I remember when this was played on MTV almost every morning during 2006 (having a top comment on a weezer video is the greatest accomplishment of my time here on the internet, thank you ❤)
Yeah Make Believe was actually their first album, then they kicked out Scott for the blue album and replace him with Matt then kicked Matt for Mikey, then kicked out Mikey for Scott. They also had to kick Bryan off after this album but then brought him back a couple days later to make the blue album.
I think Rivers said it best " tell me there's some hope for me, I don't wanna be lonely, for the rest of my days on earth." I felt that on a different level 😔
In many ways, this is one of Weezer's best songs. Something about the guitar triggers feelings of loneliness. Even if there were no vocals you'd still know what the song was about
0:59 I know I'm not the only one who noticed that Van Halen reference. Story goes that Van Halen in the roth years had a "M&M Contract" requiring all brown m&ms to be left out. This rule went along with several other rules regarding stage lighting positions, etc. But needless to say, if they found a brown m&m the band knew the show vendors never read their contract and decided to trash the backstage.
I was at a concert in St. Augustine. They were throwing frisbees in the crowd for some reason. During this song, a frisbee went right towards the drummer. He caught it, put it in his teeth, and continued playing. Most epic this I've ever seen.
"Though I can't satisfy all the needs she has and so she starts to wonder, can you blame her". "Tell me there's a logic out there, leading me to better prepare, for the day that something really special might come". These lines are so amazing, they are the reasons why I love this song, they give me hope that I'm not the only one that faced to the same problem as Perfect Situation
The way I interpret this song is that at the beginning it's hard to tell who's show it is as they were both on the mic. Then it's clear that it's her show and that he's the one chasing her, feeling worried about not being enough for her. It's when she locks her self away that he takes it into his own hands to become the star of the show and that's when he's finally enough for her, as she comes out from being locked away to go to him. However, she's jealous that the band and crowd are satisfied with him over her. You're better than you think, a good heart goes a long way, don't let others suppress your potential.
White Fresh prince Those albums are great, as with most of weezer’s music, but this song is just fantastic especially with the video. I wish they would’ve kept the original chorus instead of making it “pop-y”. Red, blue, and green are pretty solid albums.

About 10 years ago, I saw this video on MTV, in the morning while I was getting ready to school, I liked the song from that moment, years later I couldn’t remember the name of the song, only that was from Weezer, then I googled “Weezer music video with The girl next door actress”
I remember being 5 or 6 when I saw this video on MTV. I used to watch MTV (Remember that show, 'Next'?) with my sister (which is odd, as I now despise MTV.) And I saw this and thought it was a legitimate documentary. 9 years later, I finally found it.
The 90's aesthetic is so nuanced it's easy to overlook and see this as a real time modern day video. But if you look closely at the small details of the settings you realize the genius of the video. It's the mid to late 90's and they have perfectly recreated that moment in time. Not the "weeze to Weezer" moment but the window into that Era. (Gen -X represent!)

I remember seeing this on MTV in what? 2006? Anyways, I thought it was the coolest song ever and I've liked Weezer ever since. Funny how that works isn't it?
My first Weezer song was seeing Buddy Holly on the Windows 95 install CD, then forgot about it for a long time... then 10 years later, Make Believe came out and got me deep in!
Ha! My first Weezer experience was also Buddy Holly from the Windows 95 install disc. Loved them ever since. I also remember listening to Pinkerton for the first time and not liking it at all, but the more and more that I listened to it, it soon became my favorite - which it still is. Thanks, Microsoft, lol.
mines was beverely hills i know right so common =.=
Good luck finding a cool band on MTV now.
I just love the descending notes as he sings, so satisfying...
One of my favorites still listening
What's the deal with my brain?
Why am I so obviously insane?
In a perfect situation
I let love down the drain
There's the pitch, slow and straight
All I have to do is swing
And I'm the hero
But I'm the zero
Hungry nights, once again
Now it's getting unbelievable
'Cause I could not have it better
But I just can't get no play
From the girls, all around
As they search the night for someone to hold onto
I just pass through
Singing
Oh ho, oh ho, oh ho whoa
Singing
Oh ho, oh ho, oh ho whoa
Get your hands off the girl
Can't you see that she belongs to me?
And I don't appreciate this excess company
Though I can't satisfy all the needs she has
And so she starts to wander
Can you blame her?
Singing
Oh ho, oh ho, oh ho whoa
Singing
Oh ho, oh ho, oh ho whoa
Tell me there's a logic out there
Leading me to better prepare
For the day that something really special might come
Tell me there's some hope for me
I don't wanna be lonely
For the rest of my days on the earth, oh
Oh ho, ho ho, oh ho whoa
Singing
Oh ho, oh ho, oh ho whoa
Singing
Oh ho, whoa oh
Whoa oh oh, whoa, whoa oh
Whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh
(Perfect situation)
Whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh
Whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh
(Perfect situation)
Whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh
Whoa oh oh
Perfect situation
it's literally CC'd in the video
Weezer is perfect, and I've been obsessed with Rivers Cuomo's voice for years. Idk why. His voice is gifted. ♥
It has been so long since I last heard this song and i still remember all the lyrics. Takes me back. Nostalgia.
This is the best Weezer song and best Weezer music video. It single-handedly made me a life-long Weezer fan. I remember watching this music video (low res and pixelated) online over and over on America Online. (This video came out before UA-cam or online video really took off)
Back in 2005 or 2006 or so, I remember seeing this music video. And now, this year, I finally found it, a decade later. :)
stuck in my head since the first time i heard it
1alvin1990 since 2007 in my case.
The Beautiful Canadian Elisha Cuthbert in this, she was in demand making movies having her show and being in a Weezer Video in that era.Amazing some stars have that
I basically grew up in the hospital and i remember just listening to weezer all day everyday and they helped me get through it

this is my favorite weezer song & music video
I used to love Weezer, and my ceramics teacher has a Playlist with some of the least popular songs I had grown to love at a time, had too find this song again lmao
This is an excellent song from a decent album. nuff said
What album was this from?
Alex Spofford make believe
About 10 years ago, I saw this video on MTV, in the morning while I was getting ready to school, I liked the song from that moment, years later I couldn’t remember the name of the song, only that was from Weezer, then I googled “Weezer music video with The girl next door actress”
gosh, this jam is my all-time high school anthem!
I remember being 5 or 6 when I saw this video on MTV. I used to watch MTV (Remember that show, 'Next'?) with my sister (which is odd, as I now despise MTV.) And I saw this and thought it was a legitimate documentary. 9 years later, I finally found it.
JRC99 LMAO you watched Next st age 6? 😂😂
Possibly their most underrated song ever.
I remember watching this exact music video when I was around seven. It was my first ever weezer song ❤
I'l never truely understand what this amazing song is about but hey- it's still epic.
so many years have passed and I can not stop listening to this song
I woke up randomly with this song stuck in my head. Hadn’t listened to it in a long time.
Truly one of the weeze songs ever
Be blasting this playing wow on my Dell in 2007. Life is short.
These guys need to come back!
They have new album coming out lol...
Rivers puts the R in Weezer!
my favorite song !!!
Spotify me recordó esta canción que tenía años sin escuchar. Solía ver mil veces el video cuando era adolescente. ME ENCANTA
I never get tired of this song.
This one is one of the epic melodious song to date. the Beats , rhythm , music, river's voice . I love everything about this song 💚💙🤘
... the beats,* rhythm,* music,* River's voice.* ...
why did I cry while watching this
make believe may be one of their less good albums, but you gotta admit, this song is one of their best singles!
