I strongly recommend every owner of this treasure to not dryfire it!!! The hammer is really strong and will deform the push pin over time til the point it fails and needs to be replaced. Can also be very dangerous as i had this failure and the push pin got stuck in the "fired" position, so when racking the pumpgun the moment the next shell was in chamber the pin fired it and i shot at the ceiling. After using the gun i take an empty shell and press its valve pin down as it would be when loaded, insert it in the chamber and shot it, thats the way i storage it with uncocked hammer and avoiding dryfire.
It´s the same as for CO2 Pistols, if you stoarge the gas in the gun you will have a steady decrease in power due to lower pressure nd cooling of gas while xpanding leading to more pressure loss. By storaging the gas in the shell every shot has full power. Also i think the MK2 tended to leak a lot and becomes unusable til fixing, if some shells are leaking you can just use the other, also there are mostly easy to fix.

I've been dry firing it only with the empty shells loaded in (I never pushed down the valves in the shells) I don't know if that's okay or not.

Does somebody know, why they came back with the C02 charging for every shell with the mk3 or did the mk2 suck with the C02 in the shotgun itself?
