      The score is amazing. Especially the one where the lead was being a peeping tom. So good that De Palma played it 3 separate times in 10 minutes. It played, it stopped, it played again and stopped then played again.

    I love watching interviews and this is the first time I've seen the interviewer record the questions and reactions after the fact. Probably to have it all under one film reel. Fascinating!

    • @jedijones
      @jedijones 11 днів тому +1

      Her later interviews, they set up dual cameras so she didn't have to do this. But since these early ones had only one camera, they needed to record her asking the questions so they could edit that in for TV and not have them just coming in from off screen. She also wants her face to be on camera so that she can build up her career and recognizability.

      He had a rep back in the day for being a lot more successful with women than his other nerdy filmmaker friends like Steven Spielberg, largely down to how confident he's always been. Margot Kidder told stories about basically trying to coach Spielberg into being better with women back then...a period of time when she herself was dating De Palma.

      Also, the theme "Telescope" is in 2023's _Air_ soundtrack along with "Axel F" from _Beverly Hills Cop_ and "Love on a Real Train" from _Risky Business._ _Air's_ about Nike signing Michael Jordan in 1984 and making a basketball shoe around him, which made them billions.

  • @geupelboi

      @Steven Davies
      BODY DOUBLE as DRESSED TO KILL and BLOW OUT is a classic hitchcockian thriller/crime movie.
      I think it's very different.
      About those Italian directors, It's not really classic thrillers/crime movies.
      It's really more than that.
      It's very gory horror.
      I never saw any single movie by Mario Bava.
      But I saw some movies by Lucio Fulci.
      About Lucio Fulci's movies, there's a cruelty barely believable in the gore scenes.
      And this cruelty is really unwelcome and not to my taste at all!

      His previous movie was _Scarface_ which I'm told is a very violent film. I'm not a De Palma fan, but like this movie and _Mission Impossible_ starring Tom Cruise. _Untouchables_ is worth watching once, but the ending courtroom is cringe. Thinking of De Palma's _Carrie,_ I recently watched _Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret_ because of the controversy of Judy Blume books being banned. (The MPAA rated it PG-13 so under-13s won't go to see this movie about puberty. And moms on parent websites aren't recommending it for kids under 11, Margaret's age.) Now they have a don't say "period" bill in FL, which makes _Carrie_ more relevant.
