I've just completed a full 2k spray job on a Chevy SS, I had the opportunity to test out my 4 guns 2x 6800's, NVE, and a aeroflow R500 and got surprising results, I found a difference between the 2 6800s, I have the blue Saigaole and an anodized Ntools and the Saigaole was the better of the 2 wasn't expecting that at all, what was surprising was how Good the R500 was it was up there with my NVE which is the 1st time I used it its a decent gun and the R500 sprayed beautifully I was going to use it as a primer gun the worse was the Ntools 6800 and the blue Saigaole held its own, I was also using a PPS pot on the NVE and the blue Saigaole 6800, future will be the NVE as a clear gun and the Saigaole for a base gun and the Ntools 6800 as my primer gun and the R500 as my work horse, so theres my results air temp was 27c using a fast hardner, i will pull both 6800's apart and see if i can find a reason why they each sprayed differently
Hi Mate, Thanks for the information. It's good for others to read. The R500 is a good gun, but I find it needs more pressure than the others. The 6800B I have doesn't flow that much material, I think the problem with these cheaper guns is the quality control, maybe my 6800B isn't the same as someone else's. Cheers buddy 👍
Hi Pete and first off a huge congrats for reaching the 6K subs mate now your well on your way to the 10K milestone🥳👌I've seen the Saigaole 6800 quite a few times on various sites and often wondered what they were like, the fan on the sprayout looked ok not the biggest but then size doesn't always matter🤭but it looked quite even so that's a good start👌 You cant always tell on the video but it seemed to lay the base ok it looked smooth with no striping but a nice silver would be a good test for it😁it will be interesting to see it lay clearcoat seeing as you weren't to impressed with it I would like to see how it coped👍I don't know anything about the PHS-135 but even though it's a budget gun I would say it's a better gun than the Saigaole🤔 Cheers Pete👍
Hi John, Yes, this is not a bad base coat gun, to be honest. It coped very well, I will get a clear coat video up sometime soon and compare it to the Ntools 4000B. I need to try the Porphis PHS135 again the Ntools 4000B as I think it will be as good, and I have reasonable confidence that the Porphis will last longer. Cheers mate 👍
Hi Pete. I while back I purchased an Air Green X-2020 from Ali Express. I am no expert but they seem to be a very well made gun. I would say build quality is on par with a Porphis. They are also reasonably priced. Not that you need another paint gun :) but I would love to hear your thoughts one day.
Hi mate, I just had a look, it's a nice looking gun, I suspect it's made by Rongpeng in China as they supply many names which there guns, I'll keep a look out, cheers 👍
Hi Mate, The ones I use at the moment are off ebay, got them a few years ago, big box of 200, I only use them for one job, then they are washed, It's always worth remembering that they should never be washed with any polishing cloths as it can contaminate the panel wipe cloths
@meguinness1116 These are the ones I use 👍 www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363878138954?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=McTAslaQQ4u&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=v5EZyL9iR9-&var=633104721632&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I painted grey metallic, it worked well, but the pressure i used was higher. I tried Clear with it, it works, but i did prefer to use a Sata 1000RP for clear. Once i had a problem while spraying. The gun didn't spray any base. The airhole in the lid was closed! Bad quality, but after fixing it, it was Ok for Base. My version was 5800B RP. But its all the same. Whatever you order, they just print it on the gun 😂
Hi Buddy, It sounds like you had a similar experience to me with the Saigaole. Here, for base coat, it worked well, but, as you say, it is not so good for clear coats. It seems a lot of the cheaper Chinese guns are the same, it doesn't matter what's written on the gun's, they are, in fact, all the same 😂🤣, cheers mate 👍
the problem with these guns is that by the time these videos are released, the quality control on the manufacture has went from just alright, to completely dismal.
Hi I'm an auto refinisher been spray painting cars for over 45 years, I don't subscribe to the this gun does this that 1 does that, I can paint a car with any gun any paint and get a flawless finish all tradesmen can especially after they have been in the industry for 5 or 6 years, I disagree with you about the 6800 I've used it and the 4000 a friend purchased them as wanted me to teach him some skills, I find the 6800 the better of the 2 over the years I used all the high end Guns I do have a favourite brand and I think any of the Chinese guns can handle anything you throw at them some aren't half bad, I usually don't comment on reviews on UA-cam when you do it for a living and you have some long days and nights in the booth you don't want to do it when you get home its grab a beer put the TV and watch the footy, when I retire shortly I won't pick up a gun ever again but I thought I'd give you some comments, by the sounds of your air its sounds a little to high, anyhow keep up to your testing ill have a bit of a sticky beak at your other videos 😀
Hi Mate, to a degree, I agree with you. Even the cheapest guns can give a good finish. The problem for me is that some make it much easier than others, if someone is relatively new to painting, as I've said before, having a better gun gives you a better chance of getting better results, it's just easier. I'm not finding the 6800 anything like as good as the 4000B, maybe that's down to me, production quality control, maybe I have a duff 6800, having said that it sprays fine, it's just rather slow compared to my 4000B so I'm not finding it particularly good with clear coats as you really have to hold it back to get enough material on, obviously materials make a difference as well. Thanks, mate. I appreciate it 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 I agree with him I've wouldn't' have painted as many cars I would of done a couple of hundred, I've got 2 6800's and I love them I don't have a 4000 "yet", I don't ever take recommendations on UA-cam to seriously as every gun has its sweet spot and thats were testing falls down, I've had SATA's which are great guns and others are dogs but I'm not a SATA fan boy, with in a pass or 2 you have a pretty Good idea where that going to be to do the job and adjust it to suit, that only comes with years of painting expriance but 45year wow thats a lot of spray jobs, no wonder he doest want to do it at home lol I enjoy painting I take ever job as a challenge but I paid $30 & $35 for mine thats a cheap spray gun

First comment first like 🙏🏼😂great video Pete!
Im really eye balling that 4000B
Hi Buddy, thanks 😊
The 4000B is a better gun, also look as the Porphis PHS135, as good but probably going to last longer

Out of curiosity.... What cloths/microfibers do you use when you're cleaning using panel wipe before spraying? Ta
