in fact, i even have a framework around it to value it more, now there's more tappers to compare to in mordern youtube, exploioting tapping technique to its limits got some proper traction with modern youtube guitarists, but this has so much feeling to the tapped parts, you still don't find them clean often, and it's still freakish after all these years
I remember many years ago I asked Carlos on myspace (yes myspace) how he developed his technique. He stated to start with using two fingers first of your picking hand and then introduce the third. Oh how different the internet was. I hope you’re doing well out there Carlos. Still a huge influence all these years later.
This is the oldest video on my UA-cam favorites list. Just rediscovered it today, hope it never goes away. If that sounds like a soapbox comment about content providers and monetization policies changing, then so be it. It's just incredible to me that I discovered this more than 10 years ago and it is still here (unlike my hotmail inbox and everything else on the internet before 2007).
We played this song at my best friends funeral here in Norway yesterday. It was the first song played. Very moving for all of us. Thank you. I am a professional musician myself and I give you my full respect. kind regards from Norway.
I come back to hear this often, and i never get tired of it. I can never get tired of listening a true art. There is so much soul and feelings in this masterpiece. You took Jimmy's song and made it even better. Such a shame that people with this much talent are still in the shadow's, or maybe to many people are blinded by the fake stars that shine with the fake light.
I believe Jimi would have greatly appreciated this wonderful take on his gorgeous ballad! The fluid right hand technique is for me, reminiscent of the great Stanley Jordan.
How does this vid only have 1mm hits? Dude, you got more talent in your pinky then those so called "artists" at the top of the you tube charts. Awesome!
That was outstanding!!!! ... I am pretty much speechless right now and could watch this over and over again. Thanks for your wonderful interpretation of this amazing song! Regards! Uli
The "Gift" Jimi Hendrix was given to bless the world with beauty and tranquility is faithfuly demonstrated in this video by the amazing virtuoso Carlos Vamos who has been blessed with a "Gift" also. This is ~ Absoulute Genius!!!
That is absolutely ridiculous. He makes an acoustic guitar sound like... well there's nothing else that sounds that beautiful. Well done, sir. Well done.
you should be world famous by now and a house whole name.....your one of the best genuine guitarist I ever heard theses days. There is just to must crap out there stealing the show from talent like yours....your truly great player...max
well wouldnt it be boring if we all played the original? this is a beautiful and creative version.so much better than all the others i have heard on you tube.....played with talent and skill...........in other words its bloomin marvellous!!!
About 20 years ago I was in Amsterdam as a teen with some friends and when we got to some square we heard this magical sound that was Carlos vamos! I had to buy his album guitarnica and I cherish his music up till today!
Most two handed tappers LOOK amazing, but when you shut your eyes and listen, there's not much music there. However, you sir are an incredible musician. I can LISTEN to this arrangement and be totally amazed. Thanks for investing the time you have into your music.
Ive seen his video quite a few times a while back... Then came back to see it after a couple months. Still as soothing, and still as amazing. You are truly my guitar hero. Thanks just for existing.
agreed. I think Jimi is that kind of guy who would put everything he learned into his music. and he would also pay a visit to this guy just to learn more about tapping from him.
I'm a BIG Jimi fan and this guy has that something like Jimi. His Technique is flawless and he moves with ease. That's a Legendary quality. Carlos Vamos, I won't forget your name bro'. Guitarnica, Thanx for the post and thank you for making sure the audio was set correctly. Otherwise I wouldn't have heard what I heard,....PURE MAGIC......
I can't get over how smoothly you play this. Its such an unorthodox style of playing, but you make it look like the most natural thing in the world. Keep doing what your doing!
Beautifully played. I'm impressed that he didn't use the oh so popular "shredding" technique and instead concentrated on the melody and harmonics of the song. No question he put a lot of thought into this arrangement. I'm a Jimi fan and often find that the character of his songs are replaced by technicalities. To me, this version doesn't come off as "an exercise in playing Hendrix" but rather a inspired tribute to a favorite artist. Rock on!!
My favourite tapping guitarist, who also happens to be a friend of my local colleague Lindsay Buckland. Thanks for the inspiration Carlos; I hope you accept me posting a video response as a way to say thanks.
speechless! I wish I could play the original version & then I heard CV version & realiazed there isnt enough time in the day for someone like me / Mr ADD to sit down long enough to attemp to learn the CV version. I love this cover awsome!
My comment was intended as a compliment to Carlos, but I entirely share the point you made: lots of guitarist can cover Little Wing as well, and MONTE MONTGOMERY sure does a wonderful version. Yet, Carlos' version is Unique, and that's what music is all about, creating something unique! Tanks for the tip on Montgomery!
well i gotta say that im in love.... not with you but your mastery and expression with the guitar. ive probably watched this video a thousand times this week alone. this gives me inspiration to pick my guitar back up and learn more. thanks carlos.
the style of playing you aleady did surely gained some traction on the old youtube, we have young guitar gods tapping all over the place these days, this kind of sophistication is still hard to come by though, so much dynamics and emotion in the tapping too.
Hi Carlos while I'm typing I'm listening, you have developed a truly unique guitar style capturing sounds and harmonics never thought off, I'm flabbergasted by this uniqueness and approach, unbelievable, greetings Vic.(I'll send you my version).
Incredible! It's amazing how one talented person can create so much sound!!! His playing is so well done it gives the impression of an entire orchestra!
It's just like a fairy tail told by someone very close to you. Carlos, when I meet somebody really intrested in music, I always tell them 'bout you. Few weeks ago I recomended this version to Music Director of our local radio in Poland (at least a million people in range). The guy was amazed. But there's always a "but". "How can I play him on the radio?" - he asked. "There's no album of the guy, all I found was MP3..." Carlos, come on, you're too good to be world-wide-unknown! :)
Came back after 12 years and nothings changed... he's still awesome!
Always good to see another og here 😎
in fact, i even have a framework around it to value it more, now there's more tappers to compare to in mordern youtube, exploioting tapping technique to its limits got some proper traction with modern youtube guitarists, but this has so much feeling to the tapped parts, you still don't find them clean often, and it's still freakish after all these years

14 years later and this video still blows my mind. what a beautiful talent

Same! ❤️

This performance makes me wish there was a repeat button on youtube. Just an amazing cover.

This guy is no Musician...He is a Magician. Man... simply awe inspiring! One of the BEST! if not...THE best!
In my opinion this is one of the greatest songs ever played on the guitar.
His fingers move like they're in slow motion. his style is total grace.
After almost 15 years, Carlos is still my favorite acoustic tapper. Tasteful and not showy. Thanks for this one!
I have so much Respect for you man. This is the way a guitar is supposed to be played. This is a perfect example of a genuine guitarist.
I believe Jimi would have greatly appreciated this wonderful take on his gorgeous ballad! The fluid right hand technique is for me, reminiscent of the great Stanley Jordan.
Greg Vinson He actually got lessons off Stanley Jordan! The lucky bastard
Edward Guest That would be super cool, but hey, at least the rest of us can steal from him by watching his videos. ;)
yes hes one of stanleys protégés! tooo sick this always gets better even after 10 years!! amazing...
Im back in 2020, and it still gives me visible chills.
How does this vid only have 1mm hits? Dude, you got more talent in your pinky then those so called "artists" at the top of the you tube charts. Awesome!
Carlos..... everytime I watch this I get chills...... you're insanely awesome.... I hope someday to see you play live
I don't think I have ever seen a better example of the right brain and left brain working together in all my life. Simply amazing..
That was outstanding!!!! ... I am pretty much speechless right now and could watch this over and over again. Thanks for your wonderful interpretation of this amazing song!
Regards!

And people like Justin Beiber get famous.
It's a shame that true talent like this barely gets the recognition it deserves.
This guy is incredible!
people are trained for "pop" music ... it is easy and repetitive
Well that is the world we live in.
It is what it is. Fame and talent have no correlation on this upside down clown show.
Its amazing that he can play this on his own. I would be impressed if this piece was played by two people
Amazing
Toutes les personnes en France avec lesquelles j'ai partagé ont adoré.
Take Care Carlos.
Somebody help me get my Jaw off the Floor... Jimi would be grinning if he heard this:)
That is absolutely ridiculous. He makes an acoustic guitar sound like... well there's nothing else that sounds that beautiful. Well done, sir. Well done.
I think these must be the clearest acoustic guitar sound I have heard in utube , wat is the recording gear
it's good ears not the gear. technology only goes half the distance
dude, you should be among the most famous guitarists, touring all around the world!!! what you do with that guitar is just mindblowing.
This guy is in fact, an android. True story
you should be world famous by now and a house whole name.....your one of the best genuine guitarist I ever heard theses days. There is just to must crap out there stealing the show from talent like yours....your truly great player...max
well wouldnt it be boring if we all played the original? this is a beautiful and creative
version.so much better than all the others i have heard on you tube.....played with talent and skill...........in other words its bloomin marvellous!!!
One of the 2 best left handed performances of this song I've ever heard.
Incredibly beautiful. If Hendrix was alive today, I think he would really appreciate this style. It's really all about getting the message across.
I bought your CD years ago and I still enjoy it. It's a staple on my phone
About 20 years ago I was in Amsterdam as a teen with some friends and when we got to some square we heard this magical sound that was Carlos vamos! I had to buy his album guitarnica and I cherish his music up till today!

16 years later... still awesome!
Ive seen his video quite a few times a while back... Then came back to see it after a couple months. Still as soothing, and still as amazing. You are truly my guitar hero. Thanks just for existing.
Superb ! Great technique, a soulful play ... An Insuperable musician ! You bring tears in my eyes, rain in my soul ! Respect from Greece.
Never seen something played so effortlessly. Amazed
If I weren't watching the video, it would be hard for me to believe that you were playing that on an acoustic! You play it so clean!
I can't find the words to describe how beautiful this is.
.....just brilliant! Best acoustic version of Little Wing I've ever heard!
Can't believe one person can have this much talent
no matter how many times i watch this im blown away!
Jimi lives in your heart, man. You give us hope, a reason to want to live, the way you play. Peace.
I met Jill in Philadelphia before Woodstock😊😊
Memories of Jimi at few Electric Facrory in Philadelphia in 1964
just mesmerizing.. wow im inspired to get better
I’m amazed that this doesn’t have 1 million likes. Jimmy would be impressed.

I saw Jimi live many times and assure you Jimi loves you as do I. Keep your heart open and your fingers moving. Great work!!
I can't get over how smoothly you play this. Its such an unorthodox style of playing, but you make it look like the most natural thing in the world. Keep doing what your doing!
Wow... even also left-handed. Very Henrixish! Beautiful :)
Beautifully played. I'm impressed that he didn't use the oh so popular "shredding" technique and instead concentrated on the melody and harmonics of the song. No question he put a lot of thought into this arrangement.

Beautiful acoustic version of Little Wing played on a Gibson Dove. Very, very lovely!
