Personally I've never cared for mini guns or airbrushes but I love your channel so much I'll still watch the video

Hi Mate, I have a soft spot for the smaller stuff, but I appreciate it's not for everyone as many will have no use for them.
There are many, of course, that do, and there doesn't seem to be much out there that physically compares these small guns, especially something like the RG-3L and HP-G3, so I thought it worth taking a little look.
Appreciate your support, buddy. It really is appreciated 👍

Another great video Pete! Best reviews on the net! I haven't painted since the 90s and so much has changed. Guns are different and paints are different so im trying to do my research before diving in on a few projects. Believe i have settled between the prd 625 and 715. Wanting the best finish i can get for a great price...or maybe both and still be less than what i spent on my last gun lol

Hi Bradley, To be honest, mate, they are very good guns. The only question mark is longevity, which will take time to know, but I think they will be fine, they are certainly in a different league quality wise compared to all the other Chinese gun's I seen/used, cheers mate 👍

Great job as always! So in depth and informative! Actually i am using an ANI R160q 0.8, as a "heavy duty airbrush" for my finish repairs in luthery, some may think why looking for a spray gun when you need an airbrush? Air brushes doesnt work with solvent based products, very soon every rubber searl will dissolve, it will get clogged in unimaginable ways... only ultrasonic cleaner with some special solution will be able to clean it and with a high risk to crack the body of your airbrush... I am missing this LPH80 from my arsenal! That one will be my next addition for sure! You think its fine atomisation will help when spraying satin or matte when you need an absolute result from the spray gun without any polishing etc?

Hi mate, most airbrushs these days are fine with solvent based products, that predominantly what I use without issues, apart from the Harder and Steenbeck Infinity CR Plus airbrush I have which was useless with solvent based.
I have since changed the o'rings for better ones, and it's now fine.
The LPH80 or LPH50 are really a huge step up from the R160 in the smaller sizes. The R160 is an excellent mini gun, but I always feel it under performs in the smaller 0.5 0.8 size, it needs quite a lot of pressure to give flat results, the LPH80 & LPH50 need much less and give better results, definitely worth saving up for it you can.
Cheers buddy, appreciate the support as always 👍

@@peteshobbies5383 I seriously considered your recommendations before choosing the r160 0.8, seen all your videos probably more than once! The pattern on the 0.8 was problematic, the "dot" wasn't even round, so I thought maybe it was a defect on your gun, that's a bet we have to take with cheaper products, I choose spraygunsdiret to feel safe if I had to take it back, turned out fine really! Does it atomises as good as an LHP80? Ofcourse not! But when repairing an area of 10x10cm you just need some material sprayed on the piece, then a light sand and a polishing takes seconds!
About the airbrushes, I guess the ones you are referring to probably cost double the price of an r160, buying something around 50euro, you ll have to research and locate on your own the right teflon rings, to me feels like it doesn't worth my time when I am not really an airbrush artist, it's not as easy to clean as a mini spray gun and to be honest it doesn't have as many usages as an 0.8 spray gun in my line of work, now that I know I can transform an lph80 to potentially an hp g3 makes it an absolute must! In my eyes the hp g3 had the best of both worlds! And in my line of work the r160 will still have its place! You always need an extra gun with a different color in it! Cheers bud, thanks for your reply!

@sonicalmods781 The price difference is, as you say, huge between the LPH80 and an R160, but I think you will find the benefits are worth it.
The HP-G3 has supremely fine atomisation. There is also a G5 version, which obviously has a larger tip. These things are horrendously expensive, so it's best to buy them from Japan , Cheers, buddy 👍

Hi Dean, OK mate, I'll keep a look out. I wanted to look at where the mini gun meets airbrush with these.
The HP-G3 is a really interesting little thing, supremely fine atomisation , more so than an equivalent 0.3 airbrush, yet it's an LPH80 body , cheers mate 👍

Hi Pete, amazing video mate I really don't know how you memorise all those different model and part numbers it's totally beyond me😵‍💫they all look to be good guns and seem to be good quality plus they are nice looking you could just buy them for a display case🤔😁
These would be ideal for model makers and for those that are panting small parts for cars and bikes, lots of good info there Pete so thanks for sharing👌👍

Hi John, I guess it's like most things you're really interested in. You retain a lot of details about the stuff because you're genuinely interested.
The atomisation on the HP-G3 is excellent, although in the UK, they are in excess of £500 so not cheap!
      Cheers buddy 👍

Can you do a comparison between the LPH50 and the W50 Kiwami. I bought both about a year ago after watching your videos and I've used them almost everyday since. Perfect for my application. I started out with the RG3 copy from eBay for $13.

The LPH50 isn't really competing against the W50 Kiwami as they are smaller tips

Great video! I have bought the LPH 80 0.8 with an e4 ai cap. Wanted an e2 aircap, so I bought an LPH 50 air cap. The size however is 1,0. Can I put it on my spray gun or is there a problem concerning the size of the e2 air cap?

@@peteshobbies5383 Thank you! So there will not be a problem when I have a 0.8 needle with a e2 1.0 air cap, or do they have to match?

@bobwil9903 You need to keep the needles and tip together, but they fit both guns, the caps will fit on both guns and work with both 0.8 and 1.0
