Eric is such a great partner my dudes, he's so proud and encouraging. Arielle is also excellent at communicating when she raised her voice and said "Im sorry I'm not yelling at you, I'm just scared". Its the communication for me ❤❤❤
As a hearing impaired og I talk loudly sometimes in normal conversations with people and I have to be reminded of my loud voice. So yeah I’m not yelling. Lol 😂. Moonttellthat dad “don’t talk loud”

We love the Vids & Research! Yeh Lake Trout in Canada & US seem to like the white 4" Tube with a spinner or spoon at front, summer or winter, I think 20 feet deeper summer? Let me know what you think? Tight Lines 😃🙃🧜♂
Arielle talking about the fish as if it’s a cat or dog she found on the street “we’re going to keep it I’m going to keep it “ 😂 love how freaking excited she was to catch something like a little kid lol
The best channel on UA-cam 🏆Every single thing-what you’re doing, the cinematography, the editing-is just top notch. I didn’t know watching two people living their lives off grid in Alaska could be so entertaining and compelling!
When Eric handed Arielle that fish, her reaction was like she was being given her own new born baby! Near tears, totally in love, "he's beautiful!" I love your passion, lady- made me laugh out loud
My nickname for Eric is McGyver...he has the tools, ideas and attitude to take care of whatever is thrown his way. Ariel is his perfect counter part. "The Dynamic Duo" ❤
What a gorgeous place. The views, the wildlife, the northern lights are just wonderful. You put in just the right amount of travel, scenery, cooking, and fishing. Thank you so much. And the dogs didn't have a long trip too
My goodness, you guys have taken my breath away. I am awestruck by your ever-growing artistic talent--both in filming and editing. I am humbled. Thank you ❄
You have inspired my daughter and myself to go for it and not wait to live the clean lifestyle we want. We are bringing my 6 year old grandson to Alaska camping and tripping around for 2 weeks for his 7th birthday.
Oh me. I know how wonderful it must be and how dangerous. Please please hire a guide! Taking a young child into that environment can and will be so very dangerous! 😮 God be with you guys.🤲 🙏 I’d love to be young and strong enough to be there. But it’s much safer watching and hearing the adventures from Eric and Ariel. ❤
Ariel just had a 20 minute conversation by herself… LOL Wow the Northern lights were unreal. The one looked like a caterpillar! Your wildlife shots were amazing, so many different kinds of animals! Good job you guys! Thanks for sharing!
Omg! I’ve been watching you guys for years and this is hands-down one of the BEST videos yet! The excitement of catching that beast of a fish was contagious, seeing the mink & the otter made me smile, and the Northern Lights were spectacular!!!
True facts!!! It was a great video. It has some of eveything. I love how they post videos of "failed" hunting or fishing trips to keep it real AND to show that sometimes it Is all about the journey. But that makes me extra joyful for them when they are succesfull

By far one of my absolute favourite episodes of you two. We must have watched the part where Arielle catches the fish 5 times and were so happy. You rarely find such honest emotions. Best wishes from the cold north of Sweden
WOW Ariel, those were some bloody amazing shots! I've never seen the northern lights like that before! This had to be one of the best videos you two have produced ever!
Thank you for the laugh! You both were so excited shouting Eric! Arielle! It was so funny but endearing at the same time. The Northern lights display was so beautiful, you guys are so very lucky to be able to view it. Thank you for sharing your cabin trip with us.
What a wonderful vlog. Love, love Arielle’s enthusiasm. She is just a kid finding a jar of candies. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous adventure. Best ❤
A truly delightful episode. Your filming always leaves us in awe. You are so creative. The choice of music for the Northern Lights was inspired. Just magic.

Love it. When Areille mentions in the beginning of the video that they are making sure the path is clear to cabin before subjecting the dogs to a possible cold ride. It shows you can have fun in this type of climate, but it can turn serious, and you should be prepared.
I'm still in awe at the stunning shots and footage you two put together and share with your viewers...and it is FREE! What a fantastic adventure, the scenery, northern lights, wild life, and that HUGE TROUT! Thanks guys, can't wait for the next one.
I got introduced to the northern lights by ex girlfriend and I’ve been a huge a admirer of them ever since , northern lights , Iceland , Lapland etc etc etc just amazes me and I love your videos , I’ve been watching yall from almost more than a year now and your videos comfort me at times when I’m low , it makes me feel better , I imagine myself and my ex doing these things together and it makes me feel even better and happier , cheers to you both !! Another terrific show-I really think of it as a show. Nothing on TV compares. You two are the perfect couple, I enjoy every adventure you take us on, anf thanks so much.
Your Alaskan getaway-from-home menus are more varied and impressive than my suburban the-supermarket-is-three-minutes-away meal preparations. This was an excellent visual travelogue (as usual) with the scenery and wildlife.
WOW! What a beautiful lake trout!! I've never seen one that big. I live in Arizona, and have caught a lot of trout (rainbow), but definitely nowhere near that big! Such a lovely place, too. Thanks so much for the time and trouble to share with us!❤✌
What a fun video, looked like a great trip. Eric, it looked like Arielle's "20 minute conversation with herself" about the correct jig payed off!! That was a BIG fish! My favorite thing about the two of you is your enthusiasm and zest for life. You two have figured out what life is really all about. Thanks for taking us along.
Pay'n'Save was still around in the 1970s and I think the early 1980s before it vanished from western WA...which was when I was a little girl. I'll be 52 soon! Also, thumbs up SPECIFICALLY for "chickening out" on how far out on the ice you were willing to go. You're not desperation-fishing for pure survival; you have other food to eat, so you don't *have* to take dangerous risks. It's great to see such wisdom in action!
I really enjoyed this outing of yours - always love your videos, every single time, but it was great to see the two of you so relaxed and having fun. You work so hard, all the time. This video had it all, you are an amazing pair.
Watching this video makes me think it really is an amazing world we have to live in. Wildlife, northern lights , lakes and rivers, mountains yes it is a wonderful planet
Its really nice to see a couple thats been together for a longer while to show that love can survive time...I've been with the 'old man' for 41 years...wishing y'all many many more happy years...btw I just love the videos...those northern lights!!! WOW
Hello, besties!!! Goodness, -27° is BEYOND!!!! Y’all crack me up with your adventures in the cold. Literally, that’s the only reason why Alaska isn’t overrun with nuts like me. Hang on to your hankies, tho. I’ll be there one day. 😂❤

Could Ariel get anymore excited about fishing ? That adventure was really something. Glad the dogs get to go and enjoy it also even with the extreme cold. Speaking of cold, equipment freezes up so you just deal with it. A big hammer solves alot of problems. My wife and I sure enjoy our favorite Alaskan couple. Be safe. Till next time.
What a trip!!! 😄Watching Ariel hit that fish and the both of them freakin the F out was awesome!!! Side note, should have called this... "We caught a BEAST!"
Hello Arielle & Eric I am a 57 yo city life for the most part. I thoroughly enjoy your videos , the content is top drawer. However the respect and Love you show for each other, your animals and the earth is so commendable! Much respect to you both. God bless ❤
My heart gets so full with admiration for you guys and your lifestyle. My goal is to eventually break away from construction work and have a self sustaining business so I can live where only animals are my neighbors.
The northern lights were, for me, completely ethereal. On the last clip of the lights it seemed as though I could see someone, completely spiritual, running across the sky. Tears totally filled my eyes. The music for this scene was also perfect. Thank you guys so much for your creating this event for us. God bless you guys.
Another awesome video. The wildlife, northerlights, scenery around the cabin, the cabin, music and last but not least the trout which i was laughing so hard when Arielle was pulling it in. I myself like trout which i used to fish for but, I'd have to say northern pike is my favorite. Thanks for another great fishing adventure. Blessings to you both. 😊🇺🇲
What a way to land a 28” lake trout ! Those rascals grow up to be huge. That was good rail food . This was a great adventure and I enjoyed watching it while under a down comforter!! 😊
Not sure if someone's already said it but the numbered tag on the lake trout you caught is called an anchor dart tag aka "Floy tag". ADFG would definitely be interested in getting the recovery information: tag number, location, date caught, size (you measured total length in vid, not fork length), and sex if you remember from when you cleaned it.
I was jumping up and down when you hooked that trout! How incredibly exciting!!! That is the biggest trout I've ever seen....enjoy the fruits of your labour!
Haven't been on this channel for quite some time. You guys have evolved massive in production quality. Also very heart warming to watch the manner you speak to each other. I'm sure you have your own demons, but you're pushing through a very important message here for individuals. Listening, encouraging, acknowledging and so on. Wish you all the best from Europe.
Eric is such a great partner my dudes, he's so proud and encouraging. Arielle is also excellent at communicating when she raised her voice and said "Im sorry I'm not yelling at you, I'm just scared". Its the communication for me ❤❤❤

Love the excitement here. Arielle miss your laugh and so jealous of all your adventures.
Awe 🥰 Dailene, I miss you and the team! I hope your family is well and you have a lovely Christmas and New Year ☃️
you as well. Stay safe up there. @@SimpleLivingAlaska
What an adventure, you guys! Bo and Bandit are truly stalwart Alaskan adventurers.
Could you tell be if the northern lights make any sound?
I have experienced two high Arctic camping trips and saw many aurora borealis events. They are pure silent.
Yes they do. I lived in N Western Ontario and sometimes they whistle as they move and on occasion they sound like music playing quietly.
They sometimes crackle if they are close enough overhead. Most of the time you don't hear anything
Awesome fish!!!!!! What a catch, I would be pumped too 🤙
My heart gets so full with admiration for you guys and your lifestyle. My goal is to eventually break away from construction work and have a self sustaining business so I can live where only animals are my neighbors.
Ha, for a minute your title looked like take out for dinner! I loved the Northern lights, OMG!!! Thank you for showing them on your video :)
Yeah!! More fishing ❤❤congrats on the trout!
I love how thoughtful you are about fishing and hunting. You appreciate the life that’s providing you with food.
Thanks for taking us along on your adventures! Seeing the Northern Lights, and your beautiful cinematography was the icing on the cake.
Loved this! No surprise there, y'all always make me happy! What a fish! The excitement! Love it!
What a way to land a 28” lake trout ! Those rascals grow up to be huge. That was good rail food . This was a great adventure and I enjoyed watching it while under a down comforter!! 😊
You guys are my number one favorite channel out of all the channels I follow❤❤❤❤❤❤
The lake trout scene was hilarious......loved it. Keep the great videos coming
Prayers continue for you. God give you strength and comfort. You two are the sweetest people I Love your channel.
Watching her clean. That's typical of us good old boys! lol
Most awesome video ever. Travel, scenery, wildlife, great food, real life events. Completely impressed the way you two have it so together.
I was jumping up and down when you hooked that trout! How incredibly exciting!!! That is the biggest trout I've ever seen....enjoy the fruits of your labour!
Thank you for sharing your amazing life with us. I really enjoyed seeing all the animals and the northern lights. The scenery is just breathtaking!
What a treat this video is!!! Thank you for the wonderful experience...I almost feel like I was there with you!!
The Northern Lights, are on my bucket list. Thanks for making my day.
You both give me so much joy every time you take me a long.
