or Lowes will last you until you're ready for a more natural substrate and save you a lot of money. Also helps file their nails down and they can't eat it lol.
@@RC-bs6eb thank you! We've been to our local construction store but they don't sell by piece (or slightly damaged ones as I heard in other places) just by m3 and for the two tiles we would need that's too much waste
Thanks for this awesome care guide. I have snakes and just got my first beardie. He/she is 2 weeks old and I'm trying to learn all I can to give this little one the best life possible.
One of my past dragons wouldn't eat her greens, just outright refused, so we used to make "cricket salads" we'd put lots of the good greens but bury in crickets (full of vitamins and canned) or other favorite treats. She would eat the greens to get to the tasty things 🤣
Just watched this after all this time I’ve been subbed lol. My oldest bearded dragon is very sick. Couldn’t find a vet until today. It’s 1.5 hours away but they are supposed to be good. I hope it isn’t too late to save him. He lost weight rapidly. He still eats and poops/pees. He is def weak and very skinny. Loves roaches though. Probably has a parasite but I don’t understand how that happened. Thank you for this video Adam. ❤
Thank you for the Letterkenny plug! Also, when you talk about buying, can you also discuss the importance of buying from humane and responsible breeders? I bought my beardie 6 years ago from a chain pet store before learning how insanely cruel and irresponsible their breeding/sourcing practices are. I still have her and she is thriving, but I wish I knew about the store's practices before I supported them. Could that even be its own video if it's not already?
Really appreciate this video ! I instantly fell for that cute little glare they give through the tank at a petco and I had to have it as soon as it hugged my finger 🥰 something about these lol lizards
Hey Adam thanks for bringing up the fact that the humidity level would probably be lower in Arizona when keeping a bearded dragon. I don’t have a bearded dragon, but I have a crested gecko and they need humidity just like beardies do.
hi! how much do you spend on him per month? i still live with my parents and i’m too young to be employed (14) i babysit and do odd jobs to earn money but do you think i can afford it with only a little of my parents help?
My sister used to have a bearded dragon and I fell in love it unfortunately he was very old and passed away a few years ago. And just randomly today I was like yo I would love to have one again and am doing some research to make sure I know exactly what I need in order to take care of one properly
Got my bearded dragon a few months ago and I have realised he doesn’t go to the toilet a lot and is always sleeping , his name is Lennie and he is 4 yrs old
We got our first reptile, a bearded dragon, a little over two weeks ago. We were heading to the pet store (I know) so my daughter could pick out her birthday gift. She's an avid reptile lover and her dream pet is a hognose but wants a corn snake first so I was sure she was going to get a corn snake. I went ahead and prepared and researched so I would be ready. SHE CHOSE A BEARDED DRAGON! My corn snake enclosure turned into a beaded dragon enclosure and I researched like crazy. Our baby beardie is a complete joy but he is ALOT of work! I feed him crickets four times a day and have tried three other feeder insects plus every vegetable but he will only touch crickets. We don't mind the extra care he needs but definitely not for someone who wants to put alot of time, effort, and money into a first reptile.
I’m moving in a week and I’m allowed to get a new pet since we had to give away my fish tank. Would you recommend Axolotls or Leopard Geckos. I have experience with the water world but I also have written 23 papers about leopard grcky
My brother recently got a baby beardy I always worried about her cause hes lax on her care so I'm always buying stuff for her. This video so very helpful! I hope she'll thrive with my help.
I will be getting a bearded dragon in September, finally! 3 months ago I went for one, and ended up with an Indonesian blue tongue skink. She is great, but sleeps all the time. Can’t wait to get a bearded dragon! They look like fun. I have one question. I have a 40 gallon breeder tank, how long will a bearded dragon be able to be in that size habitat??? It was the habitat my skink was in, and had to upgrade her to a PVC 4 X 2 X 16 inches zen habitat enclosure.
It kind of depends on the dragon, but with my beardie, he outgrew it in less than a year. Granted, he is a big boy at about 22 inches long and, even before he was a year old, he was longer than a three year old, lol. But, from what I've heard from other keepers, dragons can reach their max size around 1 yr old since they can grow quickly. With a 40 gallon, you may get 6 months, maybe?
Corgisaurus Rex Thanks for the information. That gives me 9 months to save for a bigger enclosure. But, then I will need another reptile for my 40 gallon breeder habitat. Now I understand why people with reptiles have so many of them!😁
Thanks Adam. First video I have shown my mate about 'beardies' got viv set up all ready to go... Just need to be able to purchase one (lockdown 3 in Scotland) , and this was perfect. Cheers mate x
My 4 year old daughter wants one so bad for her birthday she loves lizards and spiders and no way was I getting a spider, so I am watching all your videos and others to learn and they are helping me very much thanks. I got my oldest son one when I was much younger and did not do any home work his did not grow at all not even sure what happened to it. So this time I will make sure I have all the info I need. They are the cutest thing. I however was a bald python owner for 12 years and she went every where with me. Love reptiles
If it is a baby, then 40 gallons is more than enough right now. Some people even argue that 40 gallons is perfect for an adult as well, it just depends more on space you have and personal experience. If your dragon feels more comfortable and secure in a smaller tank, then it's fine as long as it's not too small. But if it feels better in a larger tank, then get a larger tank. Just do your own personal research
Only got one thing to say. All reptiles have different personalities. Just like dogs and cats. U can grow bond to anything with the right time and effort
My dragon will NOT be touched. She's a diva. As a baby, she'd throw herself through the air to bite my hands. She'd chase my hands to bite them, and she would even shake her head when she latched on. She's hates everyone and everything, but especially hands. It's been over half a year and I still can't touch her, despite working with her the entire time. I think she'll be like that forever, and it makes me so sad, because I got her because dragons were supposed to be chill. I want a dragon I can hold..
Don't give up on her, she's just stubborn is all. Like a pitbull. Keep showing her affection and keep hand feeding her. They can sense the way you feel too, staying calm and not nervous would also help. She will come around eventually.
I saw a video on UA-cam of a woman who trained her bearded dragon to run into her hands when she tapped them on the floor. His name was Mochi and she was so in love with him. I don't think that he lived outside of his cage unsupervised, but it looked like her home was playground for him 💚
They can actually handle humidity higher than most guides claim because their natural habitat can get around 70% humidity and can thrive just fine up to 60% in captivity. The risk more so is actually not cleaning good enough and the piss fumes mixing in the air and it sitting there and also stagnant lack of flowing air. If it's 50-60 and not flowing or clean.... THAT'S WHERE the actual danger is. Hell one of the biggest captive breeders lives in Florida and let's them live outside and they live just fine. Florida is humid asf. Fish level air.
I paid $59.99 on sale for my hypo leatherback at pet supplies plus, gorgeous coloring with reddish orange striping with light blue spots on his back and light blue lines on his head also some black stripes on his back
I couldn’t disagree more bearded dragons. Love you very much if you are there for them and give them lots of love they love you back. It’s not anthropomorphizing or whatever the heck they call it very different. Love you as much or more than a dog if you give them lots of attention, my bearded dragon is absolutely, adorable, sweet and personality. He looks at me with big puppy dog eyes. He absolutely adores me and I adore him. It’s not my imagination, dude wake up!
im going to get a bearded dragon in janurary time so this video came very useful to me. ive never had any kind of reptile before but ive always wanted 1 so im just gonna go for it and hope for the best
Will you make a video on how to properly bathe them? Also, is shed-easy safe to use for a bearded dragon? And, I’ve heard a lot of different things about if you should help your beardie shed or not and I don’t know who to believe😅 you’re awesome!
For baths you just fill up something with warm/lukewarm water up to about their chest and let them soak basically. You can also pour water on their backs and give them scrubs with a soft baby toothbrush. I’ve personally never had to use shed easy, usually a couple of good soaks and a gentle massage get shed right off. The only time I’ve seen someone use it on a dragon was because the dragon was rescued and previously neglected, so they had a huge build up of stuck shed.
Also in regards to shedding there isn’t exactly a set rule, it depends on your dragon and your preference. Some keepers prefer to let their dragon do it all on their own and others may want to help. Sometimes a dragon may have a disability or may need assistance. Generally though don’t pull on anything, if you want to help you can give a good soak and a gentle massage. If it doesn’t come off easily then it isn’t ready and you’re dragon will let you know it’s uncomfortable.
Bearded dragons shouldn’t be bathed unless medically necessary. Baths are typically unnecessary, and can actually be detrimental if done too frequently. They shouldn’t have any issues shedding as long as their humidity is in the right range.
Holy shit that's a lot of facts. I really want one but I'm now starting to feel the pressure. I feel like i gotta write this all down in my notebook and study it lol
I love your videos and your enthusiasm! I'm thinking about getting a Beardie and I came to your channel looking for a care guide. However, I think it could be significantly improved for a future video. These are several topics that I think could be added: - Heating and UBV: For how long do you keep the ubv lights on? Is there anything to watch out for about certain lights (both heating and ubv)? What heating options do I have for my Beardie? - Feeding: How many insects should I feed a baby/adult per feeding? What about supplements, what kind of supplements do they need and how often? -Shed/Misc: Do beardies really need baths and if they do how often? About shedding, any care they need during shedding? How do I spot a bad shed and what to do about it? How often should I expect to have to buy new supplements/lights, etc? Cheers
@@HaruDoneYet Maybe you don't get it because you haven't thought about the whole picture. Different parts of the world have different lighting schedules. Furthermore, this schedule can vary throughout the year. So, do Beardies need a fixed schedule throughout the year? Does it change with brumation to mimic the winter and allow them to sleep more? Or maybe I can adapt it to my schedule even if I live somewhere with 7 hours of light per day? There are many things to consider, specially if you are just entering the hobby. So yes... , I also don't get how some people can be so opaque.
@@miguelportilla2079 I can see what you're saying but I personally believe that is simply over complicating it. I mean there is no universal correct answer, some keepers keep a fixed schedule and some do all those crazy winter adjustments and if you took both keepers dragons they would be perfectly healthy (assuming the rest of the care is good as well). Plus some keepers just tell you to turn off the lights all together for the bulk of winter and get a ceramic heat emitter for brumation because in the wild the dragon would be in a dark burrow and its a waste of lights. Plus in my opinion most of it is simple logic. If you lived in Alaska with the midnight sun for example, you would logically mimic a, what the rest of the world would consider normal, day/night cycle despite not having one yourself because the dragon is diurnal and has the internal clock set to said cycle. Same thing goes for your 7 hour example, if you think about it Australia (as far as I am aware) has a typical 10-12 cycle, so despite you living in an area with a shorter cycle you would mimic the longer one because the dragon in the wild would experience it. Plus if you're dragon does decide to go to sleep before lights out, the light being on for say an hour won't hurt and if its a consistent thing then just adjust it.
I once saved a baby bearded dragon from PetSmart because it had drowned in the water bowl, but I told my mom it wasn't moving and she said it was ok, so I ran to an employee and told them to open the cage so I could get it out, so I got it out and tried to give it CPR😂, I squeezed it softly then water shot out of his mouth and nose, then he woke back up, everybody called me a life saver, they gave him to me for free and I still have him now, he is big and healthy now 😀
Bro that's awesome. Can you post a video of your beardie?? I want to know more about him now! He's a trooper for sure lol
@@isuckatnamingthings5499I don't know if i could make a video on him, but he is a very happy beardie but i have noticed some things wrong like him not growing as fast as he should.
I’m glad they gave him to you for free, because it’s best to not put money back into a bad company like PetSmart!
I like how Adam says Bearded Dragons are *LESS* fun when they are not living, implying that they are still fun, but not as fun as ones that are alive.
STOP JUDGING ME!
They can still be fun less alive, have em chill around like my human pet skeleton. I named him Tyrone.
Taxidermy? Comparative anatomy? Some sort of weird ritual which involves raising the dead?
That makes a lot of sense.

She also gets hand fed to make sure she's eating as she tends to not eat out of bowls anymore. Surprisingly she just had a full beautiful shed so it seems she still has some time left ❤️
This warms my heart
You was a good pet owner u should be happy that your bearded dragon lived that long,I’m planning to get a bearded dragon
That is some good husbandry. Wow 15 years!
Thanks everyone, she's still around even now, over 15 years old. We know we are on borrowed time with her as she's really showing her age, but she doesn't appear to be in pain so we just make every day we have left as comfortable as possible
how long do they usually live for because i am getting one and i can not always trust google
For some reason they love that stuff
thanks for adding this man!!!
Awesome info. Mine and my grandkiddos one dragon love carrots and doesn’t like crickets!!
My beardie loves her greens, yellow/red bell peppers, and Blueberries/apples as her once in a while snacks.
I’ve just adopted another bearded dragon, about 9 weeks right now, you’re helping so much!
glad this video was helpful :)
Wickens Wicked Reptiles I love your content so much, keep it up!
Can I ask one of you a question other than the set up and actual purchase of a bearded dragon. But how much do you usually pay for food and where should I buy one I tend to hear pet co or pet smart can be a very bad idea to buy from . Im sorry to bother
@@nightriderghost1784 Did my reply go through? I hope it dod

Thank you! 🙏🏻
Also the hight, mine climbs around all the time and he's in a 4x2x2 which is definitely a minimum. I'd love to give him a bigger size when I move house.
And I agree, they're not beginners reptiles, they're difficult and pretty expensive. Also for you Europeans reading this, HID uvb lights from solar raptor or reptech are even better uvb lights but unavailable outside Europe. 😊
thanks for sharing that :)
@@WickensWickedReptiles sure, enjoy your vids!
@@RC-bs6eb I feel the same about mine. It's big enough but bigger would definitely benefit my beardie haha.

Please follow these. I was an ignorant kid when I got mine. I didn’t know how to care for him so he didn’t get proper care. Nice care guide man! I definitely agree that bearded dragons need at least a 4x2x2. I think it’s stupid when people say that beardies shouldn’t live on loose substrate and should live in a 40 gallon.
totally agree
i cant afford a 120 gallon enclosure but my friend said hell get me a 60 gallon if thats fine because this is the only lizard i can afford rn
@@lt.frontalcoffee8131 Get a leopard gecko. Those can live in 20 gallons.

My Goober is always hand fed. He's in his uv light all day and and and a side heater on the side. I actually let him fall asleep in a blanket in my lap at night
Part of adult bearded dragon care that I wished you had covered here is their brumation and also how to care for a beardie who is gravid.
Just found your channel! I’ve nearly had my beardie for a year now, he’s very happy and well fed and quite the character! I’m watching your videos to help educate me more on them, I’m not sure how old he was when I first got him but he was the size of my thumb.
That is awesome!

Funny story how I got my bearded dragon
So I was into reptiles for some time but the phase past.
First time I watched this vid, my beardie Yoshi was sitting on my chest sleeping. 😍 Love him so much

It's nice to check up on the care stuff I noted. Since I'll get mine as a baby I'll use paper towels until it grows a bit. I'm so excited
that's awesome!

I am currently working on a why not to buy from big chains video. :)

Me thinking buying a 40 gallon tank was enough
This guy 120 gallon tank
yeahhhh bigger is better my friend
That's how my dragon was when he was a juvenile. Now hes as tame as he can be. Dont give up, continue to work with her!
Nice to see a care guide recommending the now recommended size of 120 gallons

I saw a video on UA-cam of a woman who trained her bearded dragon to run into her hands when she tapped them on the floor. His name was Mochi and she was so in love with him. I don't think that he lived outside of his cage unsupervised, but it looked like her home was playground for him 💚
amazing!
Reptiles absolutely can care about you. If you know God you know that. Meaning and love is absolute
I completely agree! I would love to know who that breeder is

They shouldn’t have any issues shedding as long as their humidity is in the right range.
did u notice all these places in the beginning started with POG???? this lizard is so poggers
Holy shit that's a lot of facts. I really want one but I'm now starting to feel the pressure. I feel like i gotta write this all down in my notebook and study it lol
absolutely
I love your videos and your enthusiasm! I'm thinking about getting a Beardie and I came to your channel looking for a care guide. However, I think it could be significantly improved for a future video. These are several topics that I think could be added:
- Heating and UBV:
For how long do you keep the ubv lights on? Is there anything to watch out for about certain lights (both heating and ubv)? What heating options do I have for my Beardie?
- Feeding:
How many insects should I feed a baby/adult per feeding? What about supplements, what kind of supplements do they need and how often?
-Shed/Misc:
Do beardies really need baths and if they do how often? About shedding, any care they need during shedding? How do I spot a bad shed and what to do about it? How often should I expect to have to buy new supplements/lights, etc?
Cheers
I honestly don't really understand the confusion about when lights go on and off that many people apparently have
@@HaruDoneYet Maybe you don't get it because you haven't thought about the whole picture.
Video idea? Maybe you guys could do a vid on like DIY hides and aquarium pieces?
good idea!
