Please enjoy.
There is just something organic and natural about the sound of a P90. Could listen to it all day,.
It's certainly true, since you're not the only one who says that. I think that's probably one of the main reasons why I'm more and more interested in P90s... even to the point of seriously considering buying myself a Double agent... not talking of the fact that I've been hearing that Reverend has their P90s prepared so that they rank a tiny wee bit above average P90s on the planet...
Getting Mick and Pete in to do these demos was one of the best moves Andertons could have made. Aside from the fact that they are great players and show the gear in a nuanced and intelligent style, they obviously dig on each others' playing; it embodies the vibe of jamming with a friend and gives the videos a great atmosphere. Well done as always, gentlemen.
Love Reverend guitars. They are retro-futuristic like no other and beautiful
Nuno Carmona that's a great description - perfect!
I've been playing for 50 years on Gibsons and Fenders but discovered the Reverend Kingbolt about 2 months ago. Unbelievably a great guitar all around. It is undoubtedly my "go-to" axe now.
I'd say the same as you, I have purchased a splendid alpine green Warhawk with Revtrons pickups (update of Gretsch's Filtertrons) recently, and there is no day that I don't play her. And when I don't play her, she queens on her stand in the middle of the room. I LOVE her.
50 years guitar! MAn thats something. I assume its 54 now! cheers
I am also looking to get a reverend six gun hpp or the double agent. I am not able to find any detailed reviews in 2021 for these two guitars. Would you happen to have any experience with these?
I think that's the best intro jam I've seen on one of these types of videos. Incredible job guys!
The jam at the end was jaw dropping. These two never cease to amaze me.
mick and pete for life at andertons .. pls captain make it official so that I can die in peace
Love the Mick & Pete appreciation society that they have for each other... They are always trying to impress the other. Great Guits... Love the shapes and that bass roll off which makes it so useable
Cheers Guys
That outro jam was great! It's always cool seeing when you guys are inspired by the gear you're trying out.
Reverends are the best! Got my first one 6 years ago, ended up playing it more than my pricey Custom Shop guitars (by you know who.) Now I own 3 Revs with more to come.
How do they compare to G&L?
I just love anything these guys put up. Always knowledgeable, entertaining and damn it, they get me to part with my money. Thanks guys you just make life so much better, gawd bless ya!
and I've been waiting for this moment for all my life
oh lord
What?
this is probably my favourite guitar demo ever and I'm pretty sure I'm gunna get the buckshot because of it, those sounds were unreal
i think this is my new fave guitar paradiso video, this guitars are something else, fantastic playing as always guys
Subscribed solely due to the intro jam - really made my day!
Wow! Those jams to end were fantastic!
watched this video so many times, the sounds that come from those guitars are unreal - especially the buckshot.
Love Reverend guitars, especially as i'm left handed which their very good at catering to...awesome playing, as always.
f*cking great playing again lads and the guitars sounding top notch!
Been waiting for the Reverend rundown! They sound great.
The bass contour knob is a handy feature. Overall, these guitars seem pretty high quality. Thank you for the demo.
I like how the gaze deeply into each others eyes during the jam.
I've played Reverends for years. They're fantastic guitars at an unbelievable price. They're not just great for the price, they're great guitars.
Cool looking guitars, they definetely make me consider getting one!
Love that doubled look of recognition at 23:32. "Hey! This thing does something different!"
Yes ! I saw the same as you ! And we share the surprise with them... delicious !
I don't know much about guitars but these seem to have taken all the right influences and still look very original. Like the style.
Looking fresh, Pete!
That outro jam is some of the coolest tones you will hear anywhere! I'd like the blue one with 2 P90s in it!
I actually had a chance to try out the Tricky Gomez in Andertons the day the bass video came out (I think). I hadn't seen these guitars in person before and didn't know much about them, so I gave it a go and fell in love. That bass roll-off, even though I didn't know what it was when I played it, was the best thing I'd ever used, and IMO works best when you want a bit of sparkly clarity from your beefy crunch/distortion sound.
In terms of feel, these are absolutely as good as these guys say they are. Fantastic instruments
You know you have an interesting guitar when the guy who's been playing for almost 30 years blurts out, "Whoah!, Hello! What was that then?" (at around 23:35) These guitars really do seem to have their own very distinctive characters - in a good way.
Pete... the closing jam - again, shades of Greg Koch and Eric Gales from NAMM... love it!
Anyone watching this video thinking of getting a reverend, just do it. I have a 2018 buckshot with roasted maple neck and it is amazing. Sounds good and plays great. And these guys are awesome! Great video!
I had been curious about Reverend guitars for a long time. A local music store started carrying them recently. I got to try out many models. All of them were great! My favorite one, believe it or not, was sparkly pink with p90's and a bigsby style trem. Best guitar of it's kind I've had the chance to play.
Great vid guys , excellent playing as usual and super informative, just bought my first Rev ....well worth the money . Got HB charger ....great range of tones and an awesome non glossy neck . Very playable .
Brilliant loved the jam at the end look forward to your next review and I would love you to throw in a lick of the week type of thing
Great vid guys. I loved that sound at 25.44 I had the same face as Pete. Want one.
I have both a Reverend Charger 290 & Flatroc. These guitars are quite well made and play & sound killer...seriously one of the best values out there.
Really miss Mick on Andertons videos. Just wish he'd come back and do a couple of Guitar Paradiso videos with Pete this year. Best duo on UA-cam for me.
Great Guitars! Especially the blue one looks really amazing and they seem very versatile.. And they are kind of different in a cool way, maybe gonna buy one!
Dang you boys can play! Great review.
Nice to see Reverend getting some Andertons love!
That special H pickup is the best pickup ever made. Every single one of my guitar have them. It's the first thing I do when I buy a new guitar. Output similar to a Super Distortion, but also as clear and pronounced as a Strat.
You have to do Guitar lessons pleeeaaaassse!!! I love the playing of you both so much, best prasentations on youtube!
Great video guys! You really should do Reverend Guitars Part 2 video, I'd really like to hear baritones and some others models they offer.
I 2nd those Baritone models, I think they're awesome. Whole Reverend brand would deserve more recognition tbh.
I totally agree! Reverend have more than enough models, plus Mick & Pete KILLED in this one. Very enjoyable guys, best series on the Anderton's channel.
+brian taylor I couldn' t agree more! These two are brilliant, every video they put out is a must watch for me.
I agree, let's see the twelve strings too :)
The Airsonic is quite something with the hypervintage pickups. Sounds from electrified acoustic-like semi hollow to roaring gritty full body tones.
I play on mine sometimes as often as I can, paired with a Laney Supercub or a Blackstar HT5. She is my queen guitar.
SO GLAD!!! They just discovered the guitar paradiso guitar hahaha. So amazing guitars! I have 2 and counting. A beautiful Double Agent OG and a Charger 290 LE, want a Six Gun III. They are AMAZING!!!!! I see the captaing getting an Anderstons special exclusive issue on one of the models (they do that a lot with other retailers in the USA) LOVE THEM!! Now Reverend going places with this people and their marketing power talking about them! Go REVEREND!!
oh man that bass knob is actually really cool!
That Double Agent III sounds like HEAVEN at the end (minus the seagulls ;-). Now I just have to figure out which guitar I am going to sell and replace with one of these.
I own a Reverend Double Agent and its so perfect.
Mick and Pete are the best...and those guitars are awesome
Pete! That haircut looks awesome
HI GUYS i have always been a fan of this brand i normally have a issue with head stocks [anything that's not fender shaped] but i really like the head stock design on these guitars and have always loved the shape of the double agent [which i think looks more than a bit like a stretched out jazz master body shape wise] and i really like billy corgans sign model to.
It does sort of have a Jetson look to it. They are very high quality instruments. Very nice fit, finish and sound.
played a double humbucker solid body Reverend in a hardcore band for a couple years and it was great. Friend picked up a second hand les paul styled p90 loaded Reverend recently which is awesome, sustain for days! Can't beat them at that price point id suggest, and i wouldn't be totally upset if i had to trade my USA model Fenders and Gibsons for a couple Reverends.
These guys are underselling these guitars. Unbeatable, especially at their price point
Great demo, shows the versatility
About time we had some more Anderton's Rev-love.
How about taking a closer look at the Club King 290, Volcano RA, Warhawk RT and Descent HC90?
Been looking forward to Andertons show casing the Reverend range...
Great review guys,However you didn't show the best model The Sensei RA FM
A beast of a Rock machine... Maybe next time..
love that maple necked one!! killer bite yet still full and round sounding. but is it just me, or does the body look really small ?
YOU HAVE A GRISTLE KING!!! I'm an old friend of Tim who designs and builds them. Small world. Be sure to try his Kollmanation pedal which is absolutely epic.
Reverend Guitars go pretty well with Paradiso's Shirts
Great video as usual. I come hear for the playing... Leave wondering if I can justify buying a new guitar...
Been eyeing a buckshot recently. Great jams as always.
The Buckshot's bridge pup! It's almost the first time ive heard a bridge pickup, even a single coil, that i preferred over a neck. Usually bridge is too bright for my liking, especially with s/c's. But this... i was noodling on my phone, half-listening to the video. I looked up and thought "hey, what's this tone?" just before Dansken cried "maaaaaan, that's good!"
These Reverends sell themselves.
I have the exact one on the right (Double Agent W Chronic Blue) - Best guitar I've ever owned. Number one for gigs.
I played a reverend the other day and damn was it good!
I don't even watch Andertons for the guitars anymore. I watch for the humour. The guitars are just a bonus. It's like the Top Gear of the guitar world
That sliding trill you did at about 1:10 was awesomely tasty, Pete.
I love my Double Agent OG! Best guitar I've owned.
I have seen forums where people have said they hate the Reverend Buckshots bridge pickup. I do not know why, but I love it, it is so hot and twangy at the same time.
Nice cut Pete!
Damn that sheriff sound so good, what an amp
I was hoping to see a Sensei Jr because I am thinking of a single P90 guitar...Mick's Collings is bit outta the price range. Any chance we can see the Sensei Jr in the future?
I've played one once. Very cool guitar. With the contour on it your not just getting a one trick pony that you would think of when you talk about a single P-90. Add the tone control and you got a lot of sounds coming from one pickup.
I've been looking at Fret King of late. Is the bass roll off a bit like the coil tap pot they have. Im definitely going to look at Reverend.
I'm hoping you'll get the PA-1 RT - a full hollow body guitar with Filtertron style pickups and a Bigsby - into the store and do a demo in the near future.
Hey, don't know who did the video or editing but I really liked the close-ups! One or two of Pete might have been a bit too close but most were really pretty cool! Good job!
Mick's face at 24:30 made me trade my strat for a buckshot. Thanks fellas.
I've been interested in Reverend guitars for a while now. Mainly because of the Double agent and Bayonet lines, hard to find a guitar with a P90 neck and humbucker bridge. And then there is the bass contour pot.
But now they have a Billy Corgan signature model too. Hopefully they'll still be making them in a years time when I'll be able to afford a new guitar!
I' m curious about the Billy Corgan signature, too. Let's hope they review it, soon. They sell it at Andertons. I wanna see a Reverend Guitars part 2. I wanna see the 12 string electric, they make, too.
Also, awesome review Pete and Mick. You guys are my favorite guitar show. That, and "That Pedal Show".
I've come back to listen to the outro 7 times
Mick getting some Jeff Beck tones at the end
Any chance you guys are gonna be checking out the new Fender Tele LE in Surf Green & Mint?
Its an all rosewood neck, and probably the most gorgeous guitar I've ever laid my eyes on.
Can you two please record a mick and Pete album with just you two jamming please!
I do like the looks of the "Unknown Hinson" signature model and the Club King that it was based on.
@0:07 - 0:11 Am I hearing fret buzzing?? LOVED the slow jam at the end.
Buckshot, for me. Great playing chaps, as always......
I love the headstock
Yeeah I would like to have an orange one too, Pete. Would match my amp. :)
It should be possible to like this video more than once!
Their baritone one is really cool too
Their pickups and configurations are similar to G&L: ceramic pickups, mixed pickup types, PTB tone controls. Does Andertons carry G&L and are there any demos that you've done?
I would love to see a shootout between the G&L Doheny and a Reverend P90 model. I have three Revs already and seriously considering a Flatroc and a Charger 290. I have a Charger HC prototype with a chunky neck and I'll NEVER sell it.
Solid review guys, love your guy's playing. Not like all the other old farts who play the same generic blue scales. Love how much fun you guys have with it
They are great guitars, I own three. But... They often need a little extra attention once brought home. The set up will most likely need some attention, a fret level, a crown and polish. I've had to do it to my Buckshot, my Club King and my Unknown Hinson. They are quality but my necks have always needed a little attention.
similar to reverend's bass roll-off, g&l (leo's last company and final word on his s and t guitars) has, and had, a ptb tone circuit (passive treble bass) that can cut either. wonder if naylor took notice. sadly, it seems that most of the reverend semis are solid wood and not laminate - so not much woody airy tone.
can someone tell me some guitarist or band that sound like the intro jam thing?
oooh 2 leftys - amazing
Its great to see two guitar players who can actually play something other than shredding. I saw these guitars on Rob Chapmans channel and found the playing as fast as he possibly can boring. How can anyone make a decision based on one demonstrators constant shredding.
Very interesting... The final jam was some of your best work yet! Will you be demoing the rest of the range?
it was good, wasn't it?
I own a Rev Double Agent OG and love it. However, I would advise anyone going to buy one to change the strings. The strings that come with it hold it back. My mate also has one and it was the same on his. Once the strings are changed they feel incredible. Possibly the best, most versatile guitar I've played especially at the price point. Tele/SG/Gretsch all in one.
does Pete have his own channel? I could listen to him jam all day!
Yeah he does, look up Pete honore
***** thanks!
Can you guys demo the Reverend Six Gun 3 and their baritone model as well?? Why ignore them?
