The White Buffalo, another great artist whose back catalog you should explore deeply on your own time and in future videos!!! Review next "I Wish It Were True" by The White Buffalo.
10 til 2 is my second fav song.... my favorite song I have seen him preform is the Patrick Swayze Song. I really wish I could find that Patrick Swayze song he does.
I found him when he was opening for Angus & Julia Stone, and he was incredible live. It was really funny, because he walked out with his acoustic completely alone, just this massive man with a huge beard and long hair, and nobody knew what to expect, but the second he started singing we were all stunned. Seriously an incredible performance.
I’ve been a fan of him for a while. Now I don’t regular watch music reviews but this guys raw reaction to a very underrated song was so pure. That I’m subbing.
Love the White Buffalo. So glad you covered this. He did a podcast with Jocko where jocko does a personal monologue opening and then Jake (The White Buffalo) plays. Worth some minutes listening to the powerful role that music plays in our lives.
Ben Caplan's live version of "down to the river" is a song that dug me out a deep emotional hole. Seeing as how you appreciate tunes with deep yet not complicated lyrics, I think you'll get a kick out of it. Either way the la for all your videos brother, I've been surfing UA-cam for some form of entertainment and was having the hardest time finding something worth watching. But then I found your reactions....love em, watched as many as I can find and I look forward to anything you put our in the future. Keep grooving bro👌
Yes sir ! I feel at home on this channel and you sir, just spoke the trust on the "down to the river". Tyler Childers, Colter Wall, The White Buffalo, now Ben Caplan ..
You should do “Broken Window Serenade” by Whiskey Meyers. Probably one of the greatest stories in any song in my opinion. Has great guitar playing and a harmonica too
I love this song. Maybe because I can relate to it. I can tell when you get hooked to a song. When you stop trying to follow on guitar and I know you got hooked to the sound of the voice or lyrics or both. Lol I was waiting for it
I've been listening to The White Buffalo since I heard his cover of "House of the Rising Sun" for the final song of season 3 of Sons of Anarchy. Googled it in the middle of the song to see who the hell it was.. Seen him live twice and there isn't a song that this guy does that is bad. His story telling ability is some of the best around. Can't wait to see you watch more of this guy.
You should definitely check out Sean Rowe’s version of “1952 Vincent Black Lightning”. Great storytelling, killer guitar, and an intensity that’s rare with a one man performance. Loving the latest reactions.
No recommendations from me, I just wanted to say that this has become my favourite channel to watch. I love discovering incredible new music through these videos and I love how genuine and excited you seem when you hear something you love. Thanks for brightening my days.
Phenomenal artistry. I'd highly recommend his cover of 'House of the Rising Sun' which he did for Sons of Anarchy. The lyrics have been altered to fit the theme of the show. Also 'Last Call to Heaven' is another great song of his.
White Buffalo is an incredible artist and I truly enjoy your reactions…White Buffalo and “Come Join The Murder” is amazing and all his songs give me chills! I’m spending my morning binging your reactions 😂
You like this one you should check out "Wish it was true" by White Buffalo too. He doesn't get real fancy with most of his guitar playing but as for a singer song writer he does an awesome job.
I've actually seen him sing Freedom/Motherless Child. It was absolutely incredible. I talked to him after the show about that an how much he reminds me of Havens, and he smirked, and told me that's his favorite compliment he gets. Jake is such a great dude.
Thanks Michael. Great break down. I saw White Buffalo last year at the Bourbon Festival. He is an absolute beast, his voice is so powerful not even sure he needed speakers !
That whole album is brilliant. It's a concept album. This is one of very many great songs on the album. This song is really the culmination of the journey.
He sais to himself, don't go downtown, but then he obviously goes, and does kill or fight because he whistles after wards. I just disco ered you. Great channel. I've loved the White Buffalo for years. He's a real musician. He hasn't sold out. All his songs are great and tell stories. I forget the title but there's a new year's song that is AMAZING. great channel thank you
It was so awesome watching your reaction to hearing The White Buffalo. He is one of my favoite musicians and I was smiling ear to ear with watching you see this for the first time! It made my day. Then I see your other videos you got Shakey Graves, Marcus King. I have found my people!!
Thank you for your reaction/ review, just found out abt the white buffalo a few weeks ago. Don't understand how the music industry has gotten so narrow. It's not good business in my opinion to just cater to narrow audiences. Last year sometime I kept hearing abt Chris Stapleton and Tennessee Whiskey, finally came to utube listened to it serveral times. Finally went and just bought that song. After a long while was like what else does he sing. Came back to utube and found out just how outstanding he is. But through comments I've been going down a rabbit hole. Tyler Childers, Sturgill Simpson, Todd Benjamin, Colter Wall and more. Have bought serveral electronic albums. Chris Stapleton story is one were he came to Nashville to be a country musician they didn't want him,but wanted the songs he wrote. Spent yrs. Working everywhere building up his name and act to the point he broke out and became a major country star. This song I WAS WRONG is great I think you would enjoy going down his rabbit whole ua-cam.com/video/Ql3Vz2642pk/v-deo.html. For me he is a next level talent, why the powers that be wouldn't snap him up just based on his voice only I can't understand.
O melhor react que eu já vi dessa música. Perdi as contas de quantas vezes vim aqui rever. Você sentiu realmente a música e se surpreendeu do inicio ao fim. MARAVILHOSO! 👏👏
Hey Michael, been following your channel for a bit. Came to you through the Dead, and have stuck with your videos for the past month or so. I'm not a guitar player myself but have learned SO much more about the artistry and the musical story in each song through your breakdowns. Love em! Now on to this video... I've been going to the White Buffalo live for the past decade or so and you are only at the tip of the iceberg my dude. In your free time, throw on some headphones and listen to the whole album "Shadows, Greys, and Evil Ways." It's an entire album is a concept album written about the life of the Whistler. It's incredible. Anyway, here's to you and giving me a new avenue to appreciate all my favorite music. Cheers brother.
Jake Smith (The White Buffalo) music was on multiple episodes of Sons Of Anarchy including the opening song "Come Join The Murder" and they even changed some of the storyline to be more tied into his lyrics. This band rocks!!!
Loved this. Been hoping you would do this and watching you sit with mouth open reminded me of my reaction the first 10 times I listened to it. Also, it was played on the TV show Sons of Anarchy so you're not far off on the movie mark.
Thanks for the shoutout! Love the channel! It’s always a good feeling to watch someone that appreciates music watch something you love for the first time! Also.... is that a Maryland T-shirt? I’m also in MD.
Said it before, I’ll say it again. Love love love when musicians listen to words and interpret them. It’s always a little bit different, but real musicians can find the story beneath the words, instead of taking what’s given as the story itself.
Hey man.. love your stuff.. I found you when I saw your reaction to Colter Wall.. I was gonna suggest The White Buffalo but it appears as if you already found him lol.. one of my favorite.. he has amazing stuff. This song is actually on the sons of anarchy along with quite a few others he does.. he also does the ending of the entire series of sons of anarchy with “come join the murder” and he even works on the intro to the show.. much love sleep it going man!
Matt Andersen -Devils Bride/Ain't no sunshine. Devil's bride especially is the most raw powerful song I've heard in a while, his voice is incredible. Just him an acoustic and blues!
Lucas Nelson & Promise of the Real! Willie’s son’s band! First discovered them live at the bottom of a mountain in CO and was blown away. He co-wrote the music for the movie A Star is Born (you can even see him in the movie with his band on stage with Bradley Cooper). “Forget About Georgia” is a good example of his work. It’s a sort of response song to “Georgia On My Mind” by Ray Charles. “Find Yourself” is another good one where he duets with Lady Gaga.
Great Vídeo, man! I think you will like to see the song "Pagode em Brasília" from "Tiao Carreiro e Pardinho". It's a like a some kind of Country Music from Brazil. We have a instrument called "viola", in english is called "Brazillian Guitar", this instrument have a very unic sound. Check out! And thank you for your work
This dude sounds so much like Eddie Vedder, it's insane. Definitely checking him out. Also, you should totally check out more Marcus King Band, Sharry Barry/Sliced Milk/25 or 6 to 4/I'll Stay/Gloomy Sunday. It's a weird name but totally worth it.
Hey bud. This may get buried, but Paolo Nutini Iron Sky is a masterful clinic in band dynamic. It only has 58 million views, so it hasn’t gained traction yet 😉. Look, his voice is outstanding, the lyrics are spiritual and politically rebellious and truly moving in the time we’re living, however, it’s the entire bands ability to sonically manipulate an emotional response that has me watching this video once a week. I’m telling you, this is what you would play for music students to teach them individual simplicity that creates a sum greater than its parts. Its the closest to a perfect song I’ve ever heard. Bless you, sir, and thank you for your content. I truly enjoy your videos and ability to explain how music makes you feel. Be safe.
Society needs it’s class of citizens that are our warrior class to fight our wars. They are conditioned as part of the training and experience to a desensitized existence. This story is about the battle between our better angels that takes place inside each of us but particularly within our warriors after the wars. I think the whistle follows the phrygian scale which is common to that Spanish or western sound.
You gotta check out “no good place to cry by Randy houser. He used to be another basic manufactured Nashville country music singer, but this piece is a truly beautiful guitar and vocal showcase. It’s so authentic. Please give it a look.
Kaleo - I Can't Go on Without You (live on 89.3 The Current). I get the feeling you would enjoy it, or probably have already. Either way I would love to hear your thoughts. Keep up the good work!
Holy crap!! UA-cam algorithm 1 Chris 0. Learning this song now because I'm too embarrassed to sing so I whistle for practice. This guy is amazing!!! he totally combines his skills to make pure beauty.

You should listen to “David” by Noah Gundersen...his music was featured prominently on “Sons Of Anarchy”, as was The White Buffalo. He has some other great ones, too...I’d love to hear you review his stuff.
The channel western AF just had an amazing video drop of kassi valazza singing her song johnny dear. There are two guitar parts to dissect and some amazing lyrics I think you would thoroughly enjoy
Prayers to anyone who deals with PTSD🖤🖤🖤

Agree

Love the White Buffalo. So glad you covered this. He did a podcast with Jocko where jocko does a personal monologue opening and then Jake (The White Buffalo) plays. Worth some minutes listening to the powerful role that music plays in our lives.
This album plays as one continuous story. It's fantastic from start to finish!!
I love The White Buffalo, and just watching your expression the whole time and you're experiencing that was great!
Ben Caplan's live version of "down to the river" is a song that dug me out a deep emotional hole. White buffalo/Jake is something special! Amazing artist! Great video once again! Cool to see!
You should do “Broken Window Serenade” by Whiskey Meyers. Probably one of the greatest stories in any song in my opinion. Has great guitar playing and a harmonica too
The reckoning is also really good by WM!
Try "Cocaine and Abel" by Amigo the Devil, beautiful song.
I second this! Amazing song, amazing singer.
Strong 3rd on this one
I strongly recommend the live version from Bridge City Sessions. It hits much better than the studio version IMO.
Definetly a great song!

Everyone's hair on the back of their neck nodded in approval.
You should definitely check out Sean Rowe’s version of “1952 Vincent Black Lightning”. Great storytelling, killer guitar, and an intensity that’s rare with a one man performance. Loving the latest reactions.
One of the best story songs ever, I'll check out that version - thanks
Fantastic song
Yes. I just suggested the same. The guitar play in that is so passionate. You can feel the bike going faster and faster.
ABSOLUTELY. That song gives me goosebumps every time
Sean’s from my neck of the woods, cool to see him getting some shout outs
No recommendations from me, I just wanted to say that this has become my favourite channel to watch. I love discovering incredible new music through these videos and I love how genuine and excited you seem when you hear something you love. Thanks for brightening my days.

I was going to recommend "Last Call" as well. Jake's songs are more like movies for blind people.
White Buffalo is an incredible artist and I truly enjoy your reactions…White Buffalo and “Come Join The Murder” is amazing and all his songs give me chills! I’m spending my morning binging your reactions 😂
I stumbled across The White Buffalo a few weeks back. It's been a good trip getting to know his music. Great story teller.
You like this one you should check out "Wish it was true" by White Buffalo too. He doesn't get real fancy with most of his guitar playing but as for a singer song writer he does an awesome job.
massive respect tbh that you didnt play and got caught up. sign of a true musician brother. its one of those rare songs that are already perfect.
That dude's voice reminds me of Eddie Vedder.(I hear Richie Havens in there too)this guy's got a set of pipes on him that sound great.
I've actually seen him sing Freedom/Motherless Child. It was absolutely incredible. I talked to him after the show about that an how much he reminds me of Havens, and he smirked, and told me that's his favorite compliment he gets. Jake is such a great dude.
That’s a perfect description!
Yes, except intelligible to other humans
I was hoping someone else had alrrady commented that.
You might want to check out the album Evening Train by Mick Flannery. Irish artist, western frontier story basically.

You made me appreciate this song even more! Thanks for your dissection!
White Buffalo is solid! I’m fortunate to have him as a local musician.

Such a good song! Saw him play it at Lagunitas 3 summers ago and will never forget it.
This song was the theme of Jax on SOA, basically the perfect murderer
This is the first time I’ve seen Michael sit through the whole song the first time through. He was just in awe
Damn ... what a picture he painted. Gave me chills and brought tears. What a cost war brings.

I Second the last call to heaven. I have Been suggesting that a few times.
Awesome... love white buffalo...
I feel like you would enjoy the lyricism in “Bob Fudge” by Colter Wall
Said it before, I’ll say it again. Love love love when musicians listen to words and interpret them. It’s always a little bit different, but real musicians can find the story beneath the words, instead of taking what’s given as the story itself.
Chilling song! Love the review!
Been waiting for a white buffalo video!!
I found this dude watching the Punisher season 1 end of episode 3. Thank you.
“Come Join The Murder” by them is pretty amazing too.
Hey man.. love your stuff.. I found you when I saw your reaction to Colter Wall.. The guitar is a physical manifestation of inner rage..
Everything The White Buffalo does is tremendous
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen it, but he did a lot of the songs for the Sons of Anarchy series.
Matt Andersen -Devils Bride/Ain't no sunshine. Devil's bride especially is the most raw powerful song I've heard in a while, his voice is incredible. Just him an acoustic and blues!
This song really cuts it to the bone. He pulls you in and you feel the pain and torture in his soul. It’s disturbing, and so raw
"Darling what have i done" is very good too !
This song was used in "The Punisher" on Netflix. Worked great in that setting for sure.
It was what season and episode
Wow, this was damn good! :O
I’d love to see a reaction to Benjamin Tod “War Inside of Me”.
You should really check out “ A heart of gold is hard to find” or “ long gone” by Benjamin Tod.
awesome. absolutely awesome
Be safe.

The white buffalo is awesome. He has a bunch of other good songs, would love to see him live
He really needs to do some Kaleo songs.
I think he has a version of House of the Rising Sun in the Sons of Anarchy series
Holy crap!! UA-cam algorithm 1 Chris 0. Learning this song now because I'm too embarrassed to sing so I whistle for practice. This guy is amazing!!! he totally combines his skills to make pure beauty.
Check out his garage series channel on youtube....when not performing hes a total goofball...get that guitar in his hands and hes an outlaw
They've used a couple of his tracks on The Punisher, but I always thought that they missed out by not using this one...but it had already been done on SOA.
Pleaaaaaasse more white Buffalo 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I think that was the same face I made when I heard this song for the first time about a year ago. He has quite a few other great songs, too.
You should check out "sometimes I cry" by Chris Stapleton if you have never heard it. A lot of blues influence which I know you love
100 times yes!!
Either way or I was wrong would be my choice
@@korbiniana.4740 Not a bad choice either
Please do more white Buffalo songs!! 🤩
