  • Does your steering rack on your S14 leak or make funny noises? Does it not have steering response like it used to? Here, Carlos shows how he removed and rebuilt his steering rack after utterly decimating it in the last drift event on Oct 11, 2020, Haunted Moves.

Thanks for the vid! Am trying to rebuild mine and finding info has been a pain! My large threaded end does NOT want to come loose. Your vid confirmed what I needed to hear. Keep turning!

I have a JDM Subaru Legacy wagon that I needs new seals and it's very similar to the S14 rack. Thanks for making this video for us.

How has this been holding up?

Great question. It held up pretty good for awhile. Seeing that the car is drifted pretty hard, it did recently start having steering play with no external leaks. Likely caused by improper installation of the center seal and accelerated wear. Will be getting rebuilt again soon.

ended up rebuilding mine with this video to guide me and i thought everything went all good but after a week of driving i still get ps fluid leaking out of my driver tie rod boot 😭 so obviously i fucked something up and im going to give it one more try sometime soon. im guessing its the seal that goes all the way through the tube? any suggestions or tips that weren't covered in the video? didnt really show how u got that one in and reinstalled

I’m thinking it is due to one of the seals(either center on the shaft or the seal on the driver side). Make sure the seals are seated perfectly straight. I recall using a socket on a very long extension to press it flat. This was done with basic hand tools in my defense. 😅
