My dad was pretty much doing the catching and letting me bring in what he caught. We had a decent spot near a bridge. There was nobody else but us. Honestly, nobody. Late to the party on this one but just two weekends ago I had an issue on Egypt. Me and my partner are in jon boat fishing a pretty small cove. Someone on their bass boat comes flying in to the opposite end of the cove and wakes pretty hard. What a Maroon!! If there is a whole lake to fish then find a spot other fisherman aren't fishing!!! What has happened to common courtesy and respect on the water. Good thing he didn't to my buddy I fish with. Something would have happened for sure. LOL Thanks for sharing
Alot more people on the water lately. Hunting has been the same way. Never thought id see literally too many people in the woods and on the water. It ruined alot of days for me. Makes me wanna move to a different state. And i live on the great lakes. Which says alot about that statement. Im all for expansion of our sports, its needed. But why is it so so popular these days?

Typically when a person can cast into your boat you are to close. It depends on the lake. Ledge lakes are notorious for people fishing close to each other. If I feel like I'm going to be infringing on another persons stretch I won't fish it. Kind of a gut feeling. I say to myself " How would you feel if someone started fishing this close to you?" If I see someone casting or fishing an area I don't get between them and the spot, I'll go around. Just common sense. 75- 100 yards is a good rule of thumb.
It's one of the toughest things to keep your cool in situations like that.. good thing you were fishing, you could always resort to punching the grass instead 😄Good job buddy!

I am sooooo happy it wasn’t my dad….was afraid it was gonna be once I saw the title & lead in. But I will defend the guy…..hear me out. Egypt is a gem of a lake. Guys who work their whole lives to retire on a lake don’t always know the “etiquette” of fishing. They don’t know….most of them boys fish boat to boat every day. To him, you were not following the etiquette of his pond……because he doesn’t know any better. Feel free to message me & I will gladly explain further. Should he have done it?? No. Should you be butt hurt because of it?? No. You gotta understand the water you are on……..Egypt is not a public lake.
LOL Glad it wasn't your dad too. All valid points you make. I can understand a young person not knowing any better but I'm pretty sure he knew what he was doing. Whether it's private or public, Etiquette is etiquette. I'm not trying to be brash n I do appreciate your feedback. Have a great week.
Lots of idiots out there. Had a similar incident a few weeks ago. Seems to be more prevalent now then it was in the past. A lot of new and returning anglers on the water as a result of the pandemic. They need a refresher on giving other anglers adequate space. No one wants someone fishing right next to them.
Unfortunately that happens a lot . KY lake is really bad , Jerry had a right to be ticked off, that guy probably when home and his wife how rude this guy was on the lake. They just don't get it or they just don't care.
You reacted fine. Your area was infringed on. I know people that would have been much more verbally aggressive then you two where. The only time I expect that is when you fish the big bass bash. Not to have someone pull right up next to you but there are so many boats your going to cross each other's paths. I have had no problem them everyone knows it is going happen
I agree with you 100% on the boat coming in the second passenger that didn't say anything to you guys put his poles down most likely embarrassed but your comment about him calling him coward or cowarded down wasn't real cool
First of all the guys in the other boat were more mad that you could hit them with a lure but they couldn't hit you LOL AND what kind of fisherman has only ONE spot to fish? They can't go the their second spot? That guy must of caught a few good fish right there and thinks its the only spot on the lake to fish. When I see someone in one of my fav spots, I just go on by to my second and come back when their gone. BUT...not after I do a couple of donuts around their boat...HAHA Just Kidding ;-) But the real problem here is, he still doesn't think he did anything wrong. I'll be he did it again the following week to someone else. But he might want to pull up next to some Blue Hairs who can't cast as far LOL
I think that guy just does that all the time and nobody calls him out. I'm just like you, if someone is fishing a spot I just move on. There's plenty of other spots. And ya he acted like he was doing nothing wrong. ARG!
Search Results Featured snippet from the web Googan refers to a rogue fisherman: A fishing term for lowlife, shore fishermen who bait fish typically without a license, regard to regulations, and etiquette towards other people, especially other fishermen following the rules. I would've taken an egg sinker with no hook and nailed that guy. Lol. Jk. But I would've wanted to. Lol. I think you guys did the right thing by trying to stay calm and collective. It is very difficult to try and tolerate a**holes like that. I have experienced similar situations before with older and younger people on the water. One time I remember, I was on Cedar and an older man and woman, probably around 60 or 70 years old, came through where I was fishing with his outboard opened up while my line was in the water. I guess he didn't want to waste time, gas, and money to go an extra 20 yds around me. Or I guessed that he thought me being younger, that I owed him something? Idk nor did I care at that moment. They did the same thing though, barely a glance. They knew what they were doing and what they got away with, but, hopefully karma come back on them. The problem is with those type of people, they will never understand why that karma happened to them. They remind me of certain drivers on the road that truly think they are the only ones on the road. Okay... rant over. Lol. But you guys did do it the right way. You stood your ground without getting too upset. Even though, I'm sure you guys were plenty upset. You just can't fix stupid, ignorant, selfish people. Until next time. Good luck and stay safe.
Hey bro I don't know how you kept your cool it's unbelievable how rude people are I mean what is wrong with these people. That was totally uncalled for what was this guy blind. The excuses this guy was giving you I'm sorry bud but that guy was a asshole. He did that on purpose. And you guys handled that great. I would have blew my stack disrespectful moron. I wish you guys would have hit him in the head with the lure . I mean is that what it really takes. I didn't hear you you know guys sometimes you think people are on drugs doing something like that. Ps hey Tim horse Monty I subscribed to your channel I really enjoyed that swimjig video I saw The other day. God bless you and your family.
Thanks for subscribing Michael. Luckily I haven't had a run in with any dis respectful fishermen in a while. I think having a camera in the boat helps. God Bless you too.
You challenge their integrity and they couldn't answer the challenge. The way you guys handled the situation would be welcome in politics, but you can throw that idea out the window nowadays. Treble hooks to the left ear is more suitable for standing one's ground in todays environment. You can't challenge what a person is lacking, integrity!!!
Yes I've had that happen, sometimes I'm ready to leave anyway and don't need the sore knuckles! But I also have put the trolling motor on the bank, and said let's throw down now buddy! Glad you're cool-headed. I'm amped up just watching the damn video. would like to know who the hell that ole boy is! just go over and give him a lesson one day when I'm even in a pissy or move
You guys are a class act don't let one idiot ruin your day. You handled that very well.

There’s definitely a unwritten fisherman’s code. An he definitely broke some rules! Didn’t expect that from a elderly gentleman.
Ya we were surprised.
I too am a very Passive person, but this season we've had some moments that made me get verbal. Etiquette is definitely at the wayside anymore.

Wow!! Crazy story. I need to hire you as a body guard!
@@TheTinHorseMonty haha that's funny but thankfully I've never had another encounter quite like that and I'm an easy going guy just love fishing
Couldn't agree more. Sometimes it really tests your patience.
Lol....I liked it and aint even seen the vid yet.
LOL
Awesome
😎
Unfortunately that happens a lot . KY lake is really bad , Jerry had a right to be ticked off, that guy probably when home and his wife how rude this guy was on the lake. They just don't get it or they just don't care.
Ya. Some folks don't get it!
Freakin people are ridiculous, I like to throw a-rigs towards those guys.
LOL
I had that done to me at kinkaid
Seems to be more common than it used to be.
Yep, disrespectful.
Thanks Rick
You reacted fine. Your area was infringed on. I know people that would have been much more verbally aggressive then you two where. The only time I expect that is when you fish the big bass bash. Not to have someone pull right up next to you but there are so many boats your going to cross each other's paths. I have had no problem them everyone knows it is going happen
I'm with you Mike on the BBB. It's a free for all. Just expect it.
Googanism at its finest...more like worst🤬
Yes sir!
this stuff happens more and more it seems ,,,,, as a side note Jerry did a lot of talking in this episode
Possibly the most commentary by Jerry in a video LOL
Ha! Just saw this I just said something about this to you on messenger
Yup
THAT FELLOW WAS AN A-HOLE YA'LL DID BETTER THAN I WOULD HAVE. JB
I agree with you 100% on the boat coming in the second passenger that didn't say anything to you guys put his poles down most likely embarrassed but your comment about him calling him coward or cowarded down wasn't real cool
I'm glad that day is behind me.
ARG!
Extremely rude
Yup
Y’all did better than me I would’ve did something way worst
I hope he will learn something from this video. If he even hears about it!
Some people are simply entitled tools!
Agree. I love the word tool. Thanks for keeping it alive!!
Monty milt here I would have words with those clowns you have a hooo then there those clowns milt
Agree Milt
So I’m confused why you put googan?
Google " Definition of Googan"
i think its flairs grandpa that was in that boat
Jack Wampler where does that assumption come from?

@@juicyjonah2271just an educated guess
Way too close and he was forcing his way into the spot.
Yup. He knew what he was doing.
Tighten your drag :)
LOL
You’re nicer than me!
LOL Sometimes it's hard to bite my tongue
@@TheTinHorseMonty don’t hesitate, some guys need it. As long as it’s at least somewhat civil. Great channel btw🙌🏼😎
Clickbait
Just hoping the guy will see the video and learn something.
Probably thought yall should have stayed your asses in MO
You challenge their integrity and they couldn't answer the challenge. The way you guys handled the situation would be welcome in politics, but you can throw that idea out the window nowadays. Treble hooks to the left ear is more suitable for standing one's ground in todays environment. You can't challenge what a person is lacking, integrity!!!
Well said.
😠
Yes
Yes I've had that happen, sometimes I'm ready to leave anyway and don't need the sore knuckles! But I also have put the trolling motor on the bank, and said let's throw down now buddy! Glad you're cool-headed. I'm amped up just watching the damn video. would like to know who the hell that ole boy is! just go over and give him a lesson one day when I'm even in a pissy or move
LOL Sorry the video got you fired up Scott!! When I get older I'll probably get grumpy n have a few words with theses types at some point
