    Love the 5 tires rotation... Specially since we lift one tire at the time... The torque spec site is great as well...

      Hey Luis, Glad you like it. It's simple enough to do, and while I'm at it, I can check on the condition of the brakes too. Cheers.

    Being that I’m getting older and lazy and out of shape, I use a tire dolly to mount the tire on the lugs. These dollies often go on sale at Canadian Tire. They can accommodate a tread width of 12 inches and the tire sits on rotating cylinders so you can spin them so that the holes in the rim align with the mounting studs. And you can ratchet the tire up and down with a lever on the dolly to perfectly align the 5 wheel holes with the 5 mounting studs. After fighting with heavy 35 inch tires, these dollies make tire rotations a snap. And, they save my back from aches. Best 125 bucks I ever spent...and you get two of them in the package.

      Holy! Amazing tip! Especially for those Jeepers with the larger tires. I’ll definitely check it out. This tip will have to be featured in an upcoming h episode for sure! Thank you. Cheers.

      CT puts these on sale frequently. I picked a set up here in Edmonton for $125 about 2 months ago. Your back will love you when rotating tires.

    Great video. Do you have a link for the jack stands. How do you like that Jack?

      I had those jack stands for a while. I don't remember where I got them. They are 3 ton jack stands. I like my floor Jack.
      It's good gear, so I'm comfortable lifting the Jeep with it.
      Cheers.

      Yes. The winter tires were used to demonstrate the directional tire rotation technique, and my summer tires, which are on different rims, were used to demonstrate the five tire rotation.

    I think it’s safer to put weight on that rear jack stand while leaving the jack in place. This way you have actual weight on three points.

    Very informative video. Do you need to reset TPMS after tire rotation?

    Thanks for the great video. My Jeep dealer here in Italy told me that 5 tire rotation should not be done since the diffs may get damaged. All my 5 tires are almost new (4000 KM) so no big difference between spare and the other tires. I wasn't able to find any official Jeep statement for or against a 5 tire rotation. Is Jeep officially against 5 tire rotation and can the diffs really get damaged? What do you think?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  2 роки тому +1

      Hi TM71,
      My opinion is solely based on what I have learned online, but I believe that if you are starting from new, and rotate every 8,000 kms, there shouldn't be any significant difference between the tires to be noticed by the differentials. Imagine if you do what your dealer is suggesting, and you have lots of wear on the current four tires, then when you get a flat, you would THEN be installing the spare with "like new" tread amount, and then be driving on it! Your differentials might notice THAT difference more. Just my opinion, plus you could find other videos online supporting what I am saying.
      Thank you for the feedback on the video. There is a whole maintenance playlist you may like as well. Feel free to share.
      Ciao 🤌🏻

    This is my first jeep and I had never considered the 5 tire rotation before because I have never done it on any of my vehicles but for a jeep I can see the value in it now especially since it comes with a matching apare. My question for you is that now that my jeep has a little over 23,000 miles on it is it too late to start doing the 5 tire rotation because of the possible wear difference between the brand new spare and the rest of the tires?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  2 роки тому

      Hi Geoff, I’d get a cheap depth gauge and measure the worn tires to see what the difference would be between the spare and the worn tires. I’d also post the measurements on a Jeep Wrangler forum to get others opinions based on the numbers. I’d venture to guess if the difference wasn’t too bad that you could start doing the 5 Tire rotation. Cheers.

    how long is too long to wait to rotate tires?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  6 місяців тому

      I don’t know enough to answer that with any authority. I suggest posing that question in a Jeep forum where there are many others who would certainly have an educated guess. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    I just had a thought, now that you changed the location of the tires how about the TPMS. It will now be set to the wrong tires on the dash. Did you somehow reset the TPMS? I ask this because when I air down my tires the wrong side is registered on the dash. I drop the pressure in the right tire and on the dash the left tire is showing as being aired down.

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  2 роки тому

      Hey Larryr,
      The TPMS sensor readings on your dash represent the tire pressures on each of the four corners of the Jeep correspondingly. After you rotate your tires, take the Jeep for a drive and the TPMS system will adjust/recalibrate accordingly. I wish I mentioned that in the video now. ☺️ Cheers.
