I have a haunting love for Federal "Fire Chief or now the Federal Qs" One of the new Riggs the local Ambulance service purchased had a big Q on the roof. I was working my midnight shift in the Emergency Room and they called us on the radio and said they were coming in with a badly injured person. This was probably 3:00am? I decided to go out to the Ambulance Bay to have a cigarette before I got tied up with a major trauma. The town they were coming from was 10 to 15 miles away from the hospital. It was a warm quiet and still summer night and as I was going back in I stopped to put my cigarette out in the ashtray and swore I could hear them coming up M-46? I went back to the bay and sure enough, I could hear that sucker cranking up.
“New” Engine 66 huh? Air horn doesn’t work….lol😊
