Nice demo! I have a Charger HB and want to get another Reverend with a P90 or two! Using fuzz with the bass contour is one of the coolest things to do with it. I really like the full bass sound.
Great demo Will. This was exactly what I was looking for to better understand the capabilities of this guitar. Thanks for taking the time to show the guitar and not just your outstanding playing abilities. Subbed and shopping for an OG!!
Got my DA OG lefty today....among the best guitars I've owned since 2010 out of about 35 I've purchased...G, F, Epi, D'Angel, Heritage, PRS, B&G, G&L, FGN, Edwards, ESP, Eastman, Rivolta,..... Love everything about it...tone, weight, playability, sustain, contour, color/binding...superb quality. Git some....
Hey thank you for taking the time to say that! It’s very kind of you. We work hard to make these videos so it’s nice to know they are appreciated! Rock On!
Ran across your review! Excellent video! I have 3 Reverends and each one serves it's own purpose. I play a bunch of Hill Country Blues and my DA is perfect.
Thank you Will for the demo. I bought one of these (medieval red) recently and really enjoy it, I run a few more effects and don't really care for fuzz much so I run a classic OD with some delay, hall and chorus, works real nice for worship. My only negative would be that standing, sometimes the fret board and ergonomics feel a bit awkward but maybe it just takes time to get use to.
Hey Matt! Thanks for the comment and congrats on the news guitar. That sounds like a good signal chain for what you’re doing- and the Rev definitely is a great guitar for that. A couple players at my church use them. Interesting about the feel/playability- what guitar were you playing previously? Anyway, thanks again!
Great review and demo (and channel btw). I have one of these and just love it. Reverends are few in the UK and the mention of them still generates a rather blank look. I have replaced the bridge PAF with a Seymour Duncan P-rails on mine which makes it even more versatile. You get the twin P90s of course but the rail coil mixed with the neck sounds fantastic, much more stratty, and then there's the full high output bridge humbucker... You didn't mention how comfortable the body contours are, nor how light korina is! Anyway highly recommended to anyone interested in something a bit different.
Thanks so much Paul! Appreciate the kind words for sure. Yes the body is sooooooper comfy to play for sure! I’ve done so many of these videos I forget to say that anymore- thanks for the reminder that it’s an important part! Your guitar sounds pretty awesome! Stay in touch! Cheers!
Dig some reverends- depending on the style they are a great choice for touring musicians. Tons of value for the price- never feels like you’re just paying for the name. Have you seen our fender VS Reverend tele comparison???
I'm torn between a Pro II HSS Strat in Dark Night or this Reverend, to add to my "guitarsenal" (thanks for that). Your opinion would be quite helpful. New sub and will check out your web site.
Will: What Reverend would you recommend if I'm trying to capture palette of sounds from stuff like Echo & Bunnymen, REM, Cocteau Twins? Can the Double Agent W do chimey, quack/twang sounds? I've looked at Trickshot and Buckshot, but I like the DA's Wilkinson term. Thank you.
If you want quack, I’d go with some revtrons or the retroblast pickup. We have a contender rb in stock right now that is a beaut! Can do chimey too with the right amp. The trickshot would certainly hit some twang for you. All good options- if you’re close by you should come visit and test drive a few!
I like the vibe of these guitars but does it feel ok? The body shape seems awkward. By the way, do you have a demo of the OG version of this? Considering that and maybe the charger HB.
So, coming as someone that primarily plays offset body shapes (my main guitar is a MIM Jaguar), it's incredibly comfortable to play the Double Agent W. The neck is so smooth on it that it compensates for any adjustment you might need to make on the body shape. Here's an old demo we did of the OG Double Agent! ua-cam.com/video/gHi0kzja7jM/v-deo.html I'm partial to the Warhawk, but they're all pretty stunning guitars :)
@@MasonMusicRocks it’s been a couple months but I ended up buying a Buckshot. Very nice guitars. I don’t know how this brand flies under the radar like this. If fender sold these guitars they would be double the money.
@@karmatologist So glad to hear you got it! We agree - I don't think they'll be under the radar for much longer now that they're available on Sweetwater/larger box sites.
For versatility this thing will do the job of two guitars. You’ve got a p90 and a paf pickup so right there a ton of versatility. Plus the bass roll off knob gives you a lot more range of tones too. And with a Reverend you’ll be a little more original and unique than a Les Paul.
Definitely the Jetstream - the retroblast pickups are for sure more spanky. But if you want straight fender sounds, you need to check out the trickshot (tele vibes) or the six gun (strat vibes). Anything with a 't-style' pickup in it. The Double Agent is going to be a bit more on the Gibson side of the equation.
I have a Jetstream RB (among other Reverends) and the bridge PU sounds VERY tele-like with the BC rolled off a bit while the middle position comes suprisingly close to the 2nd position on a Strat. The only thing it can't do is a warm neck PU or 4th position Strat sound. The RBs are just too chimey/gretschy for that.
Absolutely pulling the trigger on this one without any second thought. Great job with the high quality demo.
Man you need to get back to doing demos like these. Also Reverend needs to do another run of double agents w's in red.
You had me at P90 and Yellow Ledbetter. :-D
It’s the right thing to do…

Scott - thank you so much for the kind words! Happy to have you here in our little community on this corner of the internet :)
It's cool to hear some decent riffs and not the typical pentatonic wankery.
Well thank you good sir! I do my best to get some good riffage in each demo!
Or mindless sweeping and “chugging”.

Well that is high praise coming from Socrates! Thanks a ton! We’re always working to get better. Any gear you’d like to see demo’ed in the future?
Pretty cool finding a great demo for a guitar I'm looking at that was filmed right down the road from me. Cheers from Cullman.

I live in Hanceville. Got three Reverends. :)
I love mine. Plays so smooth.
Great Demo!

@@MasonMusicRocks I have a trickshot, DA w and a Reeves Gabrels. I enjoy playing these guitars.
Really nice, in depth review. Is looking at the ice green color but this medieval red is pretty stunning.
I'm obsessed with that color. Also love the Mulberry Mist finish!

I have the anniversary model. Great guitar and a lot of bang for buck. Although not my most expensive guitar I think it may be the nicest all around.

The contender has a bigsby, but none of the ones I mentioned have that Wilkinson trem.
I've been thinking, about a "double agent". Nobody around here sells it. I'd have to mail order.. or such..
We are a Reverend dealer! While we may not have many on hand at at time we can always order anything current from Reverend!
What is that tasty opening riff? I know it or something like it but can't place it.

Reverend vs Fender Jaguar?
Ahhhhhh! Tough one. Both are killer guitars. Love this double agent, but definitely a different flavor than a fender jag. Hard to say!
