A classic French potato recipe with the addition of cheese.
Gratin Dauphinois is a classic French potato dish that you will find in many bistro restaurants in France. Traditionally there's no cheese and instead, knobs of butter are added to the top helping the potato starch mixed with the cream render that brown gratin look and flavour. So you can leave the cheese out if you're a purist, but I think it takes it up a notch. It's such luscious velvety potato dish making it irresistible and difficult not to go for seconds.

I made this today before I watched your video , it's one of my favorite recipes of all time , I make it every Ramadan. I usually add one small bottle of fresh cream it adds an amazing taste to the potatoes , also at the end I add bread crumbs with some butter on top for the crunch .

Thickened cream is just a British name for heavy cream.

Everything in moderation is fine, no one in my family has a heart condition or cholesterol. Remember that sugar is the bad guy, not healthy fats. :)
