Hello nice video, will try to go for this as my first build in order to farm for the upcoming builds builds. I have a question which might be silly but i dont have any deeper knowledge on how bleed works here, what is the interaction that makes MA deal so much dmg? Does the shield throw ricochet count as melee when it passes through MA? i dont understand
The shield throw triggers the MA to spin which is considered a melee attack for MA. So if MA has 500% bleed chance on melee hit, that is applied to each spin. And a single shield throw can trigger 2 spins so with a lot of throwing attack speed, bleed stacks stack really well. On top of that, the MA multiplies the insane chest/helm bleed related affixes like bleed duration and phys penetration with bleed. So all of that combined makes for crazy dps :D
Thanks for the build. It is fun to play. Have you experienced any issues during the Lagon "Ending the Storm" Quest Echo? The shield doesn't ricochet off of Manifest Armour at all. Was wondering if you experienced that as well? I am under powered for that fight

Hello, nice Guide thanks . Is there any good way to farm idols, feels bad with out them? Does Damage over time really increase my damage since it a minion applying the bleed and not me? I see you have necrotic damage and Chance to ignite in the build planer does that really do anything? Also why are you using Lightning Shred Blessing? Video idea > How to farm gear. Early, Mid & Late game. I know you have a video showing dungeon farming for Exalted items . but cant really do that on a new char with no gear/Keys. Would Love to see you make Loots Filters Thanks again for the Guides .
I would farm the idols from monolith rewards. Damage over time only scales the Manifest Armor damage if it's in one of the slots that it inherits stats from. So that's weapon, chest, helmet, gloves, boots. Nah those are just sealed affixes that I got rid of so I could put a T5 useful affix in their place. Lightning Shred Blessing is just leftover from a different build I was trying. The blessings from that timeline aren't very impactful to this build so I left it as is. That's a good video idea, I'll add it to my list and hopefully get to it eventually! I started working on loot filters. 2 of the builds have them so far. This one will be next :) And thanks for the questions and feedback!
Levelled one yesterday, got to around lvl 70, really strong build but the minion AI was getting on my nerves so I had to drop, still, great job on this one, definitely S tier for everything besides multi-player since your shield bounce on party members, lowering your damage output.
Yah good point on the multiplayer anti-synergy. I made a post on the suggestion forums to hopefully get that changed because it discourages team play lol
Short question, does damage over time on bardiche (not mistaken with minion damage over time) also help with the bleed damage from manifest armor? Love the build thusfar (also your lightning blast build :)
@@TheCurseBG Thanks so much for your reply! Was unsure on that one since titan sword states it scales with your weapon's stats, quite a cryptic description in comparison to the other passive's; gloves, helm, armor, boots etc.
Just looking at finding ways to level this as it's the first Paladin build I like the look of - I hate the upkeep of Sigils of Hope required for most builds! Do you think a Bleeding Heart would help with sustain until I get smite idols?
First time playing LE again after 4 years, your videos seem like some of the best from the community so far. Are most good builds DoT based? and if so, which DoT types are more powerful? Crit in general seems a bit weak for the opportunity cost of other mods/skill points from what I've seen so far.
I think there are some amazing DoT and some amazing crit builds. I wouldn't say DoT is king right now. I personally prefer crit builds haha. But I had to try the MA Bleed one
Nice one! Already have it on level 95, there is still one question. Why do we stack physical damage when bleed is affected by phys dmg overtime? Is it for the minion swipe spell?
Hi, nice build guide! I was wondering if you would know how to rate a Paladin Shield Throw build in your list? It's supposed to have been buffed in 0.9 and I like the gameplay. What do you think?
Hey im looking to switch from smite hammerdin as I am struggling at 300+ corruption. Do you have a endgame edition for this build with possibly uniques / legendaries instead of a starter edition?
Honestly, this build is great with just exalts. The one unique that I think might add a lot to the build is a really well rolled 3LP titan heart with the 2 sentinel prefixes fused into it.
Amazing build, got myself up to T4 Julra too without an issue. Do you have any experience with Void Knight? Hoping to get your thoughts on a void cleave into guaranteed crit erasing strike build.
I haven't made a VK yet :( But I've theory crafted the void cleave erasing strike combo. Playing around a 4 second cycle with abilities that don't persist in any way might get challenging. But I haven't tried it so can't tell for sure
I do everything (400 corruption) with VK rive (guarenteed crit on 3rd strike) except t4 julra. Need more armour/life to survive through attacks to allow leech to keep me alive. I have tried playing around erasing strike. But volatile reversal and anomaly buffs are just built for attack speed based dps.
It should still be viable. The new bases are really good so if you can use any of them go for it. Careful in multiplayer because the shield bounces to allies.
i see a lot of builds around killing this exact boss and nothing else . Is this boss like " the last boss " or something akin to elder/sirus in poe ? Also is he the best for farming the best loot ? I'm brand new to this game and i just wanna know
There are 3 "dungeons" which are pinnacle endgame content, kind of like unique maps in PoE, and each one forces a new skill you have to use to beat both the dungeon and the final boss (in this case it's how the player is shifting between the two timelines instantly).Temporal Sanctum is the most ubiquitous of this content, because the reward is access to the Eternity Cache, which is how you utilize the "Legendary Potential" crafting system that allows you to craft onto unique items. T4 - the highest difficulty you can access for these dungeons - gives the best reward, in this case being able to craft onto the highest level uniques with the Eternity Cache. The other two dungeons don't have rewards that are quite as useful for all builds as the Eternity Cache, so this boss has kind of become the de-facto pinnacle content to test against since it's the one most everyone will want to be able to clear.
@@WallachGaming hah, interesting. I never thought to use the dungeon mechanics like that. I just tanked julras attacks because I thought we were supposed to. and I tanked it just fine.
I just use Julra as a benchmark. Everyone can claim they have the best build ever so we need some sort of way to benchmark that claim. I think T4 Julra and monolith corruption level are decent benchmarks. Corruption can be gamed a bit if you avoid all the damage nodes and T4 Julra can be gamed a bit if you just spec pure single target dps but most people will see through that.
Can you confirm if the suffix, "Increased Area for Melee Area Skills," the one that can only be applied to 2h axe/mace/spear/sword, actually effects the aoe of the spin attack on MA? I am testing it right now with 30% and 0% and there doesn't seem to be a difference.
Strange, you can see in the video that I tested it and the area grew in size. I didn't check whether the damage was properly applied to the area of the animation but I suspect it should.
@@TheCurseBG I just figured out that manifest armor is a snap shot skill, at least right now, perhaps it is not intended. By snap shot I mean the only thing that matters is what you have equipped when you summon it. I saw what you did in the video, and it worked in real time. The obvious problem with this snap shot thing is that you can super buff your minion with all minion gear and then switch to your shield throw gear, which may be way too powerful. If it is intended, you may need to keep a minion set on hand to quick switch when you summon it, though you still do need to keep your relevant bleed gear on.
Is it work with Forge Guard? I build FG with summon forged weapons from warpath and MF. But It's unbearable. Always need keep the key pressed. But i like summoner playstale
I’m curious why is manifest inspiration on shield throw so important. It’s just an aoe surely taking warpath would be better since you also get aoe and it uses main weapon plus also gives bleed (I’m not sure if shield throw uses weapon stats?)
The build is a bit clunky and given all the new toys EHG have added to the game, I'd say it only has DPS and not much else. The clear is very frustrating and survivability is a massive problem. I might revisit it if there is a patch that buffs it in some way.
Hey Curse, a have a question. I did some research here. Are you sure the area of effect affix is working? Because I tested the sword with 50% skill area increase and the area didn't increase. With gloves the same situation, the area of effect does not increase.
I just picked up a weapon and I see that Increased Area for Melee Area Skills is a suffix. Would you still choose that over bleed on hit or damage over time for minions? Thanks!
Ya I messed up on that, the gloves Area being a prefix confused me. I would not choose Area over bleed/minion DOT in the weapon. Area in the gloves has much higher benefits because it gets multiplied by 3.4x from the MA skill tree.
I really like your content and the way you talk about the game, really like that you go for the endgame, and minmax builds. But let me give you a suggestion to reach more viewers and in my humble opinion improve your content. Make a only rare build planner for midgame players (because that nice exalts with the right mods will take time to get) and then also show if possible, how a "budget setup" will go vs that kind of endgame content. Because is diferent you saying that is good, than you really showing. Hope you understand that I just wanna help. Keep the good content. I made the crit version and was insane good, now will try this one, thx.
That's great feedback bro thanks for bringing it up! Especially for a build like this that is intended to power boost you from mid game to end game. I added a planner with rares/blues only version with 20 passive points unspent, no smite idols because those are hard to farm (replaced healing source with Lunge), and some other minor adjustments. Check it out, I added it to the video description as well: www.lastepochtools.com/planner/YQWVXz3A
I don't get how you can spam shield throw. Base mana is 60, there is -25 mana cost in the tree but also +8 so -17 mana cost. It should cost 47 but I see the mana drop by only 3. What did I missed?
lvl 54 and my MA dies constantly and the overall dmg is not better than just using spinning hammers with bleed. (way higher dps tbh) I dont know if im very unlucky with drops, if iv missed something or if its pointless to play the build without the idols for smite(so i can heal my MA) I dont know, iv tried to get all the stats and skills on my shield/MA from the build planner but it feels terrible atm.
If MA keeps dying, try adding more "increased minion health" affixes on your rings and other gear. And until you get all the idols, get the "minion health regen" mod on your belt and helmet to keep your MA alive. You can drop those once you get smite idols online.
@@TheCurseBG Is this an issue while leveling, MA dying easily? Do we have to invest in minion health and minion health regen in order for the build to work until we get smite idols so we can keep it alive? if that is the case you should mention it somewhere that without smite idols the build does not work as intended because MA dies easily. I dont know how bad this is but if i need to farm smite idols in order for this to work properly maybe i need to look for another starter farmer build :(
@@Anzatoro Yea you definitely want minion health and minion health regen early on in the game. The build does not struggle with DPS so you just want to find a way to keep your MA alive so it deals the insane dps.
How is a build with no mobility skill an A in mobility on the tier list? Especially when the only thing it *can* get is lunge--which the javelin build also gets (but has a lower rating)? Why are there different ratings for builds that both have no movement, lol?
When I put A on the MA build I was actually thinking of a combination of the MA and our hero. MA is actually pretty speedy if you invest in the boots node. Necro minions are so sluggish compared to MA with 4 points in boots node. But you're right, the bleed version has 0 points in the boots node so does not deserve A.
Hello there is a way to gain sustain ? i'm lvl 78 and have only 1380 HP and no ward etc: how i can leech with this build plz ? (or be more tanky) , and thanks for this build it's my first and i love it !
The sustain comes a bit later from the Smite idols with shield throw triggering Smite which heals both you and your Manifest Armor. However, those idols are a bit rare and drop later on in the game. So for the mid game I would recommend running Lunge instead of smite and getting the % heal on lunge use node. And running minion health regen in belt or helmet to keep your MA alive. That should sustain you until you get your smite idols.
How come this is played on paladin? Is it just the sustain side? Is it possible to make manifest armour/forged weapon bleed? Or is it just way better to concentrate on spamming shield throw?
@@samphillips141 Forged weapons would steal from the shield throw bounces and reduce your clear speed so I think they would have anti-synergy with the build.
Try using this one. Download it into your loot filters folder and LE will pick it up automatically. drive.google.com/file/d/1zpfksaNZyIk-E_SbKGjgew0Ty72NOjCj/view?usp=sharing
Forge Guard will do ok as well. They have a passive node that gives quite a bit of physical damage to Manifest Armor. Holy Aura on Paladin is quite strong though.
Try monoliths and targeting idol rewards. You need empowered monolith blessings to optimize your character anyway so do those in a way that target farms your idols while you progress through them.
Update! Manage to get 4 Smite Idols yesterday! RNG Jesus was good to me! Now farming for items! I saw that you use Lunge for mobility right now... didn't think about that...
Yea it should be good single target, a bit weak in monos. Don't play this build in multiplayer because shield throw bounces to allies so your DPS plummets.
Is the loot filter for this build, just extremely picky, or? Ever since I copied it, it hasn't shown any gear at all, except for set items, exalted and unique's? :)
lol maybe I set it too picky - it's definitely a loot filter for the endgame. I'll take another look. You can edit the part that says "hide all normal/magic/rare items" and remove the "rare" item rarity from that in the meanwhile ;)
@@TheCurseBG It's not that I mind it's picky, I just wasn't too sure about how picky it was. It did hide a rare with 40% physical penetration for bleed though
One last question. I was able to find Valdyrs Chalice at lvl 65, and I wonder if it would be good to use that for this build? Also those bleed modifications on the helm and chest, is that shards you find? Because I'm lvl 78 now, and I haven't found any yet.
@@juliejakobsen-bf2gu The MA only benefits from boots/gloves/chest/helm/weapon. Relic's stats don't carry over to the MA so don't bother with the Chalice. The Bleed bonuses on helm/chest are from shards. The best way to acquire them is by targeting (you can make a loot filter rule that colors them for you) items that have them. If you drop a chest piece with T4 phys pen for bleed, even if it is an awful chest, you can apply a rune of removal to it and get all 4 of those shards out of it. If the rune of removal hits a different affix, try again. If the item runs out of forging potential, you can use rune of shattering and get 0-4 of those shards at random. So I would target those affix shards until you have enough in your stash to craft the item you want.
If you look at the Shield Throw node Manifest Inspiration, that's actually an AOE melee attack triggered on the MA. So that Manifest Inspiration attack benefits from the Area bonuses. Just make sure to recast your MA after adding the area gear.
@@TheCurseBG Thank you. I tested this, but I have not enough gear for it (especially "good" weapon). Did you also test it with ignite or "doom damage" (there is an unique 2-h-axe with 100 % doom) or the force breath? How much stronger is bleed (in seconds to kill boss) in comparison?
@@csac1979I tried a little bit of the fire breath and it looked fun but damage was underwhelming. Doom is capped at 3 stacks so it can't do much dmg. Ignite might be ok but the MA skills are not considered "fire skills" so I don't know if it will work as well. I think bleed is best based on my tests :D

Thanks for the guide! Just a quick question, if you dual wield does the MA get stats from both your weapons?
Good question that I forgot to mention in the video - MA gets the stats from both weapons indeed!
Would Love to see you make Loots Filters
Thanks again for the Guides .
This one will be next :)
And thanks for the questions and feedback!
The loot filter link above does not seem to work when I paste it in, it says no valid loot filter. Am I doing something wrong?
It's an entire xml file so I think you have to select the load lootfilter from file option. Let me know if you need more details
Short question, does damage over time on bardiche (not mistaken with minion damage over time) also help with the bleed damage from manifest armor? Love the build thusfar (also your lightning blast build :)
Yes it does because of the one node in the MA skill tree that allows your MA to inherit your weapon's bonuses. Thank you
@@TheCurseBG Thanks so much for your reply!

Physical damage applies to both on hit and damage over time physical damage. So "Minion physical damage" stats also help MA deal more dmg.
Hi, nice build guide!
I was wondering if you would know how to rate a Paladin Shield Throw build in your list? It's supposed to have been buffed in 0.9 and I like the gameplay. What do you think?
Sorry I wish I could, I have not tried it out so I can't say
Would chance to shred armour on hit be a good affix to have on gloves ?
Shred Armour doesn't increase Bleed (or any other ailment) damage.
But volatile reversal and anomaly buffs are just built for attack speed based dps.
going through your excel sheet ira sher maseeee and checking what build is still viable on 1.0 :D is this viable :D
Yep, slightly nerfed but very much viable! :D
Do you think this build has changed much since you posted it 🤔. And if so what would it be
It should still be viable.
Hello ! Do you have a filter for this build ? Thanks a lot.
Just finished it!
drive.google.com/file/d/1zpfksaNZyIk-E_SbKGjgew0Ty72NOjCj/view?usp=sharing
I never really even considered paladin with a minion. It really does look good as a league starter though.
What skill should you use instead of Holy aura since I am aForge guard and can’t use that?
You could try ring of shields for survivability or void cleave for extra boss dmg
Can you confirm if the suffix, "Increased Area for Melee Area Skills," the one that can only be applied to 2h axe/mace/spear/sword, actually effects the aoe of the spin attack on MA? I am testing it right now with 30% and 0% and there doesn't seem to be a difference.
im seeing the same issue, I also see an issue with the minion gaining affects from gloves as well, i think it's just bugged
It definitely works with FG! I think Paladin is slightly stronger but FG will be very close.
I’m curious why is manifest inspiration on shield throw so important. It’s just an aoe surely taking warpath would be better since you also get aoe and it uses main weapon plus also gives bleed (I’m not sure if shield throw uses weapon stats?)
Shield Throw's Manifest Inspiration triggers the spinning attack on the minion and that is our only source of damage basically.
How would you lvl it? Im gonna start fresh in ssf and thought about this build. If its still viable this patch ofc
It's just as viable! I would probably javelin or hammers until some of the key skills and nodes are unlocked.
Will you do update for 1.0? Thank you!
The Manifest Armor is snapshotted so you need to resummon it every time you change your items. Otherwise the change does not take effect dynamically.
@@TheCurseBG ooooooh, now it makes sense D:
I just picked up a weapon and I see that Increased Area for Melee Area Skills is a suffix. Would you still choose that over bleed on hit or damage over time for minions? Thanks!
Ya I messed up on that, the gloves Area being a prefix confused me. I would not choose Area over bleed/minion DOT in the weapon. Area in the gloves has much higher benefits because it gets multiplied by 3.4x from the MA skill tree.
@@TheCurseBG Much appreciated on the response!
Ive tested every area modifier, and im not seeing any increase the the sweep aoe. Ive tried gloves, amulet and the mod on two hand weapons.
Did you make sure to resummon your Manifest Armor? It's snap shotted so you have to refresh it for the new item bonuses to take effect.
@@TheCurseBG Oh, thank you. I thought I was going crazy.
Nice video, would you please share your loot filter for this build
Sorry, still need to make one :(
@@TheCurseBG have you managed to make one :) it was 12 days ago :D
@@petardinjo Yes it's in the video description now! :)
@@TheCurseBG The filter doesn't have the "standard" "show all unique/set/exalted" items filter. Is this intentional?
@@nzgrover I think I don't have those hidden so there is no need to apply the "show" line.
Check it out, I added it to the video description as well:
www.lastepochtools.com/planner/YQWVXz3A
@@TheCurseBG thx mate, that will help alot of people. and your content is good you deserve more people
I don't get how you can spam shield throw. Base mana is 60, there is -25 mana cost in the tree but also +8 so -17 mana cost. It should cost 47 but I see the mana drop by only 3. What did I missed?
You sure you don't have some of the forge guard passives making it more expensive? Base mana cost is 20 for shield throw.
lvl 54 and my MA dies constantly and the overall dmg is not better than just using spinning hammers with bleed. (way higher dps tbh)
I dont know if im very unlucky with drops, if iv missed something or if its pointless to play the build without the idols for smite(so i can heal my MA)
I dont know, iv tried to get all the stats and skills on my shield/MA from the build planner but it feels terrible atm.
Nice build! Is this HC viable?
yep definitely HC viable
@@TheCurseBG Thanks :)
What do you do before you get the idols for MA survivability?
Spec into Lunge and get the 40% heal on Lunge node! You can get 2 charges of it too if you need
Been trying to get the smite idols all day. So frustrating.
yah they are definitely the most difficult component to acquire for this build! GL
Is this better than the old manifest armor build you had a couple months ago?
Ya I think it is only slightly better.
Cool video
Thanks!
How come this is played on paladin? Is it just the sustain side?
Is it possible to make manifest armour/forged weapon bleed? Or is it just way better to concentrate on spamming shield throw?
focusing on spamming shield throwing should yield more DPS
@@TheCurseBG Better monolith clear too? Or would forged weapons work well there?
@@samphillips141 Forged weapons would steal from the shield throw bounces and reduce your clear speed so I think they would have anti-synergy with the build.

is this build much worse on a Forge Guard? i already am lvl75 and dont really want to level a Paladin again
Forge Guard will do ok as well. They have a passive node that gives quite a bit of physical damage to Manifest Armor. Holy Aura on Paladin is quite strong though.
Is there any specific area to farm Smite idols maybe? Thank you!

Is the crit MA still viable in todays patch?
Yep just as viable!
Still good for 1.0 cycle starter ?
Yea it should be good single target, a bit weak in monos. Don't play this build in multiplayer because shield throw bounces to allies so your DPS plummets.
my sentinel is lvl 89 and i haven't dropped a ,,cast smite on throwing attack,, idol once xd

@@juliejakobsen-bf2gu Thanks that's good feedback, I'll have to add a different set of filters for the early/mid game that is a bit less strict ;)
Please again: Why do your MA need area? MA only makes a single enemy attack no area attack???
If you look at the Shield Throw node Manifest Inspiration, that's actually an AOE melee attack triggered on the MA. So that Manifest Inspiration attack benefits from the Area bonuses. Just make sure to recast your MA after adding the area gear.
@@TheCurseBG I understand. But the MA "alone" does not benefit from AOE?
@@csac1979 not with its auto-attack
I think bleed is best based on my tests :D
is it only for boss killing?

Ya this one is more of a bossing build. You need lots of +area for area skills for monoliths. Which you can afford to put in place of some damage because the build does insane damage anyway.
Do the Attack and Cast Speed nodes in SMITE affect throwing attack speed?
I think if it says generic "attack speed" it should add to throwing attack speed. Easy to test as well with the character stat sheet
