"Exercise does help improve the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and so that's something that as a Parkinson's neurologist I see all the time when my patients start exercising, or in my patients who are exercising, that they tend to function better. They have improvements in their balance, improvements in sleep and mood and energy level."

"A number of research studies have been performed nationally and internationally which show that exercise improves Parkinson's Disease symptoms. What isn't known yet is what is the best form of exercise for people with Parkinson's Disease. Our sense is that Rock Steady is an extremely good exercise because it combines such a diverse group of forms of exercise and because it's so varied. Every day is a different type of routine, and so people don't get tired of it, or bored."

"It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. It's my family. It's my second family. I don't know what I would do without it. Because your old friends that you had before, they tend not to call you as much or want to do things with you. But these people are always there for you. No matter what happens. If one of our people gets in trouble, we'll be there to get them out or whatever. If they get sick, we're there for them. It's just totally awesome."

" We had one gentleman, came in a wheelchair, and that very same day, he walked out pushing the wheelchair. And it was just totally awesome because he seen all the people and what they could do, and he was determined that he was going to do it, too. So just things like that and that you see. It's like a miracle in one day."

"I have often compared my fellow brothers and sisters at Rock Steady to the rag tag army of Henry V, where Shakespeare quotes the king as saying "He who bleeds with me this day on the field of battle is my brother " and I look at all these people here as my brothers and sisters fighting against a terrible and relentless foe who may eventually claim our bodies, but we will never surrender our souls. We will keep on fighting."
