Ok, I think someone might have already said this but: the trees are mushrooms, that were once people. Think about it, the trees are connected to each other (via mycelium), the trees are a source of visions and hallucinations (much like shrooms) and I suspect the reason that the Three Eyed Raven is stuck in the tree not because he impaled himself on it, but rather it sprouted from him. I suspect that Green Seers are infected with this fungus, and it provides them abilities in a semi-dormant state, however, overtime, the infection begins to overtake the man. So they sequester themselves away, take root, and become the trees.

It could be Jojen's blood only in the bowl, mixed with substances. The description of weirwood paste is similar to Dany tasting shade of the evening. Both contain drugs which make them hallucinate familiar tastes. Many cultures throughout history believed blood contained life force.
Considering the dragon seeds from the dance of the dragons, “weirwood seeds” could take on a whole new meaning of its own. I’m a few years late, but this was an excellent video as always.
They really should have included this in the show (they could have just implied it). It would have made it more interesting when Bran sits the throne. One of the interesting things about the story is that characters are morally grey. I sympathise with the CotF but their long game is chilling and not "good"
Well «weirwood seeds» could literally be a metaphorical term for any worg, skinchanger, singer. After all weirwood trees seam to be the source of green wizards powers , which could mean they are the children of the weirwood trees , and what are the children of trees !? Seeds ! Jo was a green wizard, so he was a child of weirwoods therefore he was «weirwood seeds» ! I should probably continue to watch the video, I am sure this analogy was been better explained in it at some point !
There actually was animal mating kind of hinted at well when Varymyr Six-Skins talks about when he slips into the female wolf he says he always gets "mounted" or "slid into by One eye." Just thank God GRRM didn't go into too much detail there with: “Ol' One-Eye.” 🤔😱
No, nothing was hinted. Varymyr says he would sometimes slip into the female wolf of the pack (in particular) when she was being mounted by the one-eyed wolf. Varymyr was a pretty kinky guy
You specifically mention you believe Bran needs the weirwood paste to be prepared for his greenseer future. Do you think Bloodraven underwent a similar process after he went north of the wall? Who do you think guided him in his journey?
I might be wrong but I swear there are pigs at crasters keep as I remember Jon or Sam remarking on the fact that it is weird that there are pigs this far north in clash of kings or storm of swords and if coldhands just came back from crasters it might be it is pork.
Believe you’re thinking of goats, as Craster left multiple for the Others in sacrifice. I could be wrong though it’s been a while since I’ve read Clash.
4:12 fyi as someone who hunts often to feed my family, the heart of an animal can be prepared in many different ways and if cooked properly can be both delicious and good for you.
So how do you think they kill Jojen or take his blood and make the paste that Bran consumes? I’m imagining Jojen pinioned to the tree like Bloodraven and the roots are all twisting through his body and removing his blood. Then in a TWOW chapter, Bran will find Jojens hollow corpse in some cave outlet and the CotF will be like “we had to do it to awaken your gift” and Bran will GTFO of that cave 😅
While weirwood seeds were never mentioned, there must be some way to grow them. Given all their connections to blood sacrifice, I'd guess you would need some blood to grow weirwoods. Which means that technically the child of the forest wasn't lying. It really was a weirwood seed paste.
As you say we don't know what Weirwood seeds look like or if they even exist, it's said Garth the Green planted Weirwoods but again no details on how he did that. Perhaps Bloodraven and the children didn't lie to Bran so much as exclude details about the paste. It could be made of Weirwoods seeds if corpses, or greenseers in particular are somehow used to plant Weirwoods. Jojen, and perhaps Meera as well, being the seeds. This would also make Garth the Green seem more like a conqueror than the merry 'too good to be true' Johnny Appleseed of Westeros that he's made out to be.
I wonder which part of Jojen was used since the bowl obviously didn’t have the whole thing, the heart does have some connotations regarding vitality and power, and the brain is mush enough that it probably wouldn’t be too hard to turn into paste, would need some food coloring to hide the grey color though.
Fresh brains actually look white-pink, not grey. Especially young brains. The gray-ness is only very slight. It also has rivers of red running through it. The taste does not match. Brains taste like cream and butter and pork and cod liver all combined (although I've never had human brain, it's made of similar components to pig and lamb brain). Cod liver is a rather mild fishy taste. That overlapping fishy taste comes from oxidized long chain omega 3 fatty acids, especially the DHA in the brain. But the CotF have powerful magic. They could easily alter the taste, or at least Bran's perception. This also means that in order for the paste to be a werewood seed paste (ie the children telling the truth, which they seem to always do) the were wood trees have to be made of people. Or they could have simply seasoned it with weird plants, brain is mild in flavor, and also magic is going.

I think once I heard the phrase “weirwood seed” I knew it was a person. Mainly because weirwoods are almost certainly created via human sacrifice especially the sacrifice of a green-seer.
Nope, not Jojen paste! I absolutely agree that the foreshadowing for Bram eating Jojen is there however I don't think he's in the paste. We establish in the vision that Bran knows what blood tastes like, as his life flowed out of him Bran could taste the blood. He says the paste tastes bitter and compares it to acorn paste. Not to mention it is white, so at most there's just a splash of Jojen, but I still think Bran would have tasted it. But my biggest reason to disagree is the parallel with the shade of the evening! Both are psychedelics that change from icky to tasty as you drink, and they come from trees with opposite colors. They are clearly parallel substances so I think they are both from trees. Although if they needed to sacrifice Jojen to put his green dream power into the paste, that covers the sacrifice, and maybe once Bran has learned more he will willingly eat Jojen
18:37 Also could be seen as a reference to Tolkien, specifically Frodo and his friends being abducted by the Barrowights, and the disembodied arm that tries to decapitate them.
Man, seldom have I been more gratefull for being a vegetarian for all of the 36 years I've been on this crazy planet. And when I want to trip I can just go mushroom picking in the fall, and all my mossy eyed friends can feel safe. Not really wanting to be an all powerfull godlike greenseer-warg anyway. But my white Direwolf... ehm, I mean Siberian Husky, might have other plans though... Sometimes he growles in his sleep when we share the bed, and I'm sure he's aware that my eyes are green too.
This has been bugging me lately: "Your blood makes you a green seer" he means that generally. Everyone really thinks Jojen is the green seer, not Bran (due to the green eyes and green dreams) ...so "your blood makes you a green seer" could really mean Jojen and by eating Jojen, Bran indeed does take on his powers to be wed to the trees. I don't feel like simply eating paste (no matter who or what it's made of, lol) would be enough. Eating the frog boy was necessary.
I totally get why people are skeptical of these type of wordplay clues at first, but once you've looked at enough of them you just start to realize that this is George Martin's form of humor, his little inside jokes
Going through the playlists, playlists playlists! 🎵 and then up pops my favourite vid! 🥰 In my 'nthly viewing...I have new question (which I'm sure has been touched on, because it's pretty obvious) Since we've all established that Bran defo ate the paste that is Jojen: "Weirwood paste = weirwood "seeds" = Jojen" ... are weirwood seeds Green Seers, or those maybe that have a gift like Jojen's but isn't a "true" seer like Bran? Again sort of establishing that to awaken Bran's power he needed to eat the seeds, seeds being Jojen in this case. I'm wondering if this was the case for every/some Green Seers? (Also just saw the Blood Moon confirmed video - wouldn't it be wild if the Stark princess ended up eating the paste of the last Casterly or something to echo what's going on with Bran?)
Ha wow hats off for finding new places to make greenseer paste. Yeah you know I’m not sure what all George is doing with all this, we’ll just have to see. But if Bran needed it then everyone else probably did too

Is this supposed to be a scientific explanation /rationalization?
@@sean5558 Yes.

Every time that bowl of paste is flashed on screen, I get a little more hungry.
It could be Jojen's blood only in the bowl, mixed with substances. The description of weirwood paste is similar to Dany tasting shade of the evening. Both contain drugs which make them hallucinate familiar tastes. Many cultures throughout history believed blood contained life force.
Yes, I'm open to the idea they are just bleeding him as well
Considering the dragon seeds from the dance of the dragons, “weirwood seeds” could take on a whole new meaning of its own. I’m a few years late, but this was an excellent video as always.
They really should have included this in the show (they could have just implied it). It would have made it more interesting when Bran sits the throne. One of the interesting things about the story is that characters are morally grey. I sympathise with the CotF but their long game is chilling and not "good"
Totally agreed as to the element this would have added
Your long game wouldn't be sunshine and fairy farts either if your people had been nearly killed off by invaders.
I still don't understand how people agreed to Bran being king. he'd done nothing, and has no training in governance.
Bon appetit Brandon lol. Tons of foreshadowing I didn’t know existed! Great stuff as always.

Going to be heartbreaking when Bran finds out.
What heart?
I keep hoping that's what turns him away from Bloodraven.
I really think you need to do a special episode on "Disgusting ASOIAF." If you can make this fun and palatable, you can do anything!
*WEIRWOOD* *PASTE* *IS* *PEOPLE* !!!
You specifically mention you believe Bran needs the weirwood paste to be prepared for his greenseer future. Do you think Bloodraven underwent a similar process after he went north of the wall? Who do you think guided him in his journey?
The Raven's Teeth.
Excellent video to watch while cooking dinner. 10/10 would recommend
He had some pigs, they'd all been slaughtered by the time the survivors from the fist get there. Some of the crows are talking about hams and bacon.
4:12 fyi as someone who hunts often to feed my family, the heart of an animal can be prepared in many different ways and if cooked properly can be both delicious and good for you.
Duly noted!
Your serenade of your viewers ROCKED!
I think this is very possible actually, yeah.
Lucifer means Lightbringer can’t frickin wait for these TWOW chapters!!
Great livestream today homie 👌🏼
While weirwood seeds were never mentioned, there must be some way to grow them. Given all their connections to blood sacrifice, I'd guess you would need some blood to grow weirwoods. Which means that technically the child of the forest wasn't lying. It really was a weirwood seed paste.
They don’t grow from seeds, they’re made with magic, or were made with magic… and they’re all connected to each more like fungus than plant
Oh my God I absolutely love the title of the video! It makes me really sad that more people don’t get this reference!
I made all my best jokes in this one
I wonder which part of Jojen was used since the bowl obviously didn’t have the whole thing, the heart does have some connotations regarding vitality and power, and the brain is mush enough that it probably wouldn’t be too hard to turn into paste, would need some food coloring to hide the grey color though.
I’m thinking it was Jojen brains yeah
"WEIRWOOD PASTE IS PEOPLE!!!" I laughed way too hard at that.
I'm pretty sure Martin didn't intend half of the wordplay you use
But if he did... He is even smarter and wickeder than I thought

Jojen has gotta be one of the most underrated characters. Even though he was only around for a short time, I enjoyed his character. It's sad but almost admirable how he accepts his inevitable fate.
"No cut and PASTE affair" you really are good at what you do here
Also, early in the novels GRRM describes Greenseers as often having "mossy" green eyes & being sickly children who died young (paraphrased). A description of Jojen...

I think once I heard the phrase “weirwood seed” I knew it was a person. Mainly because weirwoods are almost certainly created via human sacrifice especially the sacrifice of a green-seer.

Oh I just missed this, a min ago but here we go.
OMG! I've seen that movie...it was a hit back then . Soilent green... Love your uniqueness 🎆
Was literally eating a chicken pie while watching this
Nope, not Jojen paste!
Nope. Brains is white. Brains wouldn't taste like blood. A white, gelatenous paste, which is exactly how GMM describes it. Nice try.
Also, man, that Omer88 Coldhands picture is absolutely badass.
Ser Tommard Long I need a Coldhands reveal in WoW!!!!
Hahah you're just a snack baby
@@DavidLightbringer I'd rather be eaten by him then the common worms in the earth.😉
Wait. Why the hell did you have ranch dressing next to your cereal. Ohhh god Never mind. I dont want to know why.
I love how you endlessly grasp for symbolism in the placement and order of words. Some would call that egregious. I call it thorough. Beautiful stuff.
I totally get why people are skeptical of these type of wordplay clues at first, but once you've looked at enough of them you just start to realize that this is George Martin's form of humor, his little inside jokes
Magic always has a price
Love that theme in ASOIAF. It's so deep when you realise it.
Ah yes, my favorite ASOIAF theory to watch while eating Whataburger
Going through the playlists, playlists playlists! 🎵 and then up pops my favourite vid! 🥰 In my 'nthly viewing...I have new question (which I'm sure has been touched on, because it's pretty obvious)
Since we've all established that Bran defo ate the paste that is Jojen: "Weirwood paste = weirwood "seeds" = Jojen" ... are weirwood seeds Green Seers, or those maybe that have a gift like Jojen's but isn't a "true" seer like Bran?
Again sort of establishing that to awaken Bran's power he needed to eat the seeds, seeds being Jojen in this case. I'm wondering if this was the case for every/some Green Seers?
(Also just saw the Blood Moon confirmed video - wouldn't it be wild if the Stark princess ended up eating the paste of the last Casterly or something to echo what's going on with Bran?)
Ha wow hats off for finding new places to make greenseer paste. Yeah you know I’m not sure what all George is doing with all this, we’ll just have to see. But if Bran needed it then everyone else probably did too
@@DavidLightbringer Thanks! I get these little brain sparks every now and again after picking up other stuff from your other content, so again kudos to you.
