I find this conversation fascinating, as a neuroscientist and a Catholic. What is unclear from this conversation and the previous episode is whether there is hope of recovering brain function and of so, how much? Is this discussion happening in the context that some percent of 'brain dead' people can recover?
Thank you. You may interested in a prior conversations with Alan Shewmon in which we touch on some of these questions, eg. the concept of "global ischemic penumbra" and how it is distinguished from brain death. See, eg., accadandkoka.com/episode35/
As a scientist as well as a Christian this is a very interesting topic. Actually, one that I’m not super interested in. However, this was a great conversation. We have to win the pagan over to our side. Ha ha great video
It’s so sad to see such a great channel having so few views and subscribers. Any fans please spread the word, these are interesting discussions
