I've seen some extremely good guitarist before (really good guitarist), but if I'm being honest (I know that it's really a subjective thing), I truly don't believe that this man has an equal. I believe that this man has a skill set that is absolute perfection. My word Mr. Joscho Stephan, I truly believe that you are absolutely on Another Level sir. Be well.

If you are right, then I've wasted 55 years of my life even though I like the things that I can play. Joscho Stephan is a world class guitarist, in the same league as Tommy Emmanual. A departure for sure but what a departure it was! I first heard the original in December 1966 and that song stills gives me chills. Hendrix's solo was an utter revelation that still inspires to this day. Thanks for keeping Jimi's music alive as it deserves to still be heard by a new younger generation.

I first saw Hendrix on TV on Top of the Pops in the UK with a group of friends - and we all went "Jesus! What the F*CK was that!" and were completely blown away. I saw him live in late 1967.
By the way, the song was supposedly written by Billy Roberts in 1965, and the first recorded version was by the Leaves in 1965. ua-cam.com/video/PCZNFPaz1iw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JeanPierre However there is a lot of controversy about the song's origins - see wikipedia.

I'm not sure if this is an accurate statement, but is gypsy jazz the only "traditional" jazz style that has the guitarist bends their strings? By "traditional" I mean anything as old as the 20's but still before the fusion era of the 60's. I might be completely wrong though. I just find it interesting how some jazz purists don't believe in string bending, but I personally see no reason to avoid that style of technique.

I love Joscho's playing. Most electric guitarists would cover this with sustain and amp drive, but to listen to it played like this,on a guitar where the notes decay relatively quickly, and you are left with the spaces in between the notes, makes you want to trash your Les Pauls and Strats and go and buy a Gypsy Jazz Guitar instead.Superb.

How'd you like that short segue into Voodoo Chile? The whole concept of this cover is brilliant...both conceptually as well as performance. Just...Wow.

C'est bien quand ça va vite, mais c'est mieux quand c'est beau. Et là, on est vernis car a les deux ! Les quatre même, avec la contrebasse et la pompe, véritables métronomes.
    Un régal absolu !

WOW!!! As a musician/teacher for 33 + years, I'd found myself less and less impressed by speed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it as much as the next person, but only if used to enhance or to add something to a piece or a tune. Otherwise for me it gets old real fast. However, I enjoyed the way he used his ability to play fast passages and his original arrangement and interpretation of the late GREAT Jimi Hrndrix's Hey Joe, one of my personal favorites.
For m, this was probably one of the most creative, smart and original covers/arrangements that I think I've ever heard! It was just beautiful and the whole band was in sinc and tight! Loved it and looking forward to more! Peace.

Billy Roberts wrote this chain gang song back in 1961. Jimi changed the original lyrics a bit. I'm a big jazz fan, so this very good cover.

I know this song since years, i listened to it hundreds of times...but everytime is like the first one, i think this is my favorite song.
If i was able to play the guitar as Mr. Stephan i wouldn't eat, drink, sleep, or doing anything but just play the guitar over and over again...
