- Fender American Pro II: gtrgtr.uk/AmericanProIISeries
It's been a couple of weeks since the fantastic Fender American Pro II series was released and to say we're still hyped about it would be correct - and we know you are too!
Vini from our Epsom store had the amazing opportunity to speak to Steve Casado (Design Engineer) and Tim Shaw (Chief Engineer) from Fender to discuss the secrets behind Fender's new American Performer Pro II pickups.
We chat all about the evolution of the American Pro series, developing techniques to improve playability and insight into Steve and Tim's role in designing aspects (mainly pickups) in the new line. This is a great opportunity to hear first-hand stories from top Fender designers.

I can't believe this video doesn't have a lot more views. Tim Shaw is one of the premier pickup makers and what he designs sounds awesome. With dozens of boutique pickups out there all claiming they are the best upgrade and sound better than stock, Tim stands out as a designer for a massive high production brand. The new V-Mod II pickups are simply excellent and as good or better than the majority of after market expensive pickup sets you can put in a strat or tele. He's modest, but the pickup is one of the most important element of an electric guitars tone and playing response. They really make all the difference. I just picked up an American Pro II tele and have no desire whatsoever to change the stock V-Mod pickups. They're perfect. I've changed out pickups on my other Fender and Squier telecasters and gained some improvement in response and tone that is more to my own liking. But these V-mods are right up there with the best on the market.
I love my am pro 2 , I love the pick ups . My only complain is they are not noiseless and they should be .
I like the part where they talk about guitars best
