There ain’t nothing better than hooking into a big ol bucket mouth. It never fails to put a big ol smile on my face. What an awesome bonus for ya Gabe. Very nice fish.
Good fish brother, I live less then 35 minutes from Fredricktown and never new about this lake until just about a month ago when I was watching your Perryville community lake video, which is another awesome place. I've been there twice since then and caught great quality fish both times, even took the wife this last time and she caught her biggest bass to date, 5, 1/4#. 4days ago I was wanting to get in the water there and ended up going elsewhere. If I would went, I would have recognized you with a quickness. You mentioned the upper end and where the river comes into the lake, the little st Francois. On my first trip there in July, I checked out most of the lake as well as went approximately 2 miles up the river, which was as far as I could get in my fiberglass boat. I caught 2 fish over 3 pounds, in the main lake area, along with several smaller fish. When I got up in the river area I thought I was in fishing heaven. Mostly a constant depth of 6 to 9 ft and the structure is unbelievable. Down trees, stumps, rocks, bluffs, so much that it's hard to decide what to work first. I caught atleast 10 fish between 15" to 18", and let one about 6#s get off on me at the boat. Have to say one of the best days fishing this year so far. All caught and released that day, some on film. Wished I'd went the other day and ran into you there. Now after watching this video and writing this comment, I'm hooking up and heading there right now. I'll be flipping by 10 am, lol. Keep it up, great videos, time to go rip some lips. Would love to hook up sometime at one of these places and play bass assassins, lol.
Wow. Great info. I was wondering what it looked like up in the river. I think I went up there a long time ago but couldn't remember what it looked like. Perry County has some good ones in it. I don't fish it very often. It's only about 25 minutes from my house. Hope you caught a few today buddy. Thanks for checking out the channel. Maybe I'll see you out there and maybe a trip is in the future. Do you have a channel?
@@TheTinHorseMonty I dont have a channel yet but been in the works since about Febuary. Just downloaded a video editing program the other day and still working on figuring it out. I have hours and hours of lip rippin from here to Pomme Deterre. I am deffinetly starting a channel within the next 2 weeks, if I can figure it all out, lol. I have 5 cameras and usually have 2 or 3 going on the boat. Sometimes they seem to jinks me. I plan on getting some good bow hunting videos on public land as well. Well I'm here right now looking for a hog, I'll hit you back at dark, hopefully with a pic of pig.
@@TheTinHorseMonty Another one that would be good for Lesser Known is the lakes at Peabody River King. (in New Athens Illinois)They are strip pit lakes like Pyramid. I caught some Hogs back in the day out of Island lake. You have to put in on Beaver to get to Island. There are 3 or 4 lakes back there that inner connect. Eagle lake used to be good also.
@@mikelauer8352 Cool. Thanks Mike. I was actually looking at those on Google Earth the other day. I may take a trip up there and have a look. Appreciate the feedback.
Another good lesser know series with a great reward ! Those are the ones that make worth taking a chance on those smaller lakes. Small waters big rewards. Cool !
Great video Gabe! Some of the smaller lakes produce some pigs! Went to a smaller lake yesterday and lost about a 7lber. I was heartbroken! Been losing some big uns the past few weeks. Still getting hook ups so at least I know I'm doing something right. Lol! Hmu if you have time to go fishing sometime. Keep up the good work. Peace. Jay
Great show, Gabe, and congrats on the huge "Gangsta" (hahaha) bass. Whatever the main forage is in that lake, it sure made that well fed bass look like a spring spawner with the big belly. Before I forget to mention it, your skipping skills are very impressive. Nice lake, too. Have a great weekend, Don
Really nice video Gabe...thxs for sharing. Great catch as a bonus. I used a Veritas MH n H for a couple years, they are nice rods... little bit on the stiff side which made me switch, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks Shawn. I was surprised. Had about 2 hours to fish and figured I would be lucky to catch anything. Just never know.
Just to make sure I am thinking of the same lake, that is the one in/near Fredricktown MO feed by the St. Francis, correct?
Yes sir.
Great video as always!
Thanks Parker!
Nice Video, Nice Catch to end the day...
Thanks Jerry!

Nice pig!! Loved the slo mo skip under the trees!
Ya she was fat. Thanks on the slo mo skipping.
HELLUVA FISH MAN!!!
Is this a 9.9 lake..??
Yes. You can fish the whole thing in half a day.
Caught 7+ pounders up the river area.
It's a cool lake n that's a giant
Awesome fish man! Fish there quite often from the kayaks. I’ve heard there is quite a few double digits in that lake. 🍻
Thanks. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a double digit. I just hope people don't keep them!
Can you do a 10 minute tutorial on bait skipping ?
Good suggestion. I'll see what I can come up with.
Nice fish!!! That's a toad forsure!!
Thanks Nathan!
Love the Lesser Known Series Gabe. You should add Council Bluff Lake to the list.
Thanks Mike. I have thought about Council Bluff. Never been there. How's the bass population?
@@TheTinHorseMonty Last time I fished it was a couple years back and it was still good. Lot's of weeds around shore for punching.
@@mikelauer8352 It had a little pond weed that grew off the shore.

"Gangsta Fish", I like that, but you it an offer it couldn't refuse, Lol.
That's right. A little junebug morsel for her booty. LOL
Been years since I have fished that lake, probably over a decade! Fished it a lot as a kid, my parents are both from Fredmo!
Cool. It's a nice little lake.
Great video brother! I’m digging the music!
Thanks Fitz. Appreciate it.
Just sent you a sub man. Great videos. Keep em coming!!!
Thanks Maurice! Appreciate the Sub.
The Tin Horse Monty Cool. Laying in bed watching your Kentucky Lake BFL right now. Looking forward to fishing them again next year
@@mauricesmith542 That lake is going to turn around. It may take a few more years but I think it will come back. Fingers crossed!
The Tin Horse Monty Cool. I have never fished it before. I live in Arkansas right outside of Little Rock. It’s definitely on my bucket list
I fished the Arkie Division for several years till life got in the way. Definitely got the itch to get back out there

Good vid , good fat fish can't believe your not on lake X lol.

Thanks David. The Medium is a pretty sweet rod. The Winch is nice too. I have a MH that I feel the same way as you about.Just to stiff.
Good fishing. Nice big fish. What would you guess it weighed? It looked between 6 and 8 lbs. Thanks for the good report.
Thanks Steve. I'm guessing about 6. Maybe a little over that.

That dude was fat! Not a bad little lake.
