How to get SHINY Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

- In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet one of the rarest Pokémon in the game will be shiny Ditto. No breeding, no gimmicks, just overworld wild spawns with a twist; shiny Ditto will disguise itself as a non-shiny Pokémon in the overworld.

At the top right it says "footage captured with cheat code"
It took me a while to realize but they probably have a modded switch and made it so only shiny Pokemon generate.

Thanks for the video, I've been trying to find shiny zorua and ditto, and since my pokemon killed every one they Auto batteled, I wasn't sure if it was just my bad luck or if they didn't recognize shiny ditto. Now I can Auto battle without worries :D
I don't know if this will help someone but you can check if a pokemon is a ditto without scanning , in the area you showed which is beside Porto Marinada every pokemon that spawns on that right side of the town will pop up a sign (exclamation or interrogation mark and I believe some show like water droplets or something) above its head when you walk near them except if the pokemon is ditto in disguise it will ignore you and just roam, the only exception to this is tandemouse which will also just roam so those are the only ones I scan to see if its a ditto.
My Pokémon wouldn’t fight something normal within the past couple of days. This morning, I figured it had to have been one of the hidden shinies. Hopefully it was ditto and not Zorua.
There's a chance it wouldn't fight bc you may have been near a cliff's edge, too close to water, etc etc
I have noticed this happens with the Let's Go function. I normally reposition myself & try again & it will KO it.
I figured I'd mention so maybe you feel comfort knowing you may have not passed up a shiny after all

Zorua should be the same. Tbh I haven’t seen one yet so I don’t know where they even spawn 😂
@@ProfessorRex same areas as ditto, and always run away from you no matter who their disguised as
@@ProfessorRex I found one near the Poison Star base.
@@ProfessorRex I often find them in the area between the ruins and the city at night. They're disguised as pokemon who shouldn't be there, like a Pineco hopping around on the ground, or pokemon found in the area but they behave differently.
For example, if they're disguised as soodowoodo, they'll run much slower than a real one, or if they're a Mankey, they won't try to attack you.

I assume this is the same for Zorua since they share that same mechanic. Never mind the assumption its absolutely the same.
Thank god it does this, I assumed so ok how they work in the game but i didn't want to go and test and possible lose out on one lol

I randomly found one 2nd day of playing BUT I couldn't catch it before it ran of of moves and fainted. My stupidity. i was using a pokemon that couldn't be put to sleep using spore and it didn't' occur to me to switch pokemon, let him copy that, and then switch back and spore him. Probably wouldn't have worked anyway.

Im also feeling shiny grief, due to drift I killed a Shiny Litleo. My Pawmot went fir Arm Thrust instead of Nuzzle. Had no idea you could save and itd be fine like in Legends. Rip Shiny Litleo. My first failed shiny since ironically, a Shiny Ditto back in FireRed

can you auto battle it to get shiny?
When you auto battle a non shiny it will knock it out, when you try to auto battle one that is shiny your Pokémon will not attack it
Shiny hunting zoroark is a pain...

@@ProfessorRexIt'll still be disguised as another pokemon, and like shown with ditto and zorua's, they can hide as non-shinies. That's the pain.
Zorua has much more spawns than ditto so it will be relatively simple. ditto took me 17 hour but zorua only take like 1 hour

I used cheat codes to make the dittos shiny. If you run the game through atmosphere or ryujinx it’s possible for you to do the same
@@ProfessorRex I was just checking to see if the lock on system showing the name was the cheat if that's base then that's very handy

What about Ditto Outbreaks ?
As best I can tell ditto outbreaks are broken in 1.0.1, they don’t spawn anything
