Effectively it was sort of infected with the real William aftons memories after he died. It is implied in lore that William only began murdering after the death of one of his own children and the rabbit is a sort of physical manifestation of his actions which includes him being an abusive father.

This game is honestly what fnaf as a franchise needed the most, it first and foremost confirms that the "spin-off" books are actually canon and settles that age old debate. Also its the first game in the series where we see actual dead kiddies (yay!!) hopefully they'd be doing more of this subtle non-child friendly stuff in the future. And it has a very short and coherent plot compared to literally any game (except for RUIN, its too based like that) in this god forsaken series;
A few good scares, plenty of Easter eggs like the Stitchwraith standing in the window of Oswald's room or the secret minigames based on other stories from the same book series.
Also community references like the drawkill freddy face in the arcade or the buff helpy minigame were pretty good.
Its very balanced in everything it does, thats good, i want more of that.
I don't think thats what this does. This game is just the first of the book universe games from what we know.

There are some secrets, but they merely confirm matpats theories and using the books to confirm certain details in the main timeline because the books are spinoffs BUILT off of the main timeline (just not canon).

Screw you pyro, now I have to pay for the game, play it for 15 minutes, get bored, play something else, forget about it, and don’t come back to it until a year and a half later, feel bad for paying for it and not using it, and force myself to play it.
The animations are soooooo beautiful, to be fair I can't even be scared, I love seeing this type of art when It's so well done, especially at this moment in 9:35
So... that thing is not good old Willy. It's a manifestation of the agony he caused. The amount of suffering he caused and endured himself created this pure agony creature. The suit is actually real, but the thing inside of it isn't. The past in this game (or a book) is a memory of the incident created by, once again, agony of the victims. It's all paranormal. You don't actually go back in time. You just sit inside the ball pit and seeing paranormal visions. In the original story Oswald just lived for a few days with the Yellow Thing in place of his dad and returned ONCE to Jeff's pizza and just pulled his dad from the pit. He never did the whole quest of finding his dad inside the pizzeria. The game of course would be different, but it's gameplay does create some plot holes. Like, how could Oswald take the rat from the supposedly not real place into the real world? Is this rat also an agony creature or what? But I don't mind those problems. It's just a really fun game
