De Palma is so underrated
I completely agree, except the part about Tarantino, is not the time or the place.
"I just pulled up a Tarantino and wrote way too much things" Ok that was funny.
Podriamos haber hablado en español todo este tiempo.
:D
Bro stop
Watched this movie recently. The ending wasn't completely satisfying, but the movie was pretty great. Some of the sequences are so good. Hitchcock-esque for sure.
Dressed to Kill, Blowout and Body Double are hands down his best work. Honorable mentions Carrie, The Fury, Raising Cain, Carlitos Way and Femme Fatale.
I also like obsession and sisters. The first mission impossible is also amazing!
You forgot "Phantom of the Paradise"!
I can’t believe you forgot ‘The Untouchables’
And Scarface but that goes without saying
Body Double it's better than Dressed to kill
Can't wait to pick up the remastered Criterion for this. I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago and was stunned at how expertly crafted, shot, and directed it was. What a tense and engaging film, where every shot matters.
Remember seeing this when I was a teenager in the 80s on cable.I have always remembered this scene and how I was so taken by it. Not a word spoken but very powerful.
Happy 75 Brian you are a genius
Brian De Palma is one of my favorite cinematic artists. I can't wait to pick this up on blu ray.
Can't wait to see this documentary. Brian De Palma has always been my favorite American director. I think he stands alone in terms of how virtuosic and visual his sequences are, especially when you consider that most of them were made in the pre-CGI era and they are so much better than anything made today.
Saw this today for the first time. A masterpiece! And it’s extremely «modern». Did not «feel» like a 40 year old film.
Absolutely agree!
DRESSED TO KILL is wonderful and De Palma is magic!
Suspense is a matter of simple observation and the places it will take you
Quote: Sir Alfred Hitchcock
That's why he will always be the master.
Published the day before his birthday!Nice One!!:)
Interviews with DePalma are selling it for me
A masterpiece. This scene is unforgettable.
Scarface, Untouchables, films like that make him an all time great
Carrie is on of my all time favourites, but haven't seen most of his work.
The breakdown of the initial therapy scene and the subtle clues that Caine is the Killer would be more interesting.
Great cinema. A character driven film. Special effects are not a factor. Everyone is after something.
Very good movie.I have not seen it for several years.
Brian De Palma’s the master of style and aesthetics
Dressed to kill is the best
My mother and I saw this movie when I was 13. Some of it I didn’t understand then. I enjoyed the plot and all of the sequences though.
13? That wild 😂
Peliculon vestida para matar es un gran director
