It's like she "frames" all of these strange changes in time signature to where they actual made sense. Not sure how to describe it except that she outlines the important parts of the beat so it helps you navigate all of the changing time signatures.
I love seeing great musicians like this so deep into their music, occationally coming up to the surface to exchange glances and a smile. So much information is exchanged through a look and a smile, it's amazing to observe. The transition from that delicious bass solo over to the almost NES-style keyboard piece at 03:16 was incredible!
Everytime I hear this I immediately go on a quest to spleunk and dungeon crawl my way through an epic journey! Well done. Seriously love this tune. -from one music fan to another
Just had the vinyl record for Adventures shipped to my house in Ohio and it has been played constantly for the past week. Wow, what a legendary group of songs. I have the bass turned up, really thumping. The bass lines are fantastic. I would never be able to pick a favorite anything on this album, but I love when the keys take off on Overnight. I also love the vocals on Mr sunshine. Bass line on the B section on Thirty One, also when the bass doubles the technical lines on several songs, everything about Lydia's Dream especially the chord hits that bloom and flower in the B section. just everything. Thanks for crafting this music for the world to hear!
You've made an instant super fan out of me after only 15 measures! You guys and gals are extraordinarily talented musicians! Thanks for bringing joy to my life!
Your songs send a chill down my spine. Haven't had that before while watching a video on UA-cam or listening to a concert. Amazing! Would love to listen to you live!
Fresh sound, incredibly tight and full of awesome technique from all players. I would like for Sophie to share what cymbals she is using...Spot on for this collaboration...Please keep this coming!
Thanks for the kind words, Ricky. My cymbal set up varies but for this video I used: 14" Zildjian A Custom Projection hi-hats, 18" Paiste 2002 crash, 16" Zildjian K Custom Session crash and a 20" Zildjian K Constantinople ride. I hope you enjoy the rest of our videos!
I can simply not believe why you guys aren't more famous than you are. Just after hearing 3 tracks of yours, this one, Loops and Thirty One, i can't say anything else than i'm blown back! You have SICK rhythm!
I'm back for another fix of Lydian Collective, to help me through this pandemic. So far I think LC are at least part of the vaccine. Thank you very much
For all musicians listening to this and being like 'hey I wanna do that too', check their website. They sell proffesional sheet music for just a few bucks for every instrument. Bulk bonus if you buy the parts for all the songs on the album for one instrument (7 pounds is a steal).
Hey - the band is called Lydian Collective but we are playing both Laszlo (aka Aaron, the keys player) and Musicbox material (Aka Todd and Aaron collaboratively) We just gave the band it's own identity as the compositions can explore quite a different direction as live arrangements - and I'm sure we'll be writing and releasing new LC specific material soon :)
Why does this sound so familiar? I swear it has to sound like something I've heard before, but I can't figure it out. Mainly the "dootdootdoot doo, dootdootdoot doodoo" part.
No it Doesn't it smooth jazz/ Blues it does soft music even she bang the Hihat hard than the Drums why she got Inner Rhythtm Man U all need to Wake up even I knew about Thus Right Now
Gee the drummer is so smooth every time she hits that symbol it's like drinking ice cold lemonade on a hot sunny day
They all have great tempo
wow the drummer makes the lightest but most effective touches. That high hat usage at the intro!
She makes me jealous of her playing, she's not playing hard and she has so much finesse
Philip Snyder yeah that's the best part. She knows the meaning of less is more.

Is the name of this band Laszlo or Music Box? A few videos called them Laszlo and others call them Music Box.....can you please clarify for me?
