I am so very thankful to have found you. Your expertise is impeccable. I am a medical assistant/scribe and am now taking a course on line for Medical Billing and Coding because I desire to work from home and I have always been interested in coding. I am just now getting into the beginning coding and I needed more of a breakdown of the explanations such as a "tabular list" and "Flag". Need to know how it all fits together. I am more of an auditory learner so your explanation of things which is so sincere; but yet vast in its contents is great for me. You are doing a great service, may God continue to bless you for being a force for good in the lives of others.
I am so excited, I had given up on coding until i came across your videos, your style of teaching make it worthwhile. Thank you for sharing your gift with me.
Thank you so much, even tho this video is from 2015, I just started my medical coding program in august last year I am in my second semester and it is amazing I’m loving this career path, thank you for helping understand in better context what I am actually getting in to.
Is medical coding a good career to do from home as a stay at home parent/father? My wife and I will be having our first child and I want to work from home. We have already decided that I will be a stay at home parent but I'd also like to work. My only concern is as first time parents who live out of state away from our relatives , is how to manage the job with parenting. Could this be something that I can do in the evenings when my wife is home, or do I need many hours to complete the task? Is part time online work common in this field? All in all, I am trying to gain an honest understanding of the rigor and the demands in this field in the context of working from home.
Medical coding is a work from home job in most organizations. There are PRN, Part-time, and Full-Time positions in medical coding. So, you should be able to find a time convenient for you. The recommendation is a child at least 12 years old at home to be able to work from home without distractions. However, I know many moms that have little ones at home while they work. You will just have to make it work for you.
You are so much more articulate and better at explaining than my college professor, and I am so glad I found your videos!! I am soaking up all of the knowledge that I can!! Thank you so much!!! Stacy A.
Hi Sweety! I 'm a new student to Medical Billing and Coding. Your video is great and wanna let you know you have a new fan....Ill be checking out all your video's as to help me better understand while I am learning. Thanks for you putting in the knowledge, expertise, and your time....

I just quit my job at the Post office because I'm tired of being tossed around like a piece of meat. I am 27 and thinking about getting into this field, I'm just not confident that I can get these medical terms in my head. But, I need a good paying job.

I just found your video. I'll be sure to subscribe. I have been in Healthcare Revenue Cycle (Payment Posting, Data Entry, Credit Balances, Accounts Receivable, etc...) for the past 10 years, and I've been seriously considering getting into Coding, because I want to broaden my horizons. Although I am familiar with CPT & Dx as well as constant changes within the industry, I still think it's best to adapt & grow your skillset. So, thanks for starting this channel.
I was just recently laid off from my job of 30yrs...i am interested in getting trained and certified in medical coding and billing. There is an online course through Career Step and was wondering if you recommend doing one of these online courses instead of going to college to get an Associates etc...I think you mentioned that it doesn't matter how you learned but that you get pass the certification tests. I'm just looking for some direction as to the best way to get trained. I love you video's they are so informative and I've learned a lot already! Thx!
Mary Sheridan I’m in the same boat. Thinking of making this career change into medical billing and coding. What did you end up doing just curious? Thanks for any insight you can provide.
excellent video! my goodness I have such a better understanding. Thank you sooo much. I do have a question. If a person wants to get certified in medical coding should I have a medical background of any kind??
Thank you. No, you do not have to already have a medical background. Even if you did, medical coding will show you an entirely different background to healthcare.
Thank God i found your videos. I already "started" with medical coding. I say "started" because the teacher doesn't really teach us but only gives us hand outs and work on it by ourselves. Your videos gave me the proper introduction to medical coding. Do i have to have certain hours in class in order to take the certification test? or I can just apply for the certification test and challenge it? Thank you. Will follow your videos and subscribe.
Kristoffer Cruz: Thank you and no you do not have to have a certain amount of hours in class to sit for certification. Just make sure you know the material because the certification exams are not easy. Thanks again.
I worked as a Nurse for over 11 years, switched to at home medical billing for a large company, patients get so angry about the separate billing. They go to the ER, next thing they get a bill for the facility fee from hospital, another bill for the DR that saw them at the hospital, a separate lab bill, a separate pathology bill, etc etc...so when the patient pays to one place and get another bill they think they already paid it, and next thing you know their screaming and yelling at you. lol.
Whitney Russell Its physically much easier, but i take actual phone calls from patients and then figure out how to fix claims, then forward then to coders to re-code. Pts call in angry alot, bc there is so many billing issues . Its not as easy as i thought. Im think of switching to just billing and coding but i will lose alot of money. But i think i like the part of not having to deal directly with patients.
Leighann Anderson thanks for info. I don't really want to be taking phone calls from patients. I know how people can be especially when it comes to money. looks like medical coding is the way to go.
I just made the decision to use these videos to jumpstart my career as a medical coder.. I have already been through a nursing program, so I am picking up what you’re talking about so clearly. Thank you and God Bless 👏🏼

I was so excited to find your videos. I've been trying to do this myself as an online course and it's very difficult without the knowledge base of somebody who has experience to refer to. I'm currently only on your third video but I'm hoping that you will continue on with your channel because you have amazing knowledge and information
Wonderfully expressed! It can be a bit of a challenge when you are more knowledgeable about a subject but need to express it in a manner that is beginners friendly. The bread example was a good analysis. It's definitely something your followers could identify, relate or visualize. I've been in medical for such a long time and accepted positions in the hopes of one day perfecting and/or becoming a strong, reliable medical coder. I obtained a 2-year degree from an accredited HIM program but due to children, age maturity, financial obligation and not being able to network or sell myself properly during the interview phase I have struggled to cross over from front and back office staff to coding. I've accepted positions in managed care, referrals, physician office, hospital, insurance, etc all in an attempt to be well rounded and fully skilled in my field of study. Granted I have not yet obtained a license in RHIT. I didn't realize wanting the experience in other departments would make it so difficult to get to where I was striving. Employers see my employment history and automatically want to use me in those areas all the while I'm yearning to reach my destination of coding. If I can give any advice on this outlet to bless another it would be to push hard for what you truly want and don't accept no as an answer. If your value is not seen initially.... move. Do Not waste any more of your time hoping someone will quote on quote rescue you, take a chance or see your potential. You have to exhibit courage and not make excuses for what you truly want. Go get it! This channel is a great start. God Bless. - Inspiration By B

Irmaris Feliciano Im very interested in going to school as well but online. Do you have any information on a good accredited school online please?
What school are u attending?
Thank you so much. Youre such a life saver. Moreover youre teaching style is very helpful and understandable and I just love how you break down everything step by step from understanding the difference between diagnosis and procedure within coding. Im starting Billing n Coding soon and your video has helped me what to expect out of this whole program even before my first day. Thank you. Youre such a blessing!
Your so welcome Vernice Ena.
Currently enrolled at Ashworth College, and hit a rough patch that ive been able to get through with you. Thank you!

I'm interested in taking this course because you have really made the topic clear and concise. I now have a better understanding of the Classification. You're really good at explaining the subject.
You are an excellent teacher. Thank you for these videos.
Thank you so much for making these videos and helping me out understand this career I have chosen. I am taking my Exam in December and I need to remember everything. I am taking a medical coding and billing certification and have been doing this class for a year but been struggling. I am so thankful for your videos.
Your videos are already so very helpful. I have read up on what medical coding is and how it works. As I listen to you explain it, and brake it down however, I can feel the information clicking into place and creating a much clearer picture. Thank you so much for all your help so far!
Your welcome TearsOfAJadedStar.

Thank you so much for providing this coding tutoring online service. I appreciate how you break down all the terms and explain everything so thoroughly and clearly. It has been so helpful in supplementing my study of Medical Coding. Thank you again for sharing your vast knowledge. God bless. Bea
You are so welcome Beatriz Detres. Glad I can help.
I love your videos! I just got a new job as a RN coder at home. Your videos are so helpful. Thank you!
Your welcome Simone Irie. Congrats on the new job.
How did you find a company to work for from home?
How is it going so far?
@@codemastercoach6636 Do you mind me asking where did you find the job?
What in the world is an RN Coder? Are you a nurse working as a coder at home?
Thank you for a detailed explanation of coding. I currently work in Revenue Reimbursement for Radiology and have hands-on experience. I am currently taking billing/coding class &just came across your channel I must say I’m more confident about taking the test than I was before hand. You’ve definitely gained a follower for sure. :)
Thank you Janelle Martin. Welcome to CodeMasterCoach!

If anyone reads this could they email me and tell me how it is at the workplace or how hard this is?
Medical Coding and Billing Services. I can help your office with medical coding and all types of medical claims, including Medicare and Medicaid. I just finished the course and would love to do the coding and billing.

Welcome Aboard Weatha Morris and thank you.
I love your teaching styles!
MEEE TOOOO
These are great videos, I'm hopping all over the place :) look for the next video in the series. Wish they were in a playlist.
This is a great refresher! I took Medical insurance billing and coding at Everest College and was ripped off. Turned out they were not a creditable school. Sad part is the diploma I received is not good. I want to code but can’t afford to pay for more schooling, still paying for Everest 😭
Karen Rhea I think you should take them to court why pay for something that’s useless
Of all the videos I've watched today and searches I've done this has been the most helpful! Thank you!
Thank you Stephanie M.
You are a lifesaver. I am completing my degree as RHIT by Aug 2017 but, learning online is very difficult. Finding your videos has helped me SOOOO much. Thank you
Your welcome lovelife773.

lovelife773 what school do you go to?
I am so very thankful to have found you. Your expertise is impeccable. I am a medical assistant/scribe and am now taking a course on line for Medical Billing and Coding because I desire to work from home and I have always been interested in coding. I am just now getting into the beginning coding and I needed more of a breakdown of the explanations such as a "tabular list" and "Flag". Need to know how it all fits together. I am more of an auditory learner so your explanation of things which is so sincere; but yet vast in its contents is great for me. You are doing a great service, may God continue to bless you for being a force for good in the lives of others.
Thank you Linda Brunson Smith.
Do you tutor on line
Marlena Mcduff she should! This was so informative, and the way she breaks it all down is so helpful.
I am so excited, I had given up on coding until i came across your videos, your style of teaching make it worthwhile. Thank you for sharing your gift with me.
That bread analogy 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hope it helped...
This really helped me with my ABHCP M-35 Medical Coding exam.
Thanks for posting!
so I can learn from your videos instead of taking a program ? then take the exam whenever I'm ready?
That's correct Dessirae Clayton. It will just take me longer on UA-cam to present the information.
Ohh Okay thankyou ! :)
Dessirae Clayton These videos are very in depth but I do recommend classes.
Thank you very much for your reply and advice! This is very helpful for me!!
You are so much more articulate and better at explaining than my college professor, and I am so glad I found your videos!! I am soaking up all of the knowledge that I can!! Thank you so much!!! Stacy A.
Thank you so much Stacy August.
Hi. You're videos are very informative. I'm interested in learning more. Is there a way to email you directly with specific questions about coding?
Hi Sweety! I 'm a new student to Medical Billing and Coding. Your video is great and wanna let you know you have a new fan....Ill be checking out all your video's as to help me better understand while I am learning. Thanks for you putting in the knowledge, expertise, and your time....
You are welcome!
Do you recommend that I purchase a diagnosis book on Amazon for the current year 2017 in order to follow along with your videos to gain coding knowledge?
Either the 2017 or 2018 edition ICD-10-CM code book.
I am looking forward to learn about medical coding and I came to to your channel, and I learn what is a medical coding is. I love myself today :) Thank you
I'm so proud of you Jemimah Anne.
I just quit my job at the Post office because I'm tired of being tossed around like a piece of meat. I am 27 and thinking about getting into this field, I'm just not confident that I can get these medical terms in my head. But, I need a good paying job.
You can do this Thatsbananas!
I hear you man.
Just turned 27 and been at the PO 5 years, looking into medical coding. Is this a sign? Haha
@@Gingerbreadgorl hey am 27 too. Geez is 27 the link here. I am looking into a 9 month program. Am working at mcdonalds. I need to improve my income. If i do medical coding this summer. I will be done when am 28 : )
Your teaching methodology is so easy to follow, thank you Teacher.
omg, thank you for making it clear!
You are so welcome!
Same here I'm considering career step pls give us guidance if we should go career step or not
I am so grateful that I found your channel. I am currently in the Medical Billing and coding program. You are very helpful. Thank you!
De Shawn: Your are welcome.
excellent video! my goodness I have such a better understanding. Thank you sooo much. I do have a question. If a person wants to get certified in medical coding should I have a medical background of any kind??
Thank you. No, you do not have to already have a medical background. Even if you did, medical coding will show you an entirely different background to healthcare.
Break it down Code Master! That was awesome! A lot of people (teachers) know how to code but don't know how to TEACH! Thank You❣2020
Thank you W Tollefson.
I'm thinking about getting into this field and your videos are the ONLY thing on the internet that broke it down thank you for this!
I worked as a Nurse for over 11 years, switched to at home medical billing for a large company, patients get so angry about the separate billing. They go to the ER, next thing they get a bill for the facility fee from hospital, another bill for the DR that saw them at the hospital, a separate lab bill, a separate pathology bill, etc etc...so when the patient pays to one place and get another bill they think they already paid it, and next thing you know their screaming and yelling at you. lol.
Now it will all make sense why so many bills for one service, right?
To us, yes....to patients no lol
I'm an RN now, 10 years. Been thinking about a career change. how long have you been in medical billing now? any information or tips? thank you.
So glad I can help Tracey White.
Oh my I'm so bless to run across your video. I graduate in December I'm learning A lot from your video. God bless you for taking the time to teach us.😍
I'm on my last 3 classes for Medical Billing/Coding. One of my online classmates recommended I see your videos. I am so glad she did. Thank you! You are so easy to understand. I look forward in seeing your other videos.
Thank you Maya Sanchez.
I am SO HAPPY I found you!!! I'm enrolled in an online medical coding school and this past week we had our first actual coding assignments. After doing them, I'm feeling a bit unsteady, but determined to learn it. I was searching to see if there was someone who showed how it's done by extracting the proper terms for coding. I already learned from this video about cpt, which I had no clue about since I only have the ICD-10-CM book currently. THANK YOU for making these videos!!!!!!
You are so welcome Anne Marie Voegeli.
I am so thankful I found this video & your teachings are awesome & well explained. I recently just got accepted into college & my major will be medical billing & coding. As of today I am starting to prepare myself for the road ahead. I will be tuning in to your videos for sure ma'am! Thank you so much for your help & God bless!
Thank you Becky Duron.
Thank you SO MUCH for these videos! I am a new coding student, doing an online program and I need more than just reading and following a manual! With your instruction, I get a full understanding! I'm grateful!
Thank you very much...Ms. This video is so helpful. As an employee working in the healthcare accounting department not only to paying to vendors but, always wanted to learn about the processes for in which doctors are paid as well. This is perfect !! Thank you for sharing this video..Ms.

Your welcome Mackenzie & Hunter.
I am so glad I came across your channel, I am determined to learn as much as I can on my own.. after receiving my Bachelors my financial aid capped me and wasn't able to finish my billing and coding certificate but I am determined to learn as much as I can til then.
Well you have come to the right place. We can do this together. Welcome Aboard!
I was so excited to find your videos.
I've been trying to do this myself as an online course and it's very difficult without the knowledge base of somebody who has experience to refer to.
I'm currently only on your third video but I'm hoping that you will continue on with your channel because you have amazing knowledge and information
Thank you Jennifer Pisani.
Thankyou! I feel like I have a better understanding on what im getting myself into!
You're welcome Paulina Velazquez.
Wow! Found your video when trying to find out if I might want to go back to school for coding. You are born to teach!
Wow, thank you ToughCookieCA
Thank you so much! I watched this video 3 years ago dreaming about to enroll college, and now Im studying!!! and starting watching your videos again!!!! thank you and by the way I understand you better than my teacher haha
Thank you K C B. I appreciate your comment.
Im grateful about your videos because it helps me a lot to understand every single piece of this that im not sure to start. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Your welcome Aris.
I stumbled on ur page and I love love how u break things down and i love how straight forward you are and a great teacher. I'm watching!! and learning ! Bc i just signed up for a certified program.
I kept seeing ads about being a medical coder being a medical biller and I was afraid it was one of those since cinchy pinche east peasy types of things you learn and the market is so saturated there are mo jobs for. In the beginning I didn't understand what it was or the importance and the fact that you have to put time and effort into your studies and learning the material which I appreciate because it makes it all the more valuable and all the more important. I wish that had found your videos a couple of years ago but I found you now and that's all that matters. I intend to take my exam and master it within the next year
You can do this JoAnne Mazurek. Just make sure you put the time into studying.
@@codemastercoach6636 Thank you for the inspiration. Tuesdays are strictly my school days and I do need to dedicate more time plus study and learning on Tuesdays than I do.
I am soooo glad I found your tutorials. You are a wonderful teacher. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience as a certified professional coder, RHIA and so on. I will be watching and will recommend to anyone who would like real world applications and explanations. ;-)
First minute in and trust me... your so intelligent. Thank you
