    I've owned mine for about 10 years now and never opened the box. This year I had a family of skunks move in my back yard. I opened it placed a pellet in the chamber pumped it 15 times. One pellet one skunk!

      Me either, but it's pretty accurate 25 to 30 yards before you have to compensate for drop.

    Nice! I was actually wondering just the other day how much fps and how many pumps i'd need to play with my 1377 indoors without punching through anything. Thanks for posting!

      Glad the info was useful! I do plan to make videos showing the ballistic effect per pump on these guns in the future too

      Please do. I have no crony but do have trajectory. Will comment. Guessing my fps is 580 with rws 8.3 gr.

    I have both 1377 and 1322.
    I like to shoot into old hardback books to compare the penetration of various styles of pellets.
    Books are a very consistent testing medium for testing penetration. There are no knots or hard and soft layers like wood can have. I can count the pages to see how one pellet compares with another.
    The deepest penetrators in 22 that
    I have found are the .220 lead balls that a guy on EBay sells.
    I am pretty sure that he gets them from Ballistic Products in 8 pound jugs.
    Gamo sells .180 round lead balls for 22 air guns but these Crossmans can handle larger .220 balls for better accuracy.
    I don't know how they will shoot at distance yet but at 10 feet they shoot into one hole at the same point of aim as 14.3 pellets.
    I am still working on what is the best size ball to use in 177 Crossmans
    Thanks for the video.

    Paper for targets and for stopping pellets: you can find old books for a song, and even for free. Old encyclopedias, coffee table books, medical textbooks, and all kinds of other thick hardcover books...they make excellent backdrops and targets.
    You can attach targets to the covers, or just tear or cut out pages and attach them to the cover with tape, super glue, or glue sticks.
    You can find photos and figures in some books that make for interesting and varied targets.

    I own the 1377, 4 pumps works really good for targets. I really like this pistol. I also bought the shoulder extension, helps with accuracy big time. Los Angeles

    I turned my stock 1377 into a beast by adding the 26" Marauder barrel and while I was at it I added the 1399 rifle stock and steal breach and a Pinty 3x9-32 AO scope. Now I have an awesome rifle to hunt with and the velocity (just guessing) is in the mid to upper 600 fps which is much, much faster than the stock pistol. I used to punch a hole in a can of corn at 20 meters and now the pellet goes completely through the can with Crosman pointed pellets.

      Can i add a Marauder barrel to a 2240???

    • @uncle_spanky
      @uncle_spanky 8 місяців тому

      Yes, but you'll want to add the steel breech too. Even change the caliber if you wanted to just order both in the caliber you want.

    For all ammo there is an optimal barrel length. To short and you dont use up all the propellant. too long a barrel will start to slow down the projectile because its used up all its propellant before leaving the barrel.

    I do 8 pumps with the 1377 which I thought was too small of a caliber, but it was on sale. With fine steady of hand sighting I bump off invasive bird species Pidgeons, morning doves, and Grackles in this retirement community. I don't mess with the native birds of Arizona. Has plenty of punch for birds and small mammals/rodents. Robert at 69.

    I bought the 1377 and was so happy with it that I bought the 1322 as well. They're surprisingly powerful and accurate for such a small package. Out of the box the triggers suck, but that's an easy mod.

    • @joebotz1243
      @joebotz1243 2 роки тому

      I'm about to buy a 1377 do you have any links or recommendations on how to modify the trigger?

    • @JoeSyxpack
      @JoeSyxpack 2 роки тому +1

      @@joebotz1243 The mod I did was to simply replace the trigger spring with a lighter spring. I guess for safety reasons the factory spring is very stiff which makes the trigger very heavy.
      Changing it is simple enough. Here's a vid on how to access it that spring. ua-cam.com/video/LS92gpqJm6E/v-deo.html
      I didn't buy that adjustable kit. I had a big bag of old machine springs and found a light one about the same size that works great. Made a huge difference. If you want to get crazy you can polish the sear but that's a more involved process with parts that are easy to lose. I wouldn't bother with that unless the trigger has creep. Just changing the spring will give you the biggest improvement, it's cheap and easy to do.

    Does the gun function with just one pump? What is the FPS please?

  • @peterbaugh51
    @peterbaugh51 2 роки тому

    Please measure ballistics for fps. We can then guess our fps. Here are mine, 1377, 8 pumps, rws 8.3 grain. Scope sight 2" high at point blank. At 10 yrds, 1/4" low (of bullseye). At 20 yrds, 1/4" high. At 30 yrds, bullseye. Zeros are at 15 and 30 yards. 7/8" group at 30 yrds. Kills tree rats at 25 yards no problemo. Guessing fps is 560 - 590 ? Measure your 1377 and compare ballistics to mine. We should then get a good idea of my fps. Thanks for a very helpful video. Happy shootin.
