Unless it's tubes. beware of the tubes. I had to import them from unreal engine, because blender doesn't know how to handle them.

Pro tip - when you use any tool, look down at the status bar, it'll tell you all the contextual keys it has
C for clamp. Works on a lot more in Blender

Or just make sure you check the Clamp overlap setting, in the bevel options, thats what the C does, activate the clamping overlap

Its called clamping.
But once you bevel the two edges together u can't unbevel it (move the edges individually).
You have undo the whole task.

I hate how ofter blender 4.0 breaks over such nonsense. Earlier versions were more stable.
I've noticed with your videos. That the shaders for your cube have a defined edge to them. As in, the shader gets lighter in color as its closer to the edge of the object. How do i replicate that?
Its "Cavity" setting.
I don't remember exactly where it is, search it up online

Is there any difference between beveling in edit mode and using the bevel modifier?
By using bevel modifier, you can revert the changes any time you want, edit the settings, etc.
Doing it in edit mode is deatructive(in other words, permanent. And it's very difficult to revert it back later.)
Will the point in the middle be two edges still or will the automatically merge into one? In other words, do I have to manually merge the top edges afterword?
should be a half circle as long as your scale is equal on all axis. if not press CTRL + A and press scale.

Blender has too many commands gaddamn. 3D is not for me…
Why isnt this standard? Its so dumb and overcomplicated. the fact that you have to hit a secret button just to stop something from happening that nobody wants or is even useful or has advantages is truly dumb and i strongly hate that. And this just goes through etire blender.
Ita not secret you can see those "secret" buttons at the bottom of your screen when doing a bevel or other things
Because that's an optional feature.
Who needs it, will turn it on.
