Their music is the way they can share their feelings at that precise moment with us, still mortals, we don't even know if he was in a little period of bliss at that concert, or maybe he was so impatient about harming himself, we are nobody to put an specific label to what was inside his head, it's good to know their legacy is there, transcending generations for the rest of the times, giving their music some certain meaning depending our state of mind, and that's good too, music will always be like a time machine for each one of us.

Cobain's guitar tone this entire show was amazing. Its haunting and electrifying, I have never heard another guitar like it. It sings with him like second voice.
As far as I can tell he's playing a Martin Dreadnought with unknown pickups. The closest thing I've come to replicating it is plugging a Rickenbacker, tuned a half step down, directly into a Vox ac15 amp and turning the neck pickup down slightly. Only guitar nerds might care about this but for me this is how I keep his legacy alive

1994. I was living in Miami. Had been transplanted there 2 years earlier from Chicago due to a job relocation. I used to come back on the weekends quite frequently to Chicago. Turns out I manage to get a gf back in Chicago during one of these weekend jaunts. A french woman, she was 11 years my senior. Beautiful woman. She came done frequently to Miami to visit me. But she was rather unfaithful. She was a sleep around. I remember calling her in the evenings sometimes until late and no answer. Meaning she wasn't home. Not sleeping at home. These were the days when mobile phones weren't as widespread as they are now. So that meant I couldn't just call her on her cell phone since she didn't have one. Next day I would finally reaching her like at work or at home the next evening and I would ask her "Where did you sleep last night?". Then this song came out. It was like magic. As though Nirvana put it out for me to describe exactly what I was going through. Needless to say the relationship didn't last. These long distance things never do. And she hooked with an even younger man. 20 years her junior(??). Anyway, she left Chicago and moved back to France. But I will never forget her.
