Spearfishing NY. Easter 2023, first dive. April 09.

too many months away from the ocean. on Easter it was sunny but chilly in New York.
Driving to the ocean, a tire instantly, completely deflated. It was literally across the street from a flat-fix shop. In 15 minutes for 20 dollars the guy fixed the tire and scraped the wheel.
I made it in time to have 90 minutes before low tide.
I was concerned about the chill and the wind. That cold water would seep my wetsuit to my lower back.
But once in, everything was fine. It felt great after a long winter.
The face felt really cold at first, but I knew it was only momentary.
The air and water were at the same temperatures. 9C/48F, but the wind made the water feel warmer.
The wind blowing opposite to the outgoing tide mixed a lot of sediment, so the water was not that clear at the bottom.
I saw almost no fish. It has to get a little warmer for fish to get back here.
This was a test drive. the weights, the rigging, getting used to it again.
